Claims
- 1. A holder that can hold a bare CD and other like disk-shaped items and usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and permanently attached thereto, said holder engaging mechanism adapted to engage an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; a planar surface extending from the base and adapted to receive a bare CD; and wherein said planar surface includes a hub which is adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD; and wherein each holder can be interlocked with two adjacent holders via the holder engaging mechanism.
- 2. The holder of claim 1 further including:
said planar surface including a second hub which is adapted to retain a second aperture of a second bare CD.
- 3. The holder of claim 1 further including:
said hub includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 4. The holder of claim 1, wherein the holder and the holder engaging mechanism are injection molded.
- 5. The holder of claim 1 wherein said planar surface is pie-shaped.
- 6. The holder of claim 1 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 7. The holder of claim 1 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 8. The holder of claim 1 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 9. A holder that can hold a bare CD and other like disk-shaped items and usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and permanently attached thereto, said holder engaging mechanism adapted to engage an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; and a planar surface extending from the base and having a hub adapted to receive an aperture of a bare CD; and wherein each holder can be interlocked with two adjacent holders via the holder engaging mechanism.
- 10. The holder of claim 9 further including:
said planar surface including a second hub which is adapted to retain a second aperture of a second bare CD.
- 11. The holder of claim 9 further including:
said hub includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 12. The holder of claim 9, wherein the holder and the holder engaging mechanism are injection molded.
- 13. The holder of claim 9 wherein said planar surface is pie-shaped.
- 14. The holder of claim 9 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 15. The holder of claim 9 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 16. The holder of claim 9 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 17. A rack that is adapted to retain and rotate a plurality of bare CDs, the rack comprising:
a continuous loop formed from a plurality of interlocked holders, each holder including: a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and permanently attached thereto, said holder engaging mechanism adapted to engage an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; a planar surface extending from the base and having a hub adapted to receive an aperture of a bare CD; and wherein a holder-engaging mechanism of a first holder nests in a holder-engaging mechanism of an adjacent holder; and wherein each holder can be interlocked with two adjacent holders via the holder engaging mechanism.
- 18. The rack of claim 17 further including:
said planar surface including a second hub which is adapted to retain a second aperture of a second bare CD.
- 19. The rack of claim 17 further including:
said hub includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 20. The rack of claim 17, wherein the holder and the holder engaging mechanism are injection molded.
- 21. The rack of claim 17 wherein said planar surface is pie-shaped.
- 22. The rack of claim 17 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 23. The rack of claim 17 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 24. The rack of claim 17 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 25. A holder that can hold a bare CD and other like disk-shaped items and usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and permanently attached thereto, said holder engaging mechanism adapted to engage an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; a first planar surface extending from the base and adapted to receive a bare CD; and wherein said first planar surface includes a hub which is adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD; and a second planar surface extending from the base and adapted to receive a bare CD; and wherein said second planar surface includes a second hub which is adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD; and wherein each holder can be interlocked with two adjacent holders via the holder engaging mechanism.
- 26. The holder of claim 25 wherein said first planar surface is located to one side of the second planar surface.
- 27. The holder of claim 25 wherein said first planar surface and said second planar surface are in the same plane.
- 28. The holder of claim 25 wherein said first planar surface and said second planar surface are continuous.
- 29. The holder of claim 25 wherein said first planar surface is located above said second planar surface.
- 30. The holder of claim 25, wherein at least one of the first hub and the second hub include a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 31. The holder of claim 25, wherein the holder and the holder engaging mechanism are injection molded.
- 32. The holder of claim 25 wherein at least one of the first planar surface and the second planar surface is pie-shaped.
- 33. The holder of claim 25 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 34. The holder of claim 25 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 35. The holder of claim 25 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 36. A rack that is adapted to retain and rotate a plurality of bare CDs, the rack comprising:
a continuous loop formed from a plurality of interlocked holders, each holder including:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism extending therefrom and permanently attached thereto, said holder engaging mechanism adapted to engage an adjacent holder in order to form the continuous loop; a first planar surface extending from the base and having a first hub adapted to receive an aperture of a bare CD; a second planar surface extending from the base and having a second hub adapted to receive an aperture of a bare CD; and wherein a holder-engaging mechanism of a first holder nests in a holder-engaging mechanism of an adjacent holder; and wherein each holder can be interlocked with two other holders via the holder engaging mechanism.
- 37. The rack of claim 36, wherein at least one of the first hub and the second hub include a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 38. The rack of claim 36, wherein the holder and the holder engaging mechanism are injection molded.
