These and other features and advantages of this invention will become apparent in the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments of this invention, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Before the present invention is described in greater detail in connection with the preferred embodiments, it should be noted that similar elements and structures are designated by like reference numerals throughout the entire disclosure.
Referring to
The chain plate 1 in this embodiment includes a gourd-shaped plate body 2 and first and second wings 3, 3′.
The plate body 2 has a first side surface 21 facing the abutment plate (i.e., the adjacent inner chain plate) 61, a second side surface 22 opposite to the first side surface 21, an annular peripheral surface 23 interconnecting outer peripheries of the first and second side surfaces 21, 22, a through hole 24 extending from the first side surface 21 to the second side surface 22, an inner surrounding surface 25 extending from the first side surface 21 to the second side surface 22 to define a retaining hole 26, two notches 27 formed between the second side surface 22 and the inner surrounding surface 25, and a flange 28 extending inwardly from the inner surrounding surface 25, adjacent to the first side surface 21, and spaced apart from the second side surface 22. The first side surface 21 of the plate body 2 is spaced apart from the abutment plate 61.
The peripheral surface 23 has first and second ends 231, 231′ opposite to each other in a longitudinal direction (L), and two middle portions 232. The inner surrounding surface 25 has a curved mounting portion 251 proximate to the through hole 24, and a curved positioning portion 252 distal from the through hole 24. The positioning portion 252 has two opposite positioning ends 253 (see
Each of the notches 27 is disposed between the mounting portion 251 and the positioning portion 252, and is defined by a curved bridging surface portion 271 extending downwardly from the second side surface 22, and a flat sliding surface portion 272 parallel to the first and second side surfaces 21, 22. The sliding surface portion 272 is disposed on a plane between the second side surface 22 and the flange 28. The inner surrounding surface 25, the notches 27, and the flange 28 cooperate to allow the link pin 5 to be assembled to the chain plate 1. Since the detailed structures of the inner surrounding surface 25, the notches 27, and the flange 28 are not pertinent to the claimed invention, a description thereof will be omitted herein for the sake of brevity.
The first and second wings 3, 3′ extend respectively and integrally from the first and second ends 231, 231′ of the peripheral surface 23 away from each other in the longitudinal direction (L), and has the same thickness as the plate body 2. Each of the first and second wings 3, 3′ has a first side surface 31, 31′ facing the abutment plate 61, and a second side surface 32, 32′ opposite to and parallel to the first side surface 31, 31′. The first side surfaces 31, 31′ are spaced apart from the abutment plate 61 by a minimal distance that is smaller than the distance between the first side surface 21 of the plate body 2 and the abutment plate 61. That is, the first side surfaces 31, 31′ of the first and second wings 3, 3′ are in slidable contact with the abutment surface 61. The second side surfaces 32, 32′ of the first and second wings 3, 3′ are spaced apart from and parallel to the second side surface 22 of the plate body 2, and are disposed on a plane that is located between the first and second side surfaces 21, 22 of the plate body 2. Alternatively, the second side surfaces 32, 32′ of the first and second wings 3, 3′ may be aligned with the second surface 22 of the plate body 2.
With further reference to
Since the first and second wings 3, 3′ are kept in slidable contact with the abutment plates 61, relative movement between the chain plates 1 and the abutment plates 61, which would result in collision therebetween, is minimized. Thus, the object of this invention is achieved. It should be noted that, when the chain plate 1 of this invention is formed with only one wing 3, 3′, the object of this invention can also be achieved.
Referring to
With this invention thus explained, it is apparent that numerous modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope and spirit of this invention. It is therefore intended that this invention be limited only as indicated by the appended claims.
