Claims
- 1. A centrifuge bucket, comprising:a bucket body; a holder plate mounted within the body, the holder plate having a plurality of holder openings therein to receive samples; a bottom support member having a plurality of support openings, each of the support openings precisely aligned with a respective holder opening; and an alignment post mechanism affixed to the bucket, the alignment post mechanism having a mechanism base disposed on the bottom support member and an alignment post attached to the mechanism base; wherein the alignment post is tapered from its largest cross-sectional area at the mechanism base to its smallest cross-sectional area at its distal end.
- 2. The centrifuge bucket of claim 1, wherein the bottom support member is molded epoxy.
- 3. The centrifuge bucket of claim 1, and further comprising:a bucket stop, comprising: a stop bracket connected to the bucket body; and a stop pin positioned on the stop bracket to limit the rotation of the centrifuge bucket.
- 4. A centrifuge bucket, comprising:a bucket body; a holder plate mounted within the body, the holder plate having a plurality of holder openings therein to receive samples; a bottom support member having a plurality of support openings, each of the support openings precisely aligned with a respective holder opening; and an alignment post mechanism affixed to the bucket, the alignment post mechanism having a mechanism base disposed on the bottom support member and an alignment post attached to the mechanism base; wherein the alignment post has a rubber mating piece thereon which is tapered.
- 5. The centrifuge bucket of claim 4, wherein the bottom support member is molded epoxy.
- 6. The centrifuge bucket of claim 4, and further comprising:a bucket stop, comprising: a stop bracket connected to the bucket body; and a stop pin positioned on the stop bracket to limit the rotation of the centrifuge bucket.
- 7. A centrifuge bucket, comprising:a bucket body; a holder plate mounted within the body, the holder plate having a plurality of holder openings therein to receive samples; a bottom support member having a plurality of support openings, each of the support openings precisely aligned with a respective holder opening; an alignment post mechanism affixed to the bucket, the alignment post mechanism having a mechanism base disposed on the bottom support member and an alignment post attached to the base; wherein the alignment post is positioned to fit into an opening of a loader head of an automated sample loading and unloading machine; and, wherein the alignment post is positioned in the center of the centrifuge bucket.
- 8. The centrifuge bucket of claim 7, wherein the bottom support member is molded epoxy.
- 9. The centrifuge bucket of claim 7, and further comprising:a bucket stop, comprising: a stop bracket connected to the bucket body; and a stop pin positioned on the stop bracket to limit the rotation of the centrifuge bucket.
