Abstract
The claimed invention provides a new, stylish and useful way of layering necklace jewelry so as to avoid tangles between necklaces and to reduce the complication of untangling tangled necklaces.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to chains for jewelry. More specifically, the invention relates to an improved jewelry chain with double clasps.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Individuals frequently wear multiple jewelry items at once. It is particularly fashionable to wear multiple chains or necklaces at the same time. Unfortunately, when chains or necklaces are worn at the same time, they frequently become tangled, which can be unsightly. Additionally, tangled necklaces changes can be very inconvenient to untangle. What is needed is a way to reduce the likelihood that the chains become tangled when worn and to improve the ease with which they can be untangled.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention provides a unique chain with a clasp at each end, the clasp being specially adapted to attach to another chain or necklace. According to the invention, the second chain or necklace will then drape lower on the wearer to avoid entanglement with the other chain. Additional embodiments may include the use of two or even more chains in addition to the chain that is around the wearer's neck Additionally, if the two or more chains become entangled, it will be easier to untangle the chains by simply unclasping the chains and removing them from the main chain.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Now referring to FIG. 1, wherein like reference numerals refer to like elements, FIG. 1 shows a jewelry chain 1. The inventive jewelry chain 11 is comprised of a jewelry chain 1. Jewelry chain 11 is further comprised of chain extensions 3 fixed at one or preferably both ends of the jewelry chain 1. Chain extensions 3 can be of a similar chain pattern or can be different from jewelry chain 1. Chain extensions 3 can also be of variable length. At the other end of each chain extension 3 is a clasp 5. Clasp 5 is adapted to be attached to either another chain (not shown) or the clasp 5 at the other end of jewelry chain. Chain extensions 3 typically feature at least one slightly larger attachment chain link 7. Attachment chain link 7 is designed to accommodate the clasp of another necklace 9. Necklace 9 also comprises a clasp 5 on each end. Clasps are used to attach to attachment chain loop 7 of chain extension 3. Thus necklace 9 sits below necklace 1 creating a fashionable layered look, but avoiding or reducing the potential for tangled necklaces and making the process of untangling the necklaces easier and more convenient.

In application, the dual clasp necklace comprises a main necklace section having a first end and a second end; at first necklace extension section, the first necklace extension section being attached to the first end of the main necklace section and comprising a first attachment link and a second end comprising a clasp; a second necklace extension section, the second necklace extension section being attached to the second end of the main necklace section and comprising a second attachment link and a second end comprising a clasp; and a second necklace, the second necklace having a first end comprising a clasp that is removably attachable to the attachment chain link in the first necklace extension and a second end comprising a clasp that is removably attachable to the attachment chain link in the second necklace extension. This second necklace generally drapes lower than the first necklace, providing a stylish addition to the main necklace.

While the invention has been described with reference to specific embodiments, the description is illustrative of the invention and is not to be construed as limiting. Various modifications and applications of the invention may occur to those with skill in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
