Claims
- 1. A holder that can hold a bare CD and other like disk-shaped items and usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and said holder engaging mechanism adapted to engage an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; a member extending from the base and adapted to receive a bare CD; and wherein said member includes a hub which is adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 2. The holder of claim 1 further including:
said member including a second hub which is adapted to retain a second aperture of a second bare CD.
- 3. The holder of claim 1 further including:
said hub includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 4. The holder of claim 1 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 5. The holder of claim 1 wherein said member is pie-shaped.
- 6. The holder of claim 1 wherein said member is transparent such that a bare CD can be viewed through said member.
- 7. The holder of claim 1 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 8. The holder of claim 1 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 9. The holder of claim 1 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 10. The holder of claim 1 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
- 11. A rack that is adapted to retain and rotate a plurality of bare CDs, the rack comprising:
a continuous loop formed from a plurality of interlocked holders, each holder including:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and said holder engaging mechanism engages an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; a member extending from the base and having a hub adapted to receive an aperture of a bare CD; and wherein a holder-engaging mechanism of a first holder nests in a holder-engaging mechanism of an adjacent holder; a motor that can rotate said loop; a sprocket that is driven by said motor; said sprocket including a plurality of teeth with spaces located between said teeth; and wherein said holder-engaging mechanism of said first holder nested in a holder-engaging mechanism of an adjacent holder can be positioned in a space between said teeth as the holders engage the sprocket in order to spread the holders apart.
- 12. The holder of claim 11 further including:
said member including a second hub which is adapted to retain a second aperture of a second bare CD.
- 13. The holder of claim 11 further including:
said hub includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 14. The holder of claim 11 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 15. The holder of claim 11 wherein said member is pie-shaped.
- 16. The holder of claim 11 wherein said member is transparent such that a bare CD can be viewed through said member.
- 17. The holder of claim 11 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 18. The holder of claim 11 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 19. The holder of claim 11 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 20. The holder of claim 11 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
- 21. A holder that can hold a bare CD and other like disk-shaped items and usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and said holder engaging mechanism adapted to engage an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; and a member extending from the base and having a hub adapted to receive an aperture of a bare CD.
- 22. The holder of claim 21 further including:
said member including a second hub which is adapted to retain a second aperture of a second bare CD.
- 23. The holder of claim 21 further including:
said hub includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 24. The holder of claim 21 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 25. The holder of claim 21 wherein said member is pie-shaped.
- 26. The holder of claim 21 wherein said member is transparent such that a bare CD can be viewed through said member.
- 27. The holder of claim 21 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 28. The holder of claim 21 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 29. The holder of claim 21 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 30. The holder of claim 21 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
- 31. A rack that is adapted to retain and rotate a plurality of bare CDs, the rack comprising:
a continuous loop formed from a plurality of interlocked holders, each holder including:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and said holder engaging mechanism engages an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; a member extending from the base and having a hub adapted to receive an aperture of a bare CD; and wherein a holder-engaging mechanism of a first holder nests in a holder-engaging mechanism of an adjacent holder.
- 32. The holder of claim 31 further including:
said member including a second hub which is adapted to retain a second aperture of a second bare CD.
- 33. The holder of claim 31 further including:
said hub includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 34. The holder of claim 31 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 35. The holder of claim 31 wherein said member is pie-shaped.
- 36. The holder of claim 31 wherein said member is transparent such that a bare CD can be viewed through said member.
- 37. The holder of claim 31 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 38. The holder of claim 31 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 39. The holder of claim 31 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 40. The holder of claim 31 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
- 41. A holder that can hold a bare CD and other like disk-shaped items and usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and said holder engaging mechanism adapted to engage an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; a first member extending from the base and adapted to receive a bare CD; and wherein said member includes a hub which is adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD; and a second member extending from the base and adapted to receive a bare CD; and wherein said second member includes a second hub which is adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 42. The holder of claim 41 wherein said first member is located to one side of the second member.
- 43. The holder of claim 41 wherein said first member and said second member are in the same plane.
- 44. The holder of claim 41 wherein said first member and said second member are continuous.
- 45. The holder of claim 41 wherein said first member is located above said second member.
- 46. The holder of claim 41, wherein at least one of the first hub and the second hub include a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 47. The holder of claim 41 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 48. The holder of claim 41 wherein at least one of the first member and the second member is pie-shaped.
- 49. The holder of claim 41 wherein at least one of the first member and the second member is transparent such that a bare CD can be viewed through at least one of the first member and the second member.
