Claims
- 1. A character information processor for printing one or more lines of input characters on a printing medium comprising:
- half-size fetching means for taking in a space, which is input by keying similarly as an ordinary character, as a half-size space to be treated as a space of a width, which is half of the width of the ordinary character; and
- print control means for controlling a printing operation by securing a space of a width, which is half of the width of the ordinary character, in a character string to be printed when the character string contains a half-size space.
- 2. The character information processor according to claim 1, which further comprises full-size space fetching means for taking in a space input for adjusting a position of a character of a character string of a lower line to a position of a character of a character string of a higher line as a full size space to be treated as a space of a width equal to a width of a character, wherein the print control means controls a printing operation by securing a space of a width equal to a width of a character in a character string to be printed when the character string contains a full size space.
- 3. The character information processor according to claim 2, wherein said full-size space fetching means comprises:
- storage means for storing a full-size space as a symbol, together with predetermined kinds of symbols; and
- selectively inputting means for selecting one of the symbols stored in the storage means and for providing an instruction to input the selected one of the symbols,
- wherein when the selectively inputting means provides an instruction to select and input a full-size space, the full-size space fetching means takes in the selected full-size space.
- 4. The character information processor according to claim 2, which further comprises space display control means for displaying a half-size space in a width equal to the width of a character when the half-size space is contained in an input character string, and for displaying a full-size space in a width equal to the width of a character and in a manner different from a manner in which a half-size space is displayed, when the half-size is contained in an input character string.
- 5. The character information processor according to claim 3, which further comprises space display control means for displaying a half-size space in a width equal to the width of a character when the half-size space is contained in an input character string, and for displaying a full-size space in a width equal to the width of a character and in a manner different from a manner in which a half-size space is displayed, when the half-size is contained in an input character string.
- 6. A character information processing and printing method comprising:
- inputting one or more lines of input characters to be printed on a printing medium;
- said inputting including fetching of a half-size space by keying similarly as an ordinary character wherein the width of the half-size space is half of the width of an ordinary character; and
- printing the one or more lines of input characters including controlling a printing operation in response to the half-size space to provide a space which has a width half of the width of the ordinary character when the one or more lines of input characters contain a half-size space.
- 7. A character information processor for printing one or more lines of input characters on a printing medium comprising:
- an entry portion for manually entering successive characters forming a character string including the selecting of a space similarly as an ordinary character but wherein the space has a width which is half of the width of an ordinary character; and
- a print controller for controlling a printing operation to print the character string on the printing medium including the forming of a space which is half of a size of the ordinary character in response to the half-size space during printing of in the character string.
- 8. The character information processor according to claim 2, wherein the each of the full-size space and the half-size space include leading and trailing character separation spaces, and, when one of the full-size and half-size space is input as a head or tail of a character string, the corresponding leading or trailing character separation is omitted by the print control means.
- 9. The character information processor according to claim 7, which further comprises full-size space fetching means for taking in a space input for adjusting a position of a character of a character string of a lower line to a position of a character of a character string of a higher line as a full size space to be treated as a space of a width equal to a width of a character, and wherein the print controller controls a printing operation by securing a space of a width equal to a width of a character in a character string to be printed when the character string contains a full size space.
- 10. The character information processor according to claim 9, wherein the each of the full-size space and the half-size space include leading and trailing character separation spaces, and, when one of the full-size and half-size space is input as a head or tail of a character string, the corresponding leading or trailing character separation is omitted by the print controller.
