Claims
- 1. A process for trimerizing a compound having isocyanato groups to form an isocyanurate which comprises heating a compound having isocyanato groups and a catalytic amount of a compound of the general formula ##STR13## in which n represents an integer of from 1 to 4
- R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be the same or different and represent a C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl group or a polymethylene chain containing 4 to 8 carbon atoms which together with the nitrogen atom form a heterocyclic ring,
- R.sub.3 may be hydrogen, chlorine, bromine or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 -alkyl group, and
- A represents a monovalent group obtained by removing the NCO groups from a monomeric aromatic monoisocyanate containing 6 to 14 carbon atoms, an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, or a cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 5 to 10 carbon atoms to a temperature above the point where the blocked phenol dissociates into the corresponding phenol.
