Claims
- 1. A process for the separation of carboxylic acids contained in a mixture comprising passing said mixture over a bed of ultrahydrophobic silicalite monodisperse spheres having a diameter between about 1 and about 20 microns.
- 2. The process of claim 1 wherein the sphere diameter is between about 2 and about 6 microns.
- 3. The process of claim 1 wherein the sphere diameter is between about 3 and about 5 microns.
- 4. The process of claim 1 wherein the sphere diameter is between about 10 and about 20 microns.
- 5. The process of claim 1 wherein the carboxylic acids have between about 6 and about 26 carbon atoms.
- 6. The process of claim 5 wherein the carboxylic acids have between about 10 and about 20 carbon atoms.
- 7. A process for the separation of highly polar organic materials selected from the group consisting of carboxylic acids, alcohols, and phenols present in a mixture comprising passing said mixture over a bed of ultrahydrophobic silicalite monodisperse spheres having a diameter between about 1 and about 20 microns.
