Claims
- 1. A charging control apparatus of an AC generator for a vehicle driven by an engine having a stator winding and a field winding and charging a battery, comprising:
- switching means connected in series to the field winding;
- comparing means for detecting a voltage of the battery and comparing the battery voltage with a sawtooth wave of a predetermined period;
- memory means for storing a value regarding a duty factor of an output of the comparing means at said predetermined period;
- control value increasing/decreasing means for comparing the value stored in the memory means and a control value, for increasing the control value at said predetermined period when the control value is smaller than the stored value, for decreasing the control value when the control value is larger than the stored value, and for outputting the control value; and
- AND means for calculating an AND of a value corresponding to the control value which is outputted from the control value increasing/decreasing means and an output of the comparing means,
- wherein the switching means is controlled by an output of the AND means.
- 2. A charging control apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the memory means is an analog to digital (A/D) converter for digitally converting the value regarding the duty factor of the output of the comparing means at said predetermined period,
- the control value increasing/decreasing means comprises an up/down counter and a comparator, the comparator comparing the A/D converted value with the control value as an output of the up/down counter, and the up/down counter being counted up or down at said predetermined period in accordance with the output of the comparator.
- 3. A charging control apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the control value from the control value increasing/decreasing means is pulse width converted by a pule width converting circuit, the pulse width converted signal being inputted to the AND means.
- 4. A charging control apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the comparing means compares a value corresponding to a difference between the battery voltage and a reference voltage with the sawtooth wave of the predetermined period and outputs a signal of a duty factor of the predetermined period.
- 5. A charging control method of controlling by switching means a field current flowing through a field winding of an AC generator for a vehicle which is driven by an engine and charges a battery, comprising the steps of:
- detecting a voltage of the battery, comparing a value corresponding to a difference between the battery voltage and a predetermined reference voltage with a sawtooth wave of a predetermined period, and obtaining a value regarding a duty factor in a result of a comparison;
- storing the value regarding the duty factor in the result of said comparison at said predetermined period;
- comparing the stored value with a control value, increasing the control value at said predetermined period when the control value is smaller than the stored value, and decreasing the control value when the control value is larger than the stored value;
- calculating an AND of a value corresponding to the increased or decreased control value and an output of the comparing means; and
- controlling a duty factor with which the switching means operates by the result of said AND.
