Claims
- 1. A method comprising the steps of:
storing predetermined data; establishing a channel selection profile comprising a plurality of channel selections, wherein each channel selection is derived from a subset of the predetermined data; and transmitting at least a portion of the predetermined data over at least a first channel selected from the channel selection profile.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein each channel selection is derived from a unique subset of the predetermined data
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of transmitting commences after a predetermined condition is satisfied.
- 4. The method of claim 3 further comprising the step of receiving a power level, and wherein the predetermined condition is satisfied when the power level exceeds a predetermined threshold.
- 5. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of ceasing the step of transmitting when a predetermined condition is satisfied.
- 6. The method of claim 5 further comprising the step of receiving a power level, and wherein the predetermined condition is satisfied when the power level exceeds a predetermined threshold.
- 7. The method of claim 5 further comprising the step of receiving a power level, and wherein the predetermined condition is satisfied when the power level falls below a predetermined threshold.
- 8. The method of claim 1 wherein a first channel selection in the channel selection profile is selected from a first set of channels, and a second channel selection in the channel selection profile is selected from a second set of channels, wherein a number of channels in the first set of channels is different from a number of channels in the second set of channels.
- 9. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of randomizing the predetermined data prior to establishing the channel selection profile.
- 10. The method of claim 9 wherein the step of randomizing is based on at least one of the following algorithms: a scrambling algorithm, an encryption algorithm
- 11. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of transmitting utilizes spread spectrum modulation.
- 12. The method of claim 1 wherein the plurality of channel selections are uniformly distributed.
- 13. A device comprising:
a storage medium for storing predetermined data; a channel selector, coupled to the storage medium, for generating a channel selection profile comprising a plurality of channel selections, wherein each channel selection is derived from a subset of the predetermined data; and a transmitter, coupled to the storage medium, for transmitting at least a portion of the predetermined data over at least a first channel selected from the channel selection profile.
- 14. The device of claim 13 wherein the first channel selected from the channel selection profile is orthogonal to a second channel selected from the channel selection profile.
- 15. The device of claim 13 wherein the first channel selected from the channel selection profile is quasi-orthogonal to a second channel selected from the channel selection profile.
- 16. The device of claim 13 wherein a channel selected from the channel selection profile utilizes a specially augmented pseudonoise sequence.
- 17. The device of claim 13 wherein the device is at least one of the following: an active device, and a passive device.
- 18. A system comprising a plurality of first devices in communication with a second device, wherein each first device stores predetermined data, establishes a channel selection profile comprising a plurality of channel selections, and transmits at least a portion of the predetermined data over at least a first channel selected from the channel selection profile, and wherein each channel selection is derived from a subset of the predetermined data, and wherein at least two first devices transmit synchronously.
- 19. The system of claim 18 wherein at least two first devices transmit simultaneously.
- 20. The system of claim 18 wherein the second device performs a collision mitigation technique.
- 21. The system of claim 18 wherein at least one first device continues to transmit at least a portion of the predetermined data over a channel selected from the channel selection profile for a number of passes, wherein a new channel is selected during each pass.
- 22. The system of claim 21 wherein the second device controls the number of passes.
- 23. The system of claim 21 wherein the number of passes is known a priori to the second device.
