Abstract

A collection of accessories for darning, yarning, or crocheting come in a choice of either a compact stationary or carousel (10) or tray (23) configuration for darning, yarning, or crocheting. Each configuration provides easy access to detachable yarn dispenser tubes (19) and (20) and accessory storage tubes (18) thus providing freedom of movement and convenience. The short and tall yarn dispenser tubes can accommodate spooled cones, ball yarn, or various ounce weights of wound yarn, etc. This provides the user with greater versatility and mobility because the yarn dispenser tubes can be transported independently in the home or in a tote bag when one is on the road. The optional storage basket (22) used with the carousel (10), and optional storage basket (24) used the tray (22), provide optimum storage capacity and create a fully transportable system, thus having everything that one needs in one compact location.

BACKGROUND

This invention relates to arts and crafts, specifically darning, knitting, and crocheting. It allows users to have an attractive, compact, easy accessible organized work area in the home that is easily transportable as a whole, or as separate units when one is out of the home. This breaks away from the traditional storage bag, where yarn for knitting and crocheting, and accessories are stored.

SUMMARY

These unique concepts, the short and tall yarn dispenser carousel and the six-pack yarn dispenser tray, allows one easy access to different accessories, materials, or colors stored in an individual dispenser tubes or storage tube on the carousel or tray. The dispenser tube base, the accessory storage tube base, and the hollowed placement holes on the carousel and tray, have magnets. This keeps the tubes securely in place on the carousel or tray during transportation, when pulling yarn, or getting accessories out of the storage tubes. The dispenser tubes can accommodate spooled cones, ball yarn, 2-3 or 6 oz. of wound yarn, etc.

Operation

The Cheryl T. Knitting and Crocheting Collection, to include The Small and Big Four Knitting and Crocheting Carousel, and The Short and The Tall Six Pack Tray, are compact units that can accommodate removable yarn dispenser tubes (19) or (20) in any configuration. The removable dispenser tube (19) or (20) can accommodate various configurations of darning and yarning materials. The accessory storage tube (18) is used for miscellaneous items such as scissors, crochet hooks, knitting needles, tape measure, etc. The above are the basic units of the Cheryl T. Darning, Knitting and Crocheting Collection.

(1) The user can work with the compact portable units, turntable or tray, in any convenient location in the home and they are easily transportable.

(2) The user is not restricted to using the complete unit as a whole. Each yarn dispenser tube (19) or (20) is detachable, portable, can be used independently for convenience, and carried in a tote bag when on the road.

(3) The carousel rotates to easily access materials in the yarn dispenser tubes (19) or (20), or access storage tubes (18).

(4) The yarn dispenser tube (19) or (20) can be removed easily to reload material or left on the carousel, whichever is most convenient at the time. Materials are easily reloaded by removing the cover (21), placing material in the dispenser (19) or (20), pulling a string of darning or yarning material through the cover hole, and then replacing the cover (21).

Claims

1. A collection for darning, yarning, or crocheting comprised of: a. A choice of a portable, easily accessible compact stationary platform or carousel, comprised of short, tall, or a combination of short and tall yarn dispenser tubes that are detachable and that can accommodate spooled cones, ball yarn, or various ounce weights of wound yarn, etc. The carousel also has detachable accessory storage tubes. b. A choice of a portable, easily accessible compact tray, comprised of short, tall, or a combination of short and tall yarn dispenser tubes that are detachable and that can accommodate spooled cones, ball yarn, or various ounce weights of wound yarn, etc. The tray also has detachable accessory storage tubes. c. Both the compact portable carousel and tray configuration have an optional accessory storage basket option. Whereby c. The user of either the stationary platform, carousel or tray configuration has the option of selecting different sized dispenser tube combinations for varying applications. d. Addition storage is provided with the optional storage basket options that attach to the units making them one easy to transport system. d. The yarn dispenser tubes are detachable and do not have to be used with the Stationary platform, turntable, or tray for convenience. c. They are easily transportable, thus providing freedom of movement and can be carried in tote bags when on the road.
