Claims
- 1. A confectionary board game for use in playing a game by at least one player, said confectionary board game comprising:
a plurality of playing pieces made of an edible material; and a package configured to contain said plurality of playing pieces, said package having a top cover, and a bottom cover; wherein said package includes a playing board integrally formed thereon for defining a playing area to be used with said plurality of playing pieces to play said game, such that the playing board may be used without modification of the package.
- 2. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the playing pieces include a first set of playing pieces and a second set of playing pieces.
- 3. The confectionary board game of claim 2, wherein the playing pieces are cookies.
- 4. The confectionary board game of claim 3, wherein the first set of playing pieces are chocolate cookies.
- 5. The confectionary board game of claim 4, wherein the second set of playing pieces are vanilla cookies.
- 6. The confectionary board game of claim 2, wherein the first set of playing pieces and the second set of playing pieces each comprise movement pieces and strategy pieces.
- 7. The confectionary board game of claim 6, wherein the strategy pieces are differentiated from the movement pieces by indicia.
- 8. The confectionary board game of claim 7, wherein the indicia comprises a crown symbol on the strategy pieces.
- 9. The confectionary board game of claim 6, wherein the strategy pieces are configured to stack on top of the movement pieces.
- 10. The confectionary board game of claim 9, wherein the strategy pieces include at least one groove on the lower surface for receiving a ridge located on an upper surface of said movement pieces.
- 11. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the playing board is located on an external surface of the package.
- 12. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the playing board is located on an internal surface of the package.
- 13. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the playing board is located on a top surface of the bottom cover.
- 14. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the playing board is located on a bottom surface of the bottom cover.
- 15. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the playing board is located on a top surface of the top cover.
- 16. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the playing board is located on a bottom surface of the top cover.
- 17. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the playing board comprises a checkerboard having a number of side-to-side rows with an even number of playing squares in each side-to-side row.
- 18. The confectionary board game of claim 17, wherein the playing board has ten playing squares in each side-to-side row.
- 19. The confectionary board game of claim 17, wherein the playing board has eight playing squares in each side-to-side row.
- 20. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the plurality of playing pieces are each individually wrapped in a transparent wrapping.
- 21. The confectionary board game of claim 20, wherein the transparent wrapping is clear cellophane.
- 22. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein said package further comprises a side having a checkerboard pattern configured such that when a plurality of said packages are arranged in a stack, said checkerboard pattern on each of said packages combines to form a larger checkerboard display.
- 23. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the playing pieces are candy.
- 24. The confectionary board game of claim 1, wherein the playing pieces are unwrapped within said package.
- 25. The confectionary board game of claim 17, wherein the playing board has six playing squares in each side-to-side row.
- 26. The confectionary board game of claim 1, further comprising at least one symbol on said playing board corresponding to a starting position of at least one of said playing pieces.
- 27. A confectionary board game for use in playing a game by at least one player, said confectionary board game comprising:
a plurality of playing pieces; and a package configured to contain said plurality of playing pieces, said package having a top, a bottom, and a side; wherein said side of said package comprises a checkerboard pattern being configured such that when a plurality of said packages are arranged in a stack, said checkerboard pattern on each of said packages combines to form a larger checkerboard display.
- 28. The confectionary board game of claim 27, wherein the playing pieces include a first set of playing pieces and a second set of playing pieces.
- 29. The confectionary board game of claim 28, wherein the playing pieces are cookies.
- 30. The confectionary board game of claim 28, wherein the first set of playing pieces are chocolate cookies.
- 31. The confectionary board game of claim 28, wherein the second set of playing pieces are vanilla cookies.
- 32. The confectionary board game of claim 28, wherein the first set of playing pieces and the second set of playing pieces each comprise movement pieces and strategy pieces.
- 33. The confectionary board game of claim 32, wherein the strategy pieces are differentiated from the movement pieces by indicia.
- 34. The confectionary board game of claim 33, wherein the indicia comprises a crown symbol on the strategy pieces.
- 35. The confectionary board game of claim 32, wherein the strategy pieces are configured to stack on top of the movement pieces.
- 36. The confectionary board game of claim 35, wherein the strategy pieces include at least one groove on the lower surface for receiving a ridge located on an upper surface of said movement pieces.
- 37. The confectionary board game of claim 27, wherein a playing board is provided on the surface of the package for the playing pieces, such that the playing board may be used without modification of the package.
- 38. The confectionary board game of claim 37, wherein the playing board is located on an external surface of the package.
- 39. The confectionary board game of claim 37, wherein the playing board is located on an internal surface of the package.
