Claims
- 1. Cationically modified cellulose material which contains at least 0.4% by weight of basic nitrogen and has a cationic constituent derived from a basic amide compound of the formula
- wherein R" represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently of one another represent hydrogen, lower alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, hydroxyl, lower alkoxy or cyano, or cycloalkyl or benzyl, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, together with the nitrogen atom which links them, denote a 5-membered or 6-membered heterocyclic radical, Q denotes alkylene or alkyl-substituted alkylene each with up to 8 carbon atoms and Y denotes hydrogen, lower alkyl or
- 2. Cationically modified cellulose material according to claim 1 wherein the cationic constituent is derived from a compound of the formula (4) in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 both denote lower alkyl or lower alkoxy-lower alkyl, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, together with the common nitrogen atom, denote a morpholino radical, Q denotes C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkylene and Y
- 3. Cationically modified cellulose material according to claim 2, wherein the cationic constituent is derived from a compound of the formula (4) in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 both denote methyl or ethyl, Q denotes ethylene
- 4. Cationically modified cellulose material according to claim 2, wherein the cationic constituent is derived from a compound of the formula (4) in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, together with the nitrogen atom which links them, denote morpholino, Q denotes ethylene and Y and R" denote hydrogen.
- 5. Cationically modified cellulose material according to claim 1, wherein the cationic constituent is derived from a compound of the formula (4) in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 both denote ethyl, Q denotes ethylene, Y denotes
- 6. Cationically modified cellulose material according to claim 1, wherein the cationic constituent is derived from a compound of the formula (4) in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 both denote ethyl, Q denotes ethylene, Y denotes
- 7. Cationically modified cellulose material wherein the cationic constituent is derived from a compound of the formula (CH.sub.3).sub.3
- 8. Cationically modified cellulose material which contains at least 0.4% by weight of basic nitrogen and has a cationic constituent derived from a quaternary ammonium of the formula ##STR32## in which V.sub.2 and V.sub.3 independently of one another denote hydrogen, lower alkyl which is optionally substituted by halogen, cyano, hydroxy or lower alkoxy, or benzyl or the group of the formula (5) ##STR33## any two of R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and V.sub.2, together with the nitrogen atom which links them, denote a pyridine ring which is optionally substituted by lower alkyl and An.sup..crclbar. denotes the anion of an organic or inorganic acid and R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 independently of one another denote hydrogen, lower alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by hydroxyl, cyano, halogen or lower alkoxy, or cycloalkyl, benzyl or the group of the formula (5) ##STR34## or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, together with the nitrogen atom which links them, denote a 5-membered or 6-membered heterocyclic radical or, if n is 1, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5, together with the grouping >N-Q.sub.1 -N< which links them, also denote a divalent heterocyclic radical, especially a piperazino ring, R" represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, Q and Q.sub.1 represent alkylene or alkyl-substituted alkylene and with up to 8 carbon atoms Y represents hydrogen, lower alkyl or --CH.sub.2 OR"--, and n denotes 1 to 1000, and at least one of R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, V.sub.2 and V.sub.3 represents the group of the formula (5) and, if n denotes more than 1, each R.sub.5, or each V.sub.3, independently of the others, can represent hydrogen, lower alkyl which is optionally substituted by halogen, cyano, hydroxyl or lower alkoxy, or benzyl or the group of the formula (5), or each R.sub.5, or individual R.sub.5 s, together with the adjacent R.sub.5 and with the common grouping >N-Q.sub.1 -N<, also represent a divalent heterocyclic radical, especially a piperazino ring.
- 9. Cationically modified cellulose material according to claim 8, wherein the cationic constituent is derived from a quaternary ammonium compound of the formula ##STR35## in which R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R", V.sub.1, Q, Q.sub.1, Y and An.sup..crclbar. have the meaning indicated in claim 8 and m is 2.
- 10. Cationically modified cellulose material according to claim 9, wherein the cationic constituent is derived from a quaternary ammonium compoud of the formula ##STR36## in which R.sub.1 " and R.sub.2 " each denote lower alkyl, R.sub.3 ' denotes hydrogen or the group of the formula -Q"-CO-NH-CH.sub.2 OH, Q.sub.1 ' represents ethylene or propylene, Q" represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkylene and An.sup..crclbar. has the meaning indicated in claim 8.
- 11. Cationically modified cellulose material according to claim 10, wherein the cationic constituent is derived from a compound of the formula (13) in which R.sub.1 ", R.sub.2 " and V.sub.1 ' each denote ethyl, R.sub.3 ' denotes the group --Q'--CO--NH--CH.sub.2 OH, Q' denotes ethylene, Q.sub.1 ' denotes propylene and An.sup..crclbar. denotes a chloride or bromide ion.
