Claims
- 1. A color cathode ray tube comprising:
- an electron gun including cathodes for forming three electron beams in line, electrodes forming a main lens for shaping the electron beams, and a shield cup arranged neighboring the electrodes forming the main lens to protect the shaped electron beams from an external environment along a tubular axis, the cathodes, the electrodes forming the main lens and the shield cup being arranged in order along the tubular axis;
- a deflection yoke generating a deflecting magnetic field to deflect the electron beams in the in-line direction and in a direction at right angles to the in-line direction; and
- a fluorescent screen which emits light when irradiated with the deflected electron beams to form a picture;
- wherein the shield cup of the electron gun is arranged in a region of the deflecting magnetic field of the deflection yoke, a deflection aberration correcting electrode member is provided in a bottom portion of the shield cup on the side of the cathodes at positions on the side of the fluorescent screen beyond an aperture through which the three electron beams pass, the deflection aberration correcting electrode member changing a focusing or diverging action of the electron beams to change the diameter of the beams depending upon the amount of deflection of the electron beams.
- 2. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 1, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member has opposing portions between which the passage of the three electron beams is sandwiched from the direction at right angles to the in-line direction.
- 3. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 2, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member forms an astigmatic electric field.
- 4. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 2, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member forms a coma electric field.
- 5. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 1, wherein the main lens is delimited by a focusing electrode and an anode arranged in order along the tubular axis, the shield cup being arranged between the anode and the fluorescent screen.
- 6. A color cathode ray tube comprising:
- an electron gun constituted by cathodes for forming three electron beams in line, electrodes forming a main lens for shaping the electron beams, and a shield cup arranged neighboring the electrodes forming the main lens to protect the shaped electron beams from an external environment along a tubular axis, the cathodes, the electrodes forming the main lens and the shield cup being arranged in order along the tubular axis;
- a deflection yoke generating a deflecting magnetic field to deflect the electron beams in the in-line direction and in a direction at right angles to the in-line direction; and
- a fluorescent screen which emits light when irradiated with said deflected electron beams to form a picture;
- wherein the shield cup of the electron gun is arranged in the region of the deflecting magnetic field of the deflection yoke, a common single aperture is formed in a bottom portion of the shield cup on a side of the cathodes to permit the passage of the three electron beams, a deflection aberration correcting electrode member is provided to chance a focusing or diverging action of the electron beams on a side closer to the fluorescent screen than the single aperture in order to change a diameter of the beams depending upon the amount of deflection of the electron beams.
- 7. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 6, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member has opposing portions between which the passage of the three electron beams is sandwiched from the direction at right angles to the in-line direction.
- 8. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 7, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member forms an astigmatic electric field.
- 9. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 7, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member forms a coma electric field.
- 10. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 6, wherein the main lens is delimited by a focusing electrode and an anode arranged in order along the tubular axis, the shield cup being arranged between the anode and the fluorescent screen.
- 11. A color cathode ray tube comprising:
- an electron gun constituted of cathodes for forming three electron beams in line, electrodes forming a main lens for shaping the electron beams, and a shield cup arranged neighboring the electrodes forming the main lens to protect the shaped electron beams that are shaped from an external environment along a tubular axis, the cathodes, the electrodes forming the main lens and the shield cup being arranged in order along the tubular axis;
- a deflection yoke having a coil and a core and generating deflecting magnetic fields to deflect the electron beams in the in-line direction and in a direction at right angles to the in-line direction; and
- a fluorescent screen which emits light when irradiated with the deflected electron beams to form a picture;
- wherein a deflection aberration correcting electrode member is provided changing a focusing as diverging action of the electron beams on a side closer to said fluorescent screen than an aperture formed in a bottom surface of the shield cup on the side of the cathodes and through which the three electron beams pass, in order to change a diameter of the beams depending upon the amount of deflection of the electron beams, and a distance in the direction of the tubular axis is set to be not longer than 40 mm from an end of the core of the deflection yoke on a side of the cathodes to an end of the deflection aberration correcting electrode member on a side of the fluorescent screen.
- 12. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 11, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member has opposing portions between which the passage of the three electron beams is sandwiched from the direction at right angles to the in-line direction.
- 13. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 12, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member forms an astigmatic electric field.
- 14. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 12, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member forms a coma electric field.
- 15. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 11, wherein the main lens is delimited by a focusing electrode and an anode arranged in order along the tubular axis, the shield cup being arranged between the anode and the fluorescent screen.
- 16. A color cathode ray tube comprising:
- an electron gun constituted of cathodes for forming three electron beams in line, electrodes forming a main lens for shaping the electron beams, and a shield cup arranged neighboring the electrodes forming the main lens to protect the electron beams that are shaped from an external environment along a tubular axis, the cathodes, the electrodes forming the main lens and the shield cup being arranged in order along the tubular axis;
- a deflection yoke having a coil and a core and generating deflecting magnetic fields to deflect the electron beams in the in-line direction and in a direction at right angles to the in-line direction; and
- a fluorescent screen which emits light when irradiated with the deflected electron beams to form a picture;
- wherein a common single aperture is formed in a bottom portion of the shield cup on a side of the cathodes to permit passage of the three electron beams, a deflection aberration correcting electrode member is provided to changing a focusing as diverging action of the electron beams on a side closer to the fluorescent screen than the common single aperture, in order to change a diameter of the beams depending upon the amount of deflection of the electron beams, and a distance in the direction of the tubular axis is set to be not longer than 40 mm from an end of the core of the deflection yoke on a side of the cathodes to an end of the deflection aberration correcting electrode member on a side of the fluorescent screen.
- 17. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 16, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member has opposing portions between which the passage of the three electron beams is sandwiched from a direction at right angles to the in-line direction.
- 18. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 17, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member forms an astigmatic electric field.
- 19. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 17, wherein the deflection aberration correcting electrode member forms a coma electric field.
- 20. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 16, wherein the main lens is delimited by a focusing electrode and an anode arranged in order along the tubular axis, the shield cup being arranged between the anode and the fluorescent screen.
