Claims
- 1. A cascade impactor for analyzing particulate matter in a gas stream, said cascade impactor comprising:
a housing comprising an inlet for receiving a gas flow from the gas stream, a flowpath communicating the gas flow through the housing, and an outlet for discharging the gas flow; at least one jet plate within the flow path, each jet plate comprising a plurality of jet holes extending therethrough, and an alignment tab; at least one collection substrate, each collection substrate being within the flow path downstream of an associated jet plate, each collection substrate comprising at least one slot therethrough and at least one impact surface, wherein said impact surface is proximate to and downstream of said jet holes in the associated jet plate, each collection substrate further comprising an alignment tab; and alignment means for aligning the alignment tab of each said jet plate with the alignment tab of the associated collection substrate.
- 2. The cascade impactor of claim 1, further comprising a flow distributor within the flow path upstream of said at least one jet plate.
- 3. The cascade impactor of claim 1, wherein each jet plate comprises an integral spacer.
- 4. The cascade impactor of claim 3, wherein the integral spacer comprises a circumferential lip.
- 5. The cascade impactor of claim 3, wherein the integral spacer comprises first and second diametrical ribs.
- 6. The cascade impactor of claim 4, wherein the integral spacer further comprises first and second diametrical ribs.
- 7. The cascade impactor of claim 3, wherein the jet plate has a body portion having a plurality of jet holes extending therethrough, and wherein the alignment tab projects radially from said body portion.
- 8. A jet plate for a cascade impactor, said jet plate comprising a body portion having a plurality of jet holes extending therethrough, said jet plate further comprising an integral spacer depending from the first surface, wherein the integral spacer comprises a curcumferential lip, a first diametrical rib, and a second diametrical rib.
- 9. The jet plate of claim 8, further comprising an alignment tab projecting radially from said body portion.
