Claims
- 1. A process for producing a polymer of α-olefin , comprising contacting a catalyst with α-olefin to conduct polymerization or copolymerization of α-olefin, which catalyst comprises:an essential component (A) of a transition metal compound; an essential component (B) of an ion exchangeable layer compound except for silicate or an inorganic silicate; and an optional component (C) of an organoaluminum compound; said component (A) being represented by the following general formula (III) wherein R1, R2, R4 and R5 are independently a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a silicon-containing hydrocarbon group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms or a halogenated hydrocarbon group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms; R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, R15 and R16 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or a halogenated hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; Q is a bridging group of the two 5-membered rings, and is a divalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a divalent halogenated hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a silylene group, a silylene group having a hydrocarbon group or a halogenated hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an oligosilylene group, an oligosilylene group having a hydrocarbon group or halogenated hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a germylene group or a germylene group having a hydrocarbon group or halogenated hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; X and Y are independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a silicon-containing hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a halogenated hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an oxygen-containing hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an amino group or a nitrogen-containing hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; Ph is a phenyl group; and M is a transition metal selected from the group consisting of elements belonging to Group 4-6 of the Periodic Table.

A process for producing a polymer of α-olefin according to claim 1, wherein in formula (III), R1 and R5 are a hydrogen atom, R2 and R4 are a methyl group, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, R15 and R16 are a hydrogen atom, M is zirconium, Q is a dimethylsilylene group, and X and Y are a halogen atom.
- 3. A process for producing a polymer of α-olefin according to claim 1, wherein in formula (III), R1 and R5 are a hydrogen atom, R2 and R4 are a methyl group, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, R15 and R16 are a hydrogen atom, M is hafnium, Q is a dimethylsilylene group, and X and Y are a halogen atom.
- 4. A process for producing a polymer of α-olefin according to claim 1, wherein in formula (III), R1 and R5 are a hydrogen atom, R2 and R4 are a ethyl group, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, R15 and R16 are a hydrogen atom, M is zirconium, Q is a dimethylsilylene group, and X and Y are a halogen atom.
- 5. A process for producing a polymer of α-olefin according to claim 1, wherein in formula (III), R1 and R5 are a hydrogen atom, R2 and R4 are a methyl group, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, R15 and R16 are a hydrogen atom, M is zirconium, Q is a dimethylgermylene group, and X and Y are a halogen atom.
- 6. A process for producing a polymer of α-olefin according to claim 1, wherein in formula (III), R1 and R5 are a hydrogen atom, R2 and R4 are a ethyl group, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, R15 and R16 are a hydrogen atom, M is zirconium, Q is a dimethylgermylene group, and X and Y are a halogen atom.
