Claims
- 1. A cathode ray tube comprising a panel portion with a phosphor layer formed on its inner face, a neck portion accommodating an electron gun, a funnel portion for coupling said panel portion to said neck portion, and a color selective electrode having electron beam passing openings arranged opposite to said phosphor layer with a space therebetween wherein a bismuth oxide layer is deposited on a surface of said color selective electrode facing said electron gun, and wherein a bulk density of said bismuth oxide layer is at least 1 gm/cm3.
- 2. A cathode ray tube according to claim 1, wherein said bulk density of the bismuth oxide layer is a range of 1-9.3 g/cm3.
- 3. A cathode ray tube according to claim 2, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is less than 1% of a plate thickness of said color selective electrode.
- 4. A cathode ray tube according to claim 3, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 5. A cathode ray tube according to claim 3, wherein the color selective electrode assembly has longer sides and shorter sides, and wherein the thickness of said bismuth oxide thin film is a mean value of (a) a thickness at a central point on said color selective electrode assembly; (b) a thickness at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a thickness at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 6. A cathode ray tube according to claim 2, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is 5 to 700 nm.
- 7. A cathode ray tube according to claim 6, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 8. A cathode ray tube according to claim 6, wherein the color selective electrode assembly has longer sides and shorter sides, and wherein the thickness of said bismuth oxide thin film is a mean value of (a) a thickness at a central point on said color selective electrode assembly; (b) a thickness at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a thickness at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 9. A cathode ray tube according to claim 2, wherein the mass of said bismuth oxide layer is 2×10−6 g/cm2 to 6.5×10−4 g/cm2.
- 10. A cathode ray tube according to claim 9, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 11. A cathode ray tube according to claim 9, wherein the color selective electrode assembly has longer sides and shorter sides, and wherein the mass of said bismuth oxide thin film is a mean value of (a) a mass at a central point on said color selective electrode assembly; (b) a mass at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a mass at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 12. A cathode ray tube according to claim 2, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 13. A cathode ray tube according to claim 2, wherein the color selective electrode assembly has longer sides and shorter sides, and wherein the thickness of said bismuth oxide thin film is a mean value of (a) a thickness at a central point on said color selective electrode assembly; (b) a thickness at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a thickness at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 14. A cathode ray tube according to claim 1, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 15. A cathode ray tube according to claim 1, wherein the mass of said bismuth oxide layer is 2×10−10 g/cm2 to 6.5×10−4 g/cm2.
- 16. A cathode ray tube according to claim 15, wherein the color selective electrode assembly has longer sides and shorter sides, and wherein the mass of said bismuth oxide thin film is a mean value of (a) a mass at a central point on said color selective electrode assembly; (b) a mass at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a mass at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 17. A cathode ray tube according to claim 1, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is 5 to 700 nm.
- 18. A cathode ray tube according to claim 17, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 19. A cathode ray tube according to claim 17, wherein the color selective electrode assembly has longer sides and shorter sides, and wherein the thickness of said bismuth oxide thin film is a mean value of (a) a thickness at a central point on said color selective electrode assembly; (b) a thickness at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a thickness at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 20. A cathode ray tube according to claim 1, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is less than 1% of a plate thickness of said color selective electrode.
- 21. A cathode ray tube according to claim 20, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 22. A cathode ray tube according to claim 1, wherein the color selective electrode assembly has longer sides and shorter sides, and wherein the thickness of said bismuth oxide thin film is a mean value of (a) a thickness at a central point on said color selective electrode assembly; (b) a thickness at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a thickness at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode assembly is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 23. A cathode ray tube comprising a panel portion with a phosphor layer formed on its inner face, a neck portion accommodating an electron gun, a funnel portion for coupling said panel portion to said neck portion, and a color selective electrode having electron beam passing openings arranged opposite to said phosphor layer with a space therebetween, wherein a bismuth oxide layer is deposited, on a surface of said color selective electrode facing said electron gun, in an evacuated environment, and wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 24. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 23, wherein said evacuated environment is substantially equal or less than 2×10−4 Torr.
- 25. A cathode ray tube according to claim 9, wherein said color selective electrode is made of iron-nickel (Fe—Ni) alloy with its surface having had a blackening treatment.
- 26. A cathode ray tube according to claim 25, wherein said bulk density of the bismuth oxide layer is in a range of 1-9.3 g/cm3.
