Claims
- 1. A centrifugal blower impeller, comprising,
a central hub having a conical section and an outer edge, the conical section being centered with respect to a center axis and extending from the center axis towards the outer edge; a plurality of impeller blades having first and second ends, the conical section of the central hub intersecting the first ends of the impeller blades, the impeller blades extending axially upward from the first ends towards the second ends; and; a rim having a generally circular shape and being connected to the second ends of the impeller blades.
- 2. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 1, wherein the central hub includes a central portion formed at an end of the central hub opposite the outer edge, the central portion having an interface aperture.
- 3. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 2, wherein the interface aperture is a D-shaft interface aperture.
- 4. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 1, wherein the central hub is generally shaped as a right circular cone.
- 5. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 1, wherein the conical section is one of concave and convex.
- 6. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 1, wherein the central hub intersects the plurality of impeller blades at an angle with respect to the center axis.
- 7. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 1, wherein the impeller blades have a blade length and the central hub intersects the plurality of impeller blades through a portion of the blade length.
- 8. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 1, wherein the impeller blades are curved.
- 9. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 1, wherein the rim includes a first portion and a second portion.
- 10. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the first portion is generally parallel to the center axis, and the second portion is generally perpendicular to the center axis, the first and second portions having a generally L-shaped cross-section.
- 11. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 10, wherein the first portion of the rim has a first edge, the first edge being in a common plane with edges of the second ends of the impeller blades.
- 12. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 10, wherein the first portion of the rim has a first edge, the first edge extending past the second ends of the blades.
- 13. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 10, wherein the first portion of the rim has a first edge, the second ends of the blades extending past the first edge.
- 14. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 10, wherein the second portion of the rim has a rim outer edge and each impeller blade has a blade outer edge, the rim outer edge and the blade outer edges being generally equidistance from the center axis.
- 15. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 10, wherein the second portion of the rim has a rim outer edge and each impeller blade has a blade outer edge, the rim outer edge extending past the blade outer edges.
- 16. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 10, wherein the second portion of the rim has a rim outer edge and each impeller blade has a blade outer edge, the blade outer edges extending past the rim outer edge.
- 17. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an inner radius (R1), where 0≦R1≦0.5 millimeters.
- 18. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an inner radius (R1), where 0≦R1≦1.0 millimeters.
- 19. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an inner radius (R1), where 0≦R1≦2.0 millimeters.
- 20. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an inner radius (R1), where 0≦R1≦4.0 millimeters.
- 21. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an inner radius (R1), where 0≦R1≦8.0 millimeters.
- 22. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an outer radius (R2), where 0≦R2≦0.5 millimeters.
- 23. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an outer radius (R2), where 0≦R2≦1.0 millimeters.
- 24. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an outer radius (R2), where R2≦2.0 millimeters.
- 25. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an outer radius (R2), where 0≦R2≦4.0 millimeters.
- 26. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an outer radius (R2), where 0≦R2≦8.0 millimeters.
- 27. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an outer radius (R2), where R2=0.25 millimeters.
- 28. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has a radial length (A) and the blades have a blade length (C), where 0.1≦(A/C)≦1.0.
- 29. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has a radial length (A) and the blades have a blade length (C), where 0.2≦(A/C)≦1.0.
- 30. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has a radial length (A) and the blades have a blade length (C), where 0.3≦(A/C)≦1.0.
- 31. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has a radial length (A) and the blades have a blade length (C), where 0.4≦(A/C)≦1.0.
- 32. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has a radial length (A) and the blades have a blade length (C), where 0.5≦(A/C)≦1.0.
- 33. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has a radial length (A) and the blades have a blade length (C), where A/C=0.4
- 34. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has a radial length (A) and the blades have a blade length (C), where A/C=0.5
- 35. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an axial length into the blade (B) and the blades have a blade height (D), where 0.05≦(BID)≦0.4.
- 36. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an axial length into the blade (B) and the blades have a blade height (D), where 0.1≦(B/D)≦0.4.
- 37. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 9, wherein the rim has an axial length into the blade (B) and the blades have a blade height (D), where B/D=0.23.
- 38. A centrifugal blower impeller, comprising,
a central hub having a conical section and an outer edge, the conical section being centered with respect to a center axis and extending from the center axis towards the outer edge; a plurality of impeller blades having first and second ends, the conical section of the central hub coupled to the first ends of the impeller blades, the impeller blades extending axially upward from the first ends towards the second ends; and; a rim having a generally circular shape and being connected to the second ends of the impeller blades, the rim having a first portion and a second portion, first portion being generally parallel to the center axis and the second portion being generally perpendicular to the center axis, the first and second portions having a generally L-shaped cross-section.
- 39. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the central hub includes a central portion formed at an end of the central hub opposite the outer edge, the central portion having an interface aperture.
- 40. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 39, wherein the interface aperture is a D-shaft interface aperture.
- 41. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the central hub is generally shaped as a right cone.
- 42. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the conical section is one of concave and convex.
- 43. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the central hub intersects the plurality of impeller blades.
- 44. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 43, wherein the central hub intersects the plurality of impeller blades at an angle with respect to the center axis.
- 45. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 43, wherein the impeller blades have a blade length and the central hub intersects the plurality of impeller blades through a portion of the blade length.
- 46. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the impeller blades are curved.
- 47. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the first portion of the rim has a first edge, the first edge being in a common plane with edges of the second ends of the impeller blades.
- 48. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the second portion of the rim has a rim outer edge, each impeller blade has a blade outer edge, the rim outer edge and the blade outer edges being generally equidistance from the center axis.
- 49. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the rim has an inner radius (R1), where 0≦R1≦0.5 millimeters.
- 50. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the rim has an inner radius (R1), where 0≦R1≦1.0 millimeters.
- 51. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the rim has an inner radius (R1), where 0≦R1≦2.0 millimeters.
- 52. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the rim has an inner radius (R1), where 0≦R1≦4.0 millimeters.
- 53. A centrifugal blower impeller, as set forth in claim 38, wherein the rim has an inner radius (R1), where 0≦R1≦8.0 millimeters.