- 50. The holder of claim 41 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 51. The holder of claim 41 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 52. The holder of claim 41 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 53. The holder of claim 41 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
- 54. A rack that is adapted to retain and rotate a plurality of bare CDs, the rack comprising:
a continuous loop formed from a plurality of interlocked holders, each holder including:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and said holder engaging mechanism engages an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; a first member extending from the base and having a first hub adapted to receive an aperture of a bare CD; a second member extending from the base and having a second hub adapted to receive an aperture of a bare CD; and wherein a holder-engaging mechanism of a first holder nests in a holder-engaging mechanism of an adjacent holder.
- 55. The holder of claim 54, wherein at least one of the first hub and the second hub include a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 56. The holder of claim 54 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 57. The holder of claim 54 wherein at least one of the first member and the second member is pie-shaped.
- 58. The holder of claim 54 wherein at least one of the first member and the second member is transparent such that a bare CD can be viewed through at least one of the first member and the second member.
- 59. The holder of claim 54 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 60. The holder of claim 54 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 61. The holder of claim 54 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 62. The holder of claim 54 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
- 63. A holder usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a structure adapted to frictionally engage an aperture of at least one object to be retained by the holder; and a holder engaging mechanism extending from the structure, the holder-engaging mechanism to interlock adjacent holders.
- 64. The holder of claim 63 further including:
the structure includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 65. The holder of claim 63 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 66. The holder of claim 63 wherein said structure is pie-shaped.
- 67. The holder of claim 63 wherein said structure is transparent such that a bare CD can be viewed through said structure.
- 68. The holder of claim 63 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 69. The holder of claim 63 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 70. The holder of claim 63 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 71. The holder of claim 63 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
- 72. A holder usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism to interlock adjacent holders; and a protruding member disposed on the base having a projection adapted to frictionally engage an aperture of at least one object to be retained by the holder.
- 73. The holder of claim 72 further including:
the protruding member includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 74. The holder of claim 72 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 75. The holder of claim 72 wherein the protruding member is pie-shaped.
- 76. The holder of claim 72 wherein the protruding member is transparent such that a bare CD can be viewed through said protruding member.
- 77. The holder of claim 72 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 78. The holder of claim 72 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 79. The holder of claim 72 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 80. The holder of claim 72 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
- 81. A holder to retain at least one disk-shaped object, the holder adapted to interlock with similar holders to form a continuous loop, each holder comprising:
a base adapted to be located adjacent to an edge of the at least one disk-shaped object and having a holder engaging mechanism to interlock with adjacent holders; a member extending from said base; and a protruding member disposed on the member having a structure adapted to frictionally engage a center aperture of the at least one disk-shaped object to be retained by the holder.
- 82. The holder of claim 81 further including:
the protruding member includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 83. The holder of claim 81 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 84. The holder of claim 81 wherein the member is pie-shaped.
- 85. The holder of claim 81 wherein the member is transparent.
- 86. The holder of claim 81 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 87. The holder of claim 81 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 88. The holder of claim 81 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 89. The holder of claim 81 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
- 90. A holder usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a base having an interior surface having a holder engaging mechanism to interlock with adjacent holders; a member extending from an exterior surface of the base, the member having a structure adapted to frictionally engage an aperture of at least one object to be retained by the holder.
- 91. The holder of claim 90 further including:
the member includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 92. The holder of claim 90 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 93. The holder of claim 90 wherein the member is pie-shaped.
- 94. The holder of claim 90 wherein the member is transparent such that a bare CD can be viewed through said member.
- 95. The holder of claim 90 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 96. The holder of claim 90 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.

a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 98. The holder of claim 90 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
- 99. A holder usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a structure adapted to frictionally engage an aperture of at least one object to be retained by the holder; and the holder having a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto and a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end shaped in order to be received in a slot of an adjacent holder.
- 100. The holder of claim 99 further including:
the structure includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 101. The holder of claim 99 wherein said holder is less than half the thickness of a CD jewel case.
- 102. The holder of claim 99 wherein the structure is pie-shaped.
- 103. The holder of claim 99 wherein the structure is transparent.
- 104. The holder of claim 99 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 105. The holder of claim 99 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 106. The holder of claim 99 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 107. The holder of claim 99 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto; a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end is shaped in order to be received in said slot; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop; and wherein the distal end of the second holder-engaging mechanism of the second said holder can pass through said slot located adjacent to the first holder-engaging mechanism of said holder to which the second holder-engaging mechanism is inserted to allow the second said holder to spread apart from said holder.
