Abstract
A child's pressure vest that connects to an adult's vest/backpack attachment by the means of a two mode retractable device. One end of the retractable device is built into the back of the child's vest; the opposite end is built into the adult's vest clasp that snaps together across the adult's chest. The two mode lengths being four and five feet are controlled by a button on top of the adult's vest clasp. The adult's vest/backpack attachment connects and detaches by four clasps: two stitched on the shoulders of the vest, two stitched on bottom of the vest on opposite ends, which can be snapped together to connect or pinched to be taken apart.
Description
FIELD

The present application relates to a child/adult safety mechanism, which connects, to provide hands free connection of child and caretaker.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

The invention relates to the leash device that connects a child to an adult to control the distance, hands free, between them. The child's vest provides and encourages deep pressure for the infant/child to feel calmer and more focused, while learning how to navigate on its own, while the adult's vest/backpack serves as a bag for storage and vest when storage is not necessary.

Many parents face the challenge of disciplining/training their child to walk beside or remain in close proximity of them. This skill is a must in areas that are occupied by a vast amount of people for example concerts, beaches, grocery stores, streets/sidewalks, etc.

This hands free system, as an alternative to the standard harness/leash system, provides safety for the child and peace of mind for the parent: removing the socially unacceptable appearance of an adult walking and animal on a leash.

With this system being a back to chest attachment; it eliminates possible imbalance for the child from being pulled by hip to hip attachments. The system creates arm mobility for the parent while providing storage space for needed essentials.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

The invention, when used properly, will comfortably connect and restrain an infant/child to an adult controlling the distance between them. The invention provides a pressure vest for the infant/child that attaches to an adult vest/backpack by the means of a two mode retractable system.

The retractable system has two ends connected by a casting line and has the option, by the press of a button, of creating four or five feet of distance between child and adult. The front end of the retractable system is built into the back of the vest and the second end into the adult's vest buckle that snap across the chest. The adult's vest/backpack attachment connects and detaches by four adjustable clasp: one on left and right shoulder of the vest, one on the left and right hip/waist of the vest. The backpack attachment of the vest provides storage by means of pockets and openings to keep items needed for child as well as the adult.

The primary objective of the invention is to provide hands free connection of child to adult. Other objectives and advantages of the invention will appear in the thorough description which follows.

OBJECTS AND ADVANTAGES

The objects and advantages of the invention are the following:

    • a) to provide a softer alternative to the standard animal like child leash attachments
    • b) to provide proximity safety in wide open areas
    • c) to provide a deep pressure vest for the child learning to disconnect from the parent and learn to maneuver in this world on its own
    • d) to provide comfort for the child in the form of a vest as oppose to straps from a harness/waist strap
    • e) to provide a vest for the adult for athletic purposes
    • f) to provide a backpack attachment to the vest for storage of essential needs
    • g) to provide 2 different distant modes to allow free range of the child for appropriate situations
    • h) to provide back to chest attachment which allows more balance for both child and adult as oppose to hip to hip attachment
    • i) to ultimately provide hands free attachment of child to adult while maintaining restraint

DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

Referring to drawings, the child's pressure vest (1, FIG. 3C) will have one end of the retractable system (4, FIG. 3C) stitched securely into the back of the vest as shown in FIG. 1. The stitches will secure enough to avoid ripping in the instance of a jerk/halt of a running child. The cascading wire (5, FIG. 2A) will be durable enough to withstand being cut by average wire cutters and essentially wrapped in safe woven material: safe enough to burn or irritate in the case of possible tangling. The adult's vest two part clasp (6 & 11, FIG. 3A) will be large and wide enough to be able to fit the second half of the retractable system (10, FIG. 3B) which will enclose the five feet casting wire. The small button (7, FIG. 3A) will control the free range length of four or five feet to safely keep the child in close proximity. The main range will be four feet, one press of the button will allow five feet, and the final press will revert back to four feet. The adult's vest (2, FIG. 2B) will be detachable from the adult's backpack (3, FIG. 2B) by four clasp (8, 9). The adult's vest (2, FIG. 2B) detaches to allow more mobility for the parent, i.e. wading in the beach, hiking, or jogging. The adult's backpack (3, FIG. 2B) attaches to the vest to provide storage for essentials needed for on the go trips.

CONCLUSION AND SCOPE OF INVENTION

The hands free attachment system provides pressured comfort for the child learning to disconnect from being carried by the parent. The system eliminates the metal hooks leashes need to connect the child and adult together, makes the system more appealing to the eye and more likely socially acceptable.

The casting line connecting the adult and child will strong and durable top withstand being cut by average wire cutters, wrapped in safe material to protect anyone it comes in contact with.

The retractable device controlled by a single touch of a button will essentially allow free range casting at 4 or 5 feet. Four feet will be the main free range, while a simple click will allow five feet of free range distance. A final click will return the distance back to the main range. The desired lengths will be completely controlled by the adult, depending on location and surroundings.

The adult's attachable backpack will be used for essential storage and will include cup holders, pockets, etc. While the adult's vest attachment will be used for athletic use.
