Claims
- 1. An apparatus, comprising:a chassis including a first plate mounting bracket and a second plate mounting bracket, said chassis defining a first module bay and a second module bay; a modular repositionable plate removably connected to said first plate mounting bracket and removably connectable to either said first plate mounting bracket or said second plate mounting bracket; and a module inserted and positioned at least in part within said first module bay, coupled to said repositionable plate, and separatable from said repositionable plate while said repositionable plate remains removably connected to said first plate mounting bracket allowing replacement of only a part that needs replacements, wherein said modular repositionable plate includes an optical feedthrough.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said repositionable plate is removable without tools.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein said repositionable plate includes a plurality of manually actuatable fasteners.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said repositionable plate includes a plurality of ventilation slots.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said repositionable plate is reconfigurable.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising another module coupled to said chassis and located in said second module bay.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said first module bay and said second module bay are adjacent, and, further comprising another module coupled to said chassis and located in said second module bay.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a rack coupled to said chassis.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said chassis includes an intersection board.
- 10. A method, comprising:providing a chassis with a first plate mounting bracket and a second plate mounting bracket, said chassis defining a first module bay and a second module bay; connecting a modular repositionable plate to said first plate mounting bracket, said repositionable plate removable from said first plate mounting bracket and removably connectable to either said first plate mounting bracket or said second plate mounting bracket; inserting and positioning a module at least in part within said first module bay; and coupling the module to said repositionable plate, wherein the module is separatable from said repositionable plate while the repositionable plate remains connected to the first plate mounting bracket allowing replacement of only a part that needs replacement and said modular repositionable plate includes an optical feedthrough.
- 11. The method of claim 10, wherein said repositionable plate is connected to said first plate mounting bracket without tools.
- 12. The method of claim 11, wherein said repositionable plate is connected to said first plate mounting bracket with manually actuatable fasteners.
- 13. The method of claim 10, further comprising coupling said chassis to a rack.
- 14. The method of claim 10, further comprising conducting data through the optical feedthrough.
- 15. A kit, comprising:a chassis including a first plate mounting bracket and a second plate mounting bracket, said chassis defining a first module bay and a second module bay; a modular repositionable plate removably connected to said first plate mounting bracket and removably connectable to either said first plate mounting bracket or said second plate mounting bracket; and a module inserted and positioned at least in part within said first module bay, coupled to said repositionable plate, and separatable from said repositionable plate while said repositionable plate remains removably coupled to said first plate mounting bracket allowing replacement of only a part that needs replacement, wherein said modular repositionable plate includes an optical feedthrough.
- 16. The kit of claim 15, further comprising a rack coupled to said chassis.
- 17. The kit of claim 15, wherein said chassis includes an intersection board.
