The disclosure relates to cardboard box devices and more particularly pertains to a new cardboard box device that has a removable lid portion thereby facilitating the lid portion to be displayed on a support surface.
The prior art relates to cardboard box devices. The prior art discloses a cardboard box that has a tear strip for removing panels from the cardboard box. Additionally, the prior art discloses a collapsible cardboard box that includes tear away portions for converting the box into a French fry scoop. The prior art also discloses a cardboard box that has a plurality tear away sections for converting the box into a produce display. The prior art also discloses a cardboard box that has a tear away section to define a pour spout on the cardboard box.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a box that is comprised of a corrugated cardboard material thereby facilitating the box to be filled with products or produce for shipping. The box includes a lid portion that is removable from the box for accessing an interior of the box. The lid portion has indicia printed thereon comprising a logo of a company. A plurality of mating members is each coupled to the lid portion. Each of the mating members engages a support surface to display the lid portion and the indicia on the support surface for ornamental purposes.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The box 12 has a front wall 18 and a top wall 20, and the front wall 18 has a forward surface 22 and a rear surface 24. The front wall 18 has a plurality of perforations 26 extending through the forward surface 22 and the rear surface 24. Moreover, the plurality of perforations 26 extends around an entire perimeter of the front wall 18 to define the lid portion 14. The front wall 18 is tearable away from the box 12 along the plurality of perforations 26. Additionally, the top wall 20 has a pair of hand slots 27 extending therethrough to define a grip for carrying the box 12.
A plurality of mating members 28 is each coupled to the lid portion 14. Each of the mating members 28 engages a support surface 30 wherein the lid portion 14 is configured to be displayed on the support surface 30 for ornamental purposes. Each of the mating members 28 is positioned on the rear surface 24 of the front wall 18 and each of the mating members 28 is positioned adjacent to a respective one of four corners 32 of the front wall 18. Each of the mating members 28 has an exposed surface 34 with respect to the rear surface 24 of the front wall 18 to engage the support surface 30 having the indicia 16 being exposed. Each of the mating members 28 may comprise an adhesive strip, hook and loop fasteners or any other type of releasable fastener. Additionally, as is most clearly shown in
In use, the front wall 18 is removed from the box 12 along the perforations 26. The front wall 18 is positioned against a support surface 30, such as a wall or other similar support surface 30. Moreover, the each of the mating members 28 engages the support surface 30 to retain the front wall 18 on the support surface 30. In this way the front wall 18 is retained on the support surface 30 for displaying the indicia 16.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
