Claims
- 1. A ceramic implant comprising a sintered body of zirconia and a coating layer of a porous sintered body of a mixture comprising .alpha.-tricalcium phosphate and zirconia, formed on the surface of the sintered body of zirconia.
- 2. The ceramic implant according to claim 1 wherein the weight ratio of zirconia to .alpha.-tricalcium phosphate is within the range of from 0.05-20.
- 3. The ceramic implant according to claim 1 wherein the weight ratio of zirconia to .alpha.-tricalcium phosphate is within the range of from 0.1-2.5.
- 4. The ceramic implant according to claim 1 wherein the sintered body of zirconia has a flexural strength of at least 100 kgf/mm.sup.2 and a Weibull coefficient of at least 10.
- 5. The ceramic implant according to claim 1 wherein the sintered body of zirconia has a flexural strength of at least 120 kgf/mm.sup.2 and a Weibull coefficient of at least 15.
- 6. The ceramic implant according to claim 2 wherein the sintered body of zirconia has a flexural strength of at least 100 kgf/mm.sup.2 and a Weibull coefficient of at least 10.
- 7. The ceramic implant according to claim 3 wherein the sintered body of zirconia has a flexural strength of at least 120 kgf/mm.sup.2 and a Weibull coefficient of at least 15.
