Abstract
The invention relates generally to a cap for use in an event, and more particularly to, a cap that is usually used in various events such as athletic sports, a picnic, etc. A cap according to the present invention has a sunshade 10′ formed at the cap's body 10 made of an inner layer of low foam synthetic resins and an outer layer of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) or PolyUrethane (PU), and a display element and a plurality of concave-convex or undulating elements formed at a constant interval with respect to each other on a circumference surface of a penetration element 2 formed at the center of the cap's body. Thus, if the cap is put on a head, the concave-convex elements formed at the penetration element are latched on the head, the cap can be prevented from taking off by a severe wind and marks or characters representing the even can be displayed to promote an event atmosphere.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The invention relates generally to a cap for use in an event, and more particularly to, a cap that is usually used in various events such as athletic sports, picnics, etc.
[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0004] Conventionally, lots of different types of caps are used in various events. However, there are problems that these various types of the caps are easily lost because they are made of light weight material such as paper and are easily blown off the heads of wearer's by wind. Further, they tend to be dull in appearance.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The present invention is contrived to solve these problems and an object of the present invention is to provide a cap for use at events in which a sunshade is formed at the cap's body on a plane made of low foam synthetic resins and a skin of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) or PolyUrethane (PU), for instance, in a combination permitting three to five colors to be displayed, and a penetration element having a display element and a plurality of concave-convex elements is formed at the center of the cap's body, whereby when the penetration element is put on a head, the concave-convex elements formed around the penetration element are latched to the head and indicia or characters representing an event are displayed on the display element, so that an event atmosphere can be created and advertised.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0012] The present invention will be described in detail by way of preferred embodiments with reference to accompanying drawings, in which like reference numerals are used to identify the same or similar parts.

FIG. 1 illustrates one embodiment of a cap according to the present invention. A sunshade 1′ is formed on one side of an outer circumferential surface or partially or all the way around the sides of the outer circumferential surface of the cap's body 1 on a plane. A penetration element 2 is formed at a central location on the cap. A display element or elements 3 is formed at one or more locations on the circumferential surface of the penetration element 2, and a plurality of concave-convex or undulating elements 2′ formed at a constant intervals with respect to each other on the circumferential surface of the penetration element 2. The display element 3 is integrally formed with the sunshade 1′ and is formed to extend toward the center of the penetration element 2. The display element 3 can have a base portion connecting a display portion to the circumferential surface of the penetration element 2 that is narrower than the display portion and approximately the wide of the undulation elements 2′ so as to permit maximum holding power on the wearer's head, as shown in FIG. 2, for instance.

FIG. 2 illustrates a case that the cap shown in FIG. 1 is put on a human's head to show the orientation of the display element 3 and the undulation elements 2′.
[0015] When the cap is put on a human's head with the display element 3 having marks or characters representing an event, the concave-convex elements 2′ are resiliently latched to the head due to its resilient property of low foam synthetic resins of which the contacting surface is made, so that the cap is not easily taken off by a wind. Further, the display element 3 becomes straight so that the marks or characters displayed on the display element can be easily seen both in front of and to a degree behind the wearer.
[0016] In case that the cap is allowed to remain in its flat state, it functions as a comfort mat due to its resilient property.

FIG. 3 illustrates another embodiment of a cap according to the present invention. As can be seen from the drawing, there is formed a sunshade 10′ at one side of a circumference surface of the cap's body 10 on a plane. A penetration element 20 is formed at the center of the cap. Decoration elements 30 and a plurality of concave-convex elements 20′ formed at a constant interval with respect to each other are formed at a circumferential surface of the penetration element 20. At this time, the decoration elements 30 are integrally formed with the sunshade 10′. Also, the decoration elements 30 are formed to extend toward one another in a flat posture.

FIG. 4 shows a case that the cap shown in FIG. 3 is put on a human's head in an event such as an athletic sports event or a picnic. The uses of the cap shown in FIG. 4 are same to those in FIG. 2. Thus, the detailed explanation of the uses and its effects of the cap shown in FIG. 4 will be omitted here.

FIG. 5 shows that the cap is made of a material having a resin foam inner layer 51, closest to a wearer's person when worn, and an outer skin 52 made of at least one of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC).or PolyUrethane (PU). Because of the PVC or PU skin, three to five colors can be easily printed on the surface of the cap, particularly on the decoration element(s) 3 and 30, in contrast to the rough appearance such printing might have if attempted on foam resin. Further, by differentiating or contrasting the colors of the foam resin of the inner layer 51 from the PVC or PU skin 52, indicia of contrasting color can be produced by the selective removal of the PVC or PU skin 52, which can result in three-dimensional effects for the indicia. Hence the skin 52 can be one color, the resin foam 51 another color, which can be exposed through the skin in the shape of designs or characters or other indicia, or the skin 52 can be partially removed within a design to give the appearance of a third color that is a combination of the differing colors of the foam resin 51 and the skin 52.
[0020] As mentioned above, a cap according to the present invention has a sunshade capable of blocking sunlight on an outer circumferential surface of the cap's body on a plane. The cap is made of a composite of low foam synthetic resins on an inner layer 51, closest to the wearer when worn, and an outer skin 52 of PU or PVC. A display element and concave-convex elements, or decoration elements and concave-convex elements, are located at a circumferential surface of a penetration element formed at the center of the cap. Thus, if the cap is put on a humans' head, the cap is resiliently latched on the head by the concave-convex elements and marks or characters on the display element can be thus easily viewed. Therefore, the present invention has an outstanding effect that it can maximize an event atmosphere.

Those having ordinary skill in the art and access to the teachings of the present invention will recognize additional modifications and applications within the scope thereof. It is therefore intended by the appended claims to cover any and all such applications, modifications, and embodiments within the scope of the present invention.
Claims
- 1. A cap for use in an event, comprising:
a body including a penetration element at a central location of the body; a sunshade located on at least one side of an outer circumferential surface the body of the cap; and at least one display element and a plurality of undulating elements that are evenly spaced with respect to each other, located at a circumferential surface of a penetration element formed at a central location of the body, wherein the cap is made of a material having a resin foam inner layer closest to a wearer's person when worn and an outer skin made of at least one of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) or PolyUrethane (PU).
- 2. A cap in accordance with claim 1, wherein a plurality of display elements are formed at opposite sides of the circumferential surface of the penetration element.
- 3. A cap in accordance with claim 1, wherein colored indicia are located on an outer surface of said outer skin.
- 4. A cap in accordance with claim 1, wherein indicia are printed in three to five colors on a surface of said outer skin.
- 5. A cap in accordance with claim 1, wherein colored indicia are formed by selective removal of said outer skin.
- 6. A cap in accordance with claim 1, wherein said at least one display element has a base portion approximately the width of said undulating elements to increase a holding power of the undulating elements by permitting a larger number thereof.