- 40. The confectionary board game of claim 37, wherein the playing board comprises a checkerboard having a number of side-to-side rows with an even number of playing squares in each side-to-side row.

- 50. A confectionary checker board game for use in playing a game by at least one player, said confectionary checker board game comprising:
a plurality of playing pieces made of a confectionary material, said plurality of playing pieces comprising movement pieces and strategy pieces distinguishable from said movement pieces; and a package configured to contain said plurality of playing pieces, said package including a playing board for defining a playing area to be used with said plurality of playing pieces to play said game; wherein said strategy pieces are used to replace said movement pieces so that stacking said playing pieces on top of each other is not necessary to distinguish the movement pieces from the strategy pieces.
- 51. The confectionary board game of claim 50, wherein the playing pieces include a first set of playing pieces and a second set of playing pieces.
- 52. The confectionary board game of claim 50, wherein the playing pieces are cookies.

a plurality of playing pieces; and a confectionary playing board for defining a playing area to be used with said plurality of playing pieces to play said game, said confectionary playing board being constructed of an edible material; wherein said confectionary playing board may be eaten by said at least one player.

- 86. A confectionary board game for use in playing a game by at least one player, said confectionary board game comprising:
a plurality of playing pieces made of an edible material, said plurality of playing pieces being individually wrapped with a transparent wrapping so that said plurality of playing pieces can be seen through said transparent wrapping; and a package configured to contain said plurality of playing pieces, said package including a playing board for defining a playing area to be used with said plurality of playing pieces to play said game.
- 87. The confectionary board game of claim 86, wherein the playing pieces include a first set of playing pieces and a second set of playing pieces.
- 88. The confectionary board game of claim 87, wherein the playing pieces are cookies.
- 89. The confectionary board game of claim 88, wherein the first set of playing pieces are chocolate cookies.

- 111. A method of playing a board game between two opponents involving both strategy and the consumption of confectionary game pieces, comprising the steps of:
(a) providing a game board having borders defined by a first player end, a second player end and two sides, the game board having aligned forward-backward and side-to-side rows of playing spaces, respectively; (b) providing a plurality of playing pieces, the playing pieces being divided into a first set of playing pieces and a second set of playing pieces; the first set of playing pieces and the second set of playing pieces each including a number of movement pieces and a number of strategy pieces; (c) placing the movement pieces of each first and second set in a predetermined starting configuration on the playing spaces of the game board with movement pieces of the first set being placed in side-to-side rows adjacent the first player end and movement pieces of the second set being placed in rows adjacent to the second player end; (d) moving the movement pieces about the game board to unoccupied playing spaces in accordance with predetermined rules, the movement pieces being moveable to jump and thereby capture the playing pieces of an opponent, the first and second sets of playing pieces each including a number of distinguishable strategy pieces, the movement pieces of each of the first and second set being replaceable by the strategy pieces of the respective first or second set when the movement piece has moved forwardly across the game board to a side-to-side row immediately adjacent to the corresponding player end, the strategy piece then moving about the game board in accordance with the predetermined rules; and (e) consuming the opponent's playing piece when the opponent's playing piece has been captured.
- 112. The method of claim 111, further comprising the step of placing the strategy pieces of each set in the possession of the opponent, prior to the commencement of the game.
- 113. The method of claim 112, further comprising the step of consuming the opponent's strategy pieces that are not used to replace movement pieces during the game.
- 114. The method of claim 111, further comprising providing twelve movement pieces in each set.
- 115. The method of claim 111, further comprising providing six strategy movement pieces in each set.
- 116. The method of claim 111, wherein the predetermined starting configuration on the playing spaces of the game board of the movement pieces of the first set and second set are on alternating playing squares of the side-to-side rows adjacent the first player end and second player end of the game board.
- 117. The method of claim 111, wherein the predetermined rules further provide that movement pieces may be moved forward across the game board on adjacent alternating playing squares.
- 118. The method of claim 111, wherein the predetermined rules further provide that movement pieces may jump over an opponent's movement pieces onto an unoccupied adjacent alternating playing square, to thereby capture the opponent's movement piece.
- 119. The method of claim 111, wherein the predetermined rules further provide that strategy pieces may be moved forward or backward onto adjacent alternating squares.
- 120. The method of claim 111, wherein the predetermined rules further provide that strategy pieces may be moved to an unoccupied alternating square in the same side-to-side row, across one adjacent playing square.
