Claims
- 1. An enclosed carton for carrying a plurality of containers having a top end and a bottom end with the top end of each container having a diameter smaller than the bottom end, each said container being of the same size and shape as every other container in said plurality, each said container having a longitudinal axis which is oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis of every other container in said plurality when loaded into the carton, the carton comprising:
(a) a bottom panel, top panel, and adjoining side panels attached to the top panel by fold lines, and ends which are closed by foldably attached end flaps, and with said carton being designed so that the plurality of containers it is designed to hold can be accommodated with their longitudinal axes being perpendicular to the planes of the top and bottom panels with the top end of the containers being located adjacent to the top panel; and (b) said top panel having a dispenser opening which is at least largely located in the top panel with any remaining portion located in the adjoining side panel for the removal of said containers one at a time, said dispenser opening being sized to be slightly larger than the diameter of the bottom of from two to three containers, said dispenser opening being located approximately equidistance between the ends of said carton adjacent a fold line between the top panel and an adjoining side panel, said dispenser opening being closed by a dispenser flap that is coextensive with the dispenser opening, said dispenser flap being attached to said top panel by a tear line that extends at least most of the distance around said flap, said tear line having sufficient attachment points to resist tearing by the containers in the carton that are adjacent said dispensing flap, and with means to enable a person to grasp the dispenser flap for tearing it from the carton exposing the dispenser opening.
- 2. The carton of claim 1 which has two dispenser openings, each opening being adjacent to a fold line between the top panel and a side panel.
- 3. The enclosed carton of claim 1 in which said dispenser opening is sized to be slightly larger than the diameter of the bottom end of two containers and said dispenser opening extends partially into the adjoining side panel.
- 4. The enclosed carton of claim 3 in which the means to enable a person to grasp the dispenser flap for tearing it from the carton comprises V shaped fold lines in the side panel adjacent said dispenser flap, said V shaped fold lines having two push tabs foldably attached to said V shaped fold lines, with said push tabs located between said V shaped fold lines, said two push tabs being separated by a tear line from each other, with a tear line separating the push tabs from the dispenser flap, said push tabs being designed to be pushed inwardly by a person opening the dispenser flap so that a person can grasp the dispenser flap for easy tearing it from the carton.
- 5. The enclosed carton of claim 1 in which said dispenser opening is sized to be slightly larger than the diameter of the bottom end of three containers, said dispenser opening being located at least nearly entirely in the top panel adjacent a fold line between the top panel and adjoining side panel.
- 6. The enclosed carton of claim 5 in which the means to enable a person to grasp the dispenser flap for tearing it from the carton comprises V shaped fold lines in the side panel adjacent said dispenser flap, said V shaped fold lines having two push tabs foldably attached to said V shaped fold lines, with said push tabs located between said V shaped fold lines, said two push tabs being separated by a tear line from each other, with a tear line separating the push tabs from the dispenser flap, said push tabs being designed to be pushed inwardly by a person opening the dispenser flap so that a person can grasp the dispenser flap for easy tearing it from the carton
- 7. The enclosed carton of claim 5 which has a starting tab located in the top panel immediately adjacent the dispenser flap to which it is connected by a tear line, with said starting flap being connected to the top panel by a fold line, said starting flap is designed so that a person can easily grasp the dispenser flap to tear it loose from the carton.
- 8. The enclosed carton of claim 1 in which the tear line extends completely around the dispenser flap.
- 9. The carton of claim 1 which has a coupon attached to the inside of said dispenser flap.
- 10. The carton of claim 1 which has a coupon attached to the outside of the dispenser flap.
- 11. An enclosed carton for carrying a plurality of containers having a top end and a bottom end with the top end of each container having a diameter smaller than the bottom end, each said container being of the same size and shape as every other container in said plurality, each said container having a longitudinal axis which is oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis of every other container in said plurality when loaded into the carton, the carton comprising:
(a) a bottom panel, top panel, and adjoining side panels attached to the top panel by fold lines, and ends which are closed by foldably attached end flaps, and with said carton being designed so that the plurality of containers it is designed to hold can be accommodated with their longitudinal axes being perpendicular to the planes of the top and bottom panels with the top end of the containers being located adjacent to the top panel; and (b) said top panel having a dispenser opening sized to be slightly larger than the diameter of the bottom end of two containers and said dispenser opening extends partially into the adjoining side panel, said dispenser opening being located approximately equidistance between the ends of the carton adjacent a fold line between the top panel and an adjoining side panel, said dispenser opening being closed by a dispenser flap that is co-extensive with the dispenser opening, said dispenser flap being attached to said top panel by a tear line that extends around said flap, said tear line having sufficient attachment points to resist tearing by the containers in the carton that are adjacent said dispenser flap, said carton having V shaped fold lines in the side panel adjacent said dispenser opening, said V shaped fold lines having two push tabs foldably attached to said V shaped fold lines, with said push tabs located between said V shaped fold lines, said two tabs being separated by a tear line from each other, with a tear line separating the push tabs from the dispenser flap, said push tab being designed to be pushed inwardly by a person opening the dispenser flap so that a person can grasp the dispenser flap for easy tearing it from the carton.
- 12. The carton of claim 11 which has two dispenser openings, each opening being adjacent to a fold line between the top panel and a side panel.
- 13. An enclosed carton for carrying a plurality of containers having a top end and a bottom end with the top end of each container having a diameter smaller than the bottom end, each said container being of the same size and shape as every other container in said plurality, each said container having a longitudinal axis being oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis of every other container in said plurality when loaded into the carton, the carton comprising:
(a) a bottom panel, top panel, and adjoining side panels attached to the top panel by fold lines, and foldably attached end flaps, and with said carton being designed so that the plurality of containers it is designed to hold can be accommodated with their longitudinal axes being perpendicular to the planes of the top and bottom panels with the top end of the containers being located adjacent to the top panel; and (b) said top panel having a dispenser opening which is sized to be slightly larger than the diameter of the bottom end of three containers, said dispenser opening being located at least nearly entirely in the top panel adjacent a fold line between the top panel and adjoining side panel, said dispenser opening being located approximately equidistance between the ends of the carton, said dispenser opening being closed by a dispenser flap that is co-extensive with the dispenser opening, said dispenser flap being attached to the top panel by a tear line that extends around said flap, said tear line having sufficient attachment points to resist tearing by the containers in the carton that are adjacent said dispenser flap, said carton having a V shaped fold line in the side panel adjacent said opening dispenser, said V shaped fold lines having two push tabs foldably attached to said V shaped fold lines, with said push tabs located between said V shaped fold lines, said two push tabs being separated by a tear line from each other, with a tear line separating the push tabs from the dispenser flap, said push tabs being designed to be pushed inwardly by a person opening the dispenser flap so that a person can grasp the dispenser flap for easy tearing it from the carton.
- 14. The enclosed carton of claim 13 which has a starting tab located in the top panel immediately adjacent the dispenser flap to which is connected by a tear line, with said starting flap being connected to the top panel by fold line, said starting flap is designed so that a person can easily grasp the dispenser flap to tear it from the carton.
