The present invention relates to a chair with cold protection hand pockets, and more particularly to a chair having cold protection hand pockets provided on two armrests thereof.
Living in the modern society, leisure activities have become very important to people who are fatigued with hard work everyday and accumulated pressure. People try to remove their pressure and fatigue through contact with the nature during leisure activities. Therefore, various kinds of products in connection with leisure and outdoor activities have been designed and developed for consumers.
While the currently commercially available folding leisure chair 1 is collapsible to largely reduce its volume for convenient storage and good portability, it serves only as a chair without other functions, such as protecting a user's hands against cold and wind, and therefore fails to satisfy the users in terms of its use in outdoor leisure activities.
It is therefore desirable to develop a leisure chair with cold protection hand pockets, so that the leisure chair is more practical for use.
A primary object of the present invention is to provide a chair with cold protection hand pockets, whereby when the chair is used outdoors, a user sitting on the chair may extend two hands into the cold protection hand pockets to protect hands against cold and wind while keeping hands warm.
To achieve the above and other objects, the chair with cold protection hand pockets according to the present invention includes a chair body and a base located below the chair body to support the latter at a predetermined height from the ground. The chair body includes a seat for a user to sit on, a backrest upward extended from a rear edge of the seat for resting the user's back, and two armrests forward extended from the backrest to locate above two lateral sides of the seat. The chair is characterized by two cold protection hand pockets provided on front ends of the two armrests. Each of the cold protection hand pockets has a hand-cover portion and a connection portion, and the hand-cover portion encloses a receiving space having an inlet opening, via which a user may extend one hand into the receiving space.
The cold protection hand pockets are turnable at the connection portions to selectively move the hand-cover portions between a vertically suspended and downward pointed position and a freely adjustable hand covering position.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the cold protection hand pockets is formed of a first fabric sheet and a second fabric sheet, which are sewed together along part of their edges. The first fabric sheet has a first section, which is located corresponding to the second fabric sheet and cooperates with the latter to define the receiving space between them, and a second section, which is upward located beyond the second fabric sheet and forms the connection portion.
Further, the seat, the backrest and the armrests of the chair body are made of a soft fabric material and the base is in the form of a collapsible frame. Therefore, the chair body can be selectively set into an extended state for the user to sit on simply by extending the collapsible frame of the base, or into a collapsed state for convenient storage by collapsing the collapsible frame of the base.
The base includes four sets of scissor linkages, which are correspondingly located at a front, a rear, a left and a right side of the base. The four sets of scissor linkages are pivotally connected with one another by pivotally connecting their lower ends to four foot supports and their upper ends to four pivotal joints, so as to form the collapsible frame. The collapsible frame further includes two back poles, which respectively have a lower section and an upper section. The lower sections of the back poles are downwardly extended through two rear ones of the four pivotal joints to connect to two rear ones of the foot supports.
However, the upper ends of the front one of the four scissor linkages are upward extended and then laterally outward bent to provide two armrest supports.
Further, the chair body is formed of a third fabric sheet and a fourth fabric sheet upward extended from the third fabric sheet. The third fabric sheet is located on the pivotal joints with two front corners of the third fabric sheet fitted on around the two upper ends of the front scissor linkage and two rear corners fitted on around the two back poles, such that the third fabric sheet forms the seat. The fourth fabric sheet has two lateral sides fitted on around the upper sections of the back poles to thereby form the backrest.
The armrests are respectively formed of a fifth fabric sheet. The fifth fabric sheets are connected at their front ends to the armrest supports of the collapsible frame with their rear ends fitted on around the back poles.
The chair of the present invention is characterized in having two cold protection hand pockets. The cold protection hand pockets are connected to the front ends of the armrests, and respectively enclose a receiving space for receiving a hand therein. When the chair is used outdoors, the user may rest two arms on the armrests with two hands extended into the receiving spaces of the cold protection hand pockets to achieve the purpose of protecting hands against cold and wind while keeping hands warm.

In the illustrated preferred embodiment, the cold protection hand pocket 40 each is formed by sewing a first fabric sheet 45 and a second fabric sheet 46 together along part of their edges. The first fabric sheet 45 has a first section 451, which is located corresponding to the second fabric sheet 46 and cooperates with the latter to define the receiving space 44 between them, and a second section 452, which is upward located beyond the second fabric sheet 46 and forms the connection portion 42.

The base 30 includes four sets of scissor linkages 32, which are correspondingly located at a front, a rear, a left and a right side of the base 30. The four sets of scissor linkages 32 are pivotally connected at their lower ends to four foot supports 33 and at their upper ends to four pivotal joints 34, so as to pivotally connect with one another and form the collapsible frame 31. The collapsible frame 31 can further include two back poles 35, which respectively have a lower section 351 and an upper section 352. The lower sections 351 of the back poles 35 are downwardly extended through two rear ones of the pivotal joints 34 to connect to two rear ones of the foot supports 33, so that the collapsible frame 31 can be collapsed from an extended state through manipulating the two back poles 35 for convenient storage. The upper ends of the front one of the scissor linkages 32 are upward extended and then laterally outward bent to provide two armrest supports 321.
The chair body 20 is formed of a third fabric sheet 24 and a fourth fabric sheet 25 upward extended from a rear side of the third fabric sheet 24. The third fabric sheet 24 is located on the pivotal joints 34 with two front corners of the third fabric sheet 24 fitted on around the two upper ends of the front scissor linkage 32 and two rear corners fitted on around the two back poles 35, such that the third fabric sheet 24 forms the seat 21. The fourth fabric sheet 25 has two lateral sides fitted on around the upper sections 352 of the back poles 35, such that the fourth fabric sheet 25 forms the backrest 22.
The armrests 23 are respectively formed of a fifth fabric sheet 26. The fifth fabric sheets 26 are connected at their front ends to the armrest supports 321 with their rear ends fitted on around the back poles 35.
In summary, the present invention provides a chair with cold protection hand pockets. The cold protection hand pockets are connected to the front ends of the armrests, and respectively enclose a receiving space having an inlet opening. When the chair is used outdoors, the user may rest two arms on the armrests with two hands extended through the inlet openings into the receiving spaces of the cold protection hand pockets to achieve the purpose of protecting hands against cold and wind.