- 121. The method of claim 111, wherein the predetermined rules further provide that strategy pieces may jump over an opponent's playing pieces onto an unoccupied adjacent alternating playing square, to thereby capture the opponent's playing piece.
- 122. The method of claim 111, wherein the predetermined rules further provide that the games concludes when one opponent has captured and consumed all the opponent's playing pieces.
- 123. The method of claim 111, wherein the predetermined rules further provide that the game concludes when neither opponent may move their respective playing pieces.
- 124. The method of claim 111, wherein the predetermined rules further provide that in the event neither opponent may move their respective playing pieces, each opponent will surrender their playing pieces to the other.
- 125. The method of claim 111, wherein the predetermined rules provide that eac h opponent shall take alternating turns moving a playing piece in accordance with the rules.
- 126. The method of claim 111, wherein each opponent's turn continues until a playing pieces is moved in accordance with the rules, and a playing piece from the other set is not captured.
- 127. The method of claim 125, wherein the predetermined rules further provide that a turn shall end when an opponent uses a strategy piece to capture a playing piece.
- 128. The method of claim 125, further comprising the step of selecting which opponent takes an initial turn.
- 129. The method of claim 128, wherein the step of selecting is conducted using a selection piece.
- 130. The method of claim 129, wherein the selection piece is a flat playing piece having a first surface and a second surface.
- 131. The method of claim 130, wherein the first surface is the same color as the first set of playing pieces.
- 132. The method of claim 131, wherein the second surface is the same color as the second set of playing pieces.
- 133. The method of claim 132, wherein the selection piece is tossed in the air, and the top surface on landing determines the order of the opponents turns.
- 134. The method of claim 133, further comprising the step of the allowing the opponent selected to take the initial turn to consume the selection piece.
- 135. The method of claim 134, wherein the selection piece is a cookie.
- 136. A confectionary board game for use in playing a game by at least one player, said confectionary board game comprising:
a plurality of playing pieces made of an edible material, said plurality of playing pieces being individually wrapped with a clear wrapping so that said plurality of playing pieces can be seen through said clear wrapping, said plurality of playing pieces comprising movement pieces and strategy pieces distinguishable from said movement pieces; and a package configured to contain said plurality of playing pieces, said package having a top cover, a bottom cover and a side; wherein said bottom cover of said package includes a playing board integrally formed thereon for defining a playing area to be used with said plurality of playing pieces to play said game; wherein said side of said package comprises a checkerboard pattern being configured such that when a plurality of said packages are arranged in a stack, said checkerboard patterns on each of said packages combine to form a larger checkerboard display; wherein said strategy pieces are used to replace said movement pieces so that stacking said pieces on top of each other is not necessary to distinguish the playing pieces; wherein the playing pieces are cookies; wherein the playing pieces include a first set of playing pieces and a second set of playing pieces; wherein the first set of playing pieces comprise a first color; wherein the second set of playing pieces comprise a second color that is distinguishable from the first color by human eyes; wherein the strategy pieces are differentiated from the movement pieces by a first indicia; wherein the first indicia comprises a crown symbol on the strategy pieces; wherein the playing board comprises a checkerboard having a number of side-to-side rows; wherein the board game further comprises a selection piece, said selection piece comprising a cookie having a first surface and a second surface, said first surface having the same color as the first set of playing pieces, and the second surface having the same color as the second set of playing pieces, wherein the selection piece is tossed in the air, and the top surface on landing determines the set of playing pieces used to take a first turn.
- 137. The confectionary board game of claim 136, wherein each side-to-side row includes an even number of playing squares, and wherein the playing board has eight playing squares in each side-to-side row.
- 138. A confectionary board game for use in playing a game by at least one player, said confectionary board game comprising:
a plurality of playing pieces made of an edible material; and a package configured to contain said plurality of playing pieces, said package having a top cover, and a bottom cover, wherein at least one of said top cover and said bottom cover includes a rim extending therefrom; wherein said package includes a playing board integrally formed thereon for defining a playing area to be used with said plurality of playing pieces to play said game, such that said rim prevents said playing pieces from spilling from said playing board.
- 139. The confectionary board game of claim 138, wherein said playing board is formed on an interior of said package on said bottom cover.
- 140. The confectionary board game of claim 139, wherein the playing board comprises a checkerboard having a number of side-to-side rows with an even number of playing squares in each side-to-side row.
- 141. The confectionary board game of claim 140, wherein the playing board has six playing squares in each side-to-side row.
- 142. The confectionary board game of claim 141, wherein the playing board has symbols positioned on said playing squares corresponding to a starting position of the playing pieces.
