Claims
- 1. The process of catalytically converting an organic compound charge which comprises contacting said charge under organic compound conversion conditions with a catalyst comprising a synthetic crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite having a composition in the anhydrous state, expressed in terms of mole ratios of oxides as follows:
- (0.3-5)R:(0-0.8)M.sub.2 O:Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 :xSiO.sub.2
- wherein R is butanediamine or an organic nitrogen-containing cation derived therefrom, M is an alkali metal cation and x is greater than 8, and having an X-ray powder diffraction pattern substantially as that shown in Table 1 of the specification.
- 2. The process of claim 1 wherein said zeolite has a composition in the anhydrous state, expressed in terms of mole ratios of oxides as follows:
- (0.4-2.5)R:(0-0.6)M.sub.2 O:Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 :ySiO.sub.2
- where y is from greater than 8 to about 50.
- 3. The process of claim 1 wherein M in the formula of said zeolite is sodium.
- 4. The process of claim 2 wherein M in the formula of said zeolite is sodium.
- 5. The process of claim 1 wherein said zeolite has its original alkali metal cations replaced, at least in part, by ion exchange with a cation or a mixture of cations selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and hydrogen precursors, rare earth metals and metals from Groups IIA, IIIA, IVA, IB, IIB, IIIB, IVB, VIB and VIII of the Periodic Table of Elements.
- 6. The process of claim 2 wherein said zeolite has its original alkali metal cations replaced, at least in part, by ion exchange with a cation or a mixture of cations selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and hydrogen precursors, rare earth metals and metals from Groups IIA, IIIA, IVA, IB, IIB, IIIB, IVB, VIB and VIII of the Periodic Table of Elements.
- 7. The process of claim 3 wherein said zeolite has its original sodium cations replaced, at least in part, by ion exchange with a cation or a mixture of cations selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and hydrogen precursors, rare earth metals and metals from Group IIA, IIA, IVA, IB IIB, IIIB, IVB, VIB and VIII of the Periodic Table of Elements.
- 8. The process of claim 4 wherein said zeolite has its original sodium cations replaced, at least in part, by ion exchange with a cation or a mixture of cations selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and hydrogen precursors, rare earth metals and metals from Groups IIA, IIA, IVA, IB IIB, IIIB, IVB, VIB and VIII of the Periodic Table of Elements.
