Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula ##STR24## wherein X is O;
- R is hydrogen, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylaryl wherein the aryl moiety may contain 1 or 2 heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of N, O and S and may optionally be substituted by halogen, CN, CF.sub.3, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy;
- R.sub.3 is a 5- or 6-membered aryl which contains 1 or 2 heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of N, O or S and which is optionally substituted by one or more substituents independently selected from the group consisting of halogen, CN, CF.sub.3, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl and C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy; or an enantiomer or a salt thereof;
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen;
- or an enantiomer or a salt thereof.
- 2. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylaryl; wherein the aryl moiety may contain 1 or 2 heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of N, O and S and may optionally be substituted by halogen, CN, CF.sub.3, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy in association with a diluent, excipient or an inert carrier.
- 3. A compound of the formula ##STR25## wherein X is O;
- R is hydrogen, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylaryl wherein the aryl moiety may contain 1 or 2 heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of N, O and S and may optionally be substituted by halogen, CN, CF.sub.3, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy;
- R.sub.3 is phenyl optionally substituted by one or more substituents independently selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl and C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy;
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen; or an enantiomer or a salt thereof.
- 4. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of claim 3 wherein R.sub.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylaryl; wherein the aryl moiety may contain 1 or 2 heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of N, O and S and may optionally be substituted by halogen, CN, CF.sub.3, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, in association with a diluent, excipient or an inert carrier.
- 5. A method for treatment of 5-hydroxytryptamine-mediated disorders of the central nervous system, comprising administering to a mammal in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of claim 1 or 3.