- 27. A cathode ray tube according to claim 26, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is less than 1% of a plate thickness of said color selective electrode.
- 28. A cathode ray tube according to claim 27, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 29. A cathode ray tube according to claim 26, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is 5 to 700 nm.
- 30. A cathode ray tube according to claim 29, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 31. A cathode ray tube according to claim 26, wherein the mass of said bismuth oxide layer is 2×10−6 g/cm2 to 6.5×10−4 g/cm2.
- 32. A cathode ray tube according to claim 31, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 33. A cathode ray tube according to claim 26, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 34. A cathode ray tube according to claim 25, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of sid bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 35. A cathode ray tube according to claim 25, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is less than 1% of a plate thickness of said color selective electrode.
- 36. A cathode ray tube according to claim 25, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is 5 to 700 nm.
- 37. A cathode ray tube according to claim 36, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 38. A cathode ray tube according to claim 25, wherein the mass of said bismuth oxide layer is 2×10−6 g/cm2 to 6.5×10−4 g/cm2.
- 39. A cathode ray tube according to claim 38, wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 40. A cathode ray tube comprising a panel portion with a phosphor layer formed on its inner face, a neck portion accommodating an electron gun, a funnel portion for coupling said panel portion to said neck portion, and a color selective electrode having electron beam passing openings arranged opposite to said phosphor layer with a space therebetween, said color selective electrode being made of iron-nickel (Fe—Ni) alloy with its surface having had a blackening treatment, wherein a bismuth oxide layer is deposited on a surface of said color selective electrode facing said electron gun, wherein the bismuth oxide layer is deposited on the surface of said color selective electrode in an evacuated environment, and wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 41. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 40, wherein said evacuated environment is at most 2×10−4 Torr.
- 42. A cathode ray tube comprising a panel portion with a phosphor layer formed on its inner face, a neck portion accommodating an electron gun, a funnel portion for coupling said panel portion to said neck portion, and a color selective electrode having electron beam passing openings arranged opposite to said phosphor layer with a space therebetween, wherein a bismuth oxide layer is deposited on a surface of said color selective electrode facing said electron gun, and wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is 0.5:1.0 to 0.7:1.0.
- 43. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 42, wherein said bismuth oxide layer is a vacuum deposition film.
- 44. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 43, wherein the color selective electrode has longer sides and shorter sides, and wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is a mean value of (a) a bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio at a central point on said color selective electrode; (b) a bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 45. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 44, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is less than 1% of a plate thickness of said color selective electrode.
- 46. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 45, wherein the thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is a mean value of (a) a thickness at a central point on said color selective electrode; (b) a thickness at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a thickness at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 47. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 44, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is 5 to 700 nm.
- 48. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 47, wherein the thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is a mean value of (a) a thickness at a central point on said color selective electrode; (b) a thickness at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a thickness at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 49. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 48, wherein the mass of said bismuth oxide layer is 2×10−6 g/cm2 to 6.5×10−4 g/cm2.
- 50. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 49, wherein the mass of said bismuth oxide layer is a mean value of (a) a mass at a central point on said color selective electrode; (b) a mass at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a mass at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 51. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 42, wherein the color selective electrode has longer sides and shorter sides, and wherein the bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio of said bismuth oxide layer is a mean value of (a) a bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio at a central point on said color selective electrode; (b) a bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a bismuth to oxygen atomic molar ratio at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 52. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 51, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is less than 1% of a plate thickness of said color selective electrode.
- 53. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 52, wherein the thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is a mean value of (a) a thickness at a central point on said color selective electrode; (b) a thickness at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a thickness at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 54. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 51, wherein a thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is 5 to 700 nm.
- 55. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 54, wherein the thickness of said bismuth oxide layer is a mean value of (a) a thickness at a central point on said color selective electrode; (b) a thickness at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a thickness at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
- 56. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 55, wherein the mass of said bismuth oxide layer is 2×10−6 g/cm2 to 6.5×10−4 g/cm2.
- 57. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 56, wherein the mass of said bismuth oxide layer is a mean value of (a) a mass at a central point on said color selective electrode; (b) a mass at a point on a major axis whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 83% of a half length of a longer side; and (c) a mass at a point on a diagonal line whose distance from said central point on said color selective electrode is 90% of a half length of the diagonal line.
