DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0018] As illustrated in FIG. 1, a gaming cloth 10 is marked with an area 12 in which five cards from a conventional pack of cards may be dealt face-up, and a betting area 14 in which bets may be placed on individual cards or combinations of the cards dealt face-up in area 12.
[0019] In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, the game is played with a conventional pack of 52 playing cards, five cards being dealt face-up in area 12, after bets have been placed by one or more players.
[0020] As illustrated in FIG. 2, the playing area comprises a series of 52 boxes 16 each representing one of the playing cards of the pack. The boxes 16 are arranged in tabular form, having nine columns with six rows in each of the columns and four rows in the ninth column. Additional boxes are arranged around the table representing bets on combinations of the cards turned up, for example box 20 representing black, box 22 representing red, box 24 representing high (HI), box 26 representing low (LO), box 28 representing picture (PIC), box 30 representing minimum (MIN), box 32 representing mid-high (MID-HI), box 34 representing mid-low (MID-LO) and box 36 representing pair.
[0021] 2 to King of diamonds and hearts are coloured red, and 2 to King of clubs and spades are coloured black following the normal connection. The Ace's are however coloured green.
[0022] Prior to the cards being dealt face-up in area 12, players may place bets in the betting area 14 to predict the individual cards or combination of cards to be dealt face-up.
[0023] Players may place bets:
[0024] (i) on individual cards by placing a token 40 in the box representing that card;
[0025] (ii) two cards by placing a token 42 so that it overlaps two adjacent boxes 16;
[0026] (iii) three cards by placing a token 44 so that it overlaps three adjacent boxes 16;
[0027] (iv) four cards by placing a token 46 so that it overlaps four adjacent boxes 16; or
[0028] (v) on the colour or range of ranks of a combination of the cards turned up by placing tokens in areas 20 to 34;
[0029] (vi) on a pair of the same rank by placing tokens in area 36.
[0030] The cards are then dealt face-up in box 12 and the bets are decided by matching the cards dealt face-up, against the bets placed. The odds paid out on each bet will typically be as set out in Table 1 below.