- 39. The rack of claim 36 wherein at least one of the first planar surface and the second planar surface is pie-shaped.
- 40. The rack of claim 36 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 41. The rack of claim 36 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 42. The rack of claim 36 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 43. A holder usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a structure adapted to frictionally engage an aperture of at least one object to be retained by the holder; a holder engaging mechanism extending from the structure, the holder-engaging mechanism adapted to interlock adjacent holders; wherein each holder can be interlocked with two adjacent holders via the holder engaging mechanism; and wherein the holder engaging mechanism is permanently attached to the structure.
- 44. The holder of claim 43 further including:
the structure includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 45. The holder of claim 43, wherein the holder and the holder engaging mechanism are injection molded.
- 46. The holder of claim 43 wherein said structure is pie-shaped.
- 47. The holder of claim 43 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 48. The holder of claim 43 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 49. The holder of claim 43 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 50. A holder usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a base having a holder engaging mechanism permanently attached thereto, used to interlock adjacent holders; a protruding member disposed on the base having a projection adapted to frictionally engage an aperture of at least one object to be retained by the holder; and wherein each holder can be interlocked with two adjacent holders via the holder engaging mechanism.
- 51. The holder of claim 50 further including:
the protruding member includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 52. The holder of claim 50, wherein the holder and the holder engaging mechanism are injection molded.
- 53. The holder of claim 50 wherein the protruding member is pie-shaped.
- 54. The holder of claim 50 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 55. The holder of claim 50 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 56. The holder of claim 50 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 57. A holder to retain at least one disk-shaped object, the holder adapted to interlock with similar holders to form a continuous loop, each holder comprising:
a base adapted to be located adjacent to an edge of the at least one disk-shaped object and having a holder engaging mechanism permanently attached to the base, the holder engaging mechanism used to interlock with adjacent holders; a member extending from said base; a protruding member disposed on the member having a structure adapted to frictionally engage a center aperture of the at least one disk-shaped object to be retained by the holder; and wherein each holder can be interlocked with two adjacent holders via the holder engaging mechanism.
- 58. The holder of claim 57 further including:
the protruding member includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 59. The holder of claim 57, wherein the holder and the holder engaging mechanism are injection molded.
- 60. The holder of claim 57 wherein the member is pie-shaped.
- 61. The holder of claim 57 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 62. The holder of claim 57 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 63. The holder of claim 57 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 64. A holder usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a base having an interior surface having a holder engaging mechanism to interlock with adjacent holders; a member extending from an exterior surface of the base, the member having a structure adapted to frictionally engage an aperture of at least one object to be retained by the holder; wherein the holder engaging mechanism is permanently attached to the interior surface of the base; and wherein each holder can be interlocked with two adjacent holders via the holder-engaging mechanism.
- 65. The holder of claim 64 further including:
the member includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 66. The holder of claim 64, wherein the holder and the holder engaging mechanism are injection molded.
- 67. The holder of claim 64 wherein the member is pie-shaped.
- 68. The holder of claim 64 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 69. The holder of claim 64 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 70. The holder of claim 64 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
- 71. A holder usable to create a continuous loop formed by interlocking adjacent such holders, the holder comprising:
a structure adapted to frictionally engage an aperture of at least one object to be retained by the holder; and the holder having a first holder-engaging mechanism with a slot located adjacent thereto and a second holder-engaging mechanism having a distal end, which distal end shaped in order to be received in a slot of an adjacent holder; wherein each holder can be interlocked with two adjacent holders via the holder engaging mechanism; and wherein the holder engaging mechanism is permanently attached to the holder.
- 72. The holder of claim 71 further including:
the structure includes a plurality of fingers which are adapted to retain an aperture of a bare CD.
- 73. The holder of claim 71, wherein the holder and the holder engaging mechanism are injection molded.
- 74. The holder of claim 71 wherein the structure is pie-shaped.
- 75. The holder of claim 71 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to interlock with a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder to form a continuous loop.
- 76. The holder of claim 71 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism, which is a male mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism, which is a female mechanism.
- 77. The holder of claim 71 wherein said holder engaging mechanism includes:
a first holder-engaging mechanism; a second holder-engaging mechanism; and wherein said first holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to nest in a second holder-engaging mechanism of a second said holder, and said second holder-engaging mechanism on said holder is adapted to have a first holder-engaging mechanism on a third holder nest in the second holder-engaging mechanism said holder to form a continuous loop.
