- 11. The chuck assembly as defined in claim 1 further including means for selectively positioning said lens blank so that said optical center axis is canted relative to said chuck assembly longitudinal axis for facilitating generation of a predetermined amount of prism into said lens blank.
- 12. The chuck assembly as defined in claim 11 further including lens blank support means disposed adjacent said body second end for providing additional support for said lens blank at said one face at least generally laterally outward from said lens block, said canting means allowing canting of both said lens block and said support means.
- 13. A lens block chuck assembly facilitating desired positioning of a lens blank associated with a lens block assembly relative to lens surface generating apparatus, said chuck assembly comprising:
- a chuck body having a first inner end and a second outer end spaced apart from each other with the chuck assembly longitudinal axis extending therebetween;
- a clamp assembly disposed in said body adjacent said second end adapted to selectively fixedly receive a lens block assembly in a manner such that the frame center axis of said associated lens blank is located substantially coaxial with said chuck assembly longitudinal axis, said clamp assembly being selectively movable between an opened condition allowing a lens block assembly to be inserted into and removed from association with said chuck assembly and a closed condition clampingly engaging a lens block assembly;
- means for selectively moving said clamp assembly in said chuck body tansversely of said chuck assembly longitudinal axis, whereby a lens blocking assembly and associated lens blank fixedly received by said clamp assembly are similarly moved in order that a desired optical center axis for said lens blank which is spaced from said frame center axis may be moved to a position generally coaxial with said chuck assembly longitudinal axis to obtain decentration for said lens blanks during processing thereof; and,
- a mounting member extending outwardly from said chuck body first end adapted to be fixedly mounted to the tailstock of lens surface generating apparatus, said mounting member being operably associated with said chuck body in a manner allowing selective relative rotation therebetween in order that said body and clamp assembly may be selectively rotatably adjusted by a predetermined amount about said body longitudinal axis to a preselected position to orient a surface of an associated lens blank relative to said generating apparatus for obtaining specific predetermined optical characteristics therein during lens processing.
- 14. The chuck assembly as defined in claim 13 further including lens blank support means disposed adjacent said body second end to provide support for said lens blank during processing thereof.
