Abstract
A cigar, cigarillo and cigarette holder and snuffer is envisioned here that has the ability to securely and temporarily hold the tobacco product in an upright position as well as to snuff out the lite side of the tobacco product. Furthermore, the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette holder and snuffer is portable, stable and can be cleaned easily. The cigar, cigarillo and cigarette holder and snuffer device incorporates a magnetic clip for a stand, various size reducer rings to fit different dimension tobacco products, built in ashtray with screwable/unscrewable sections to empty the ashtray cavity, cap that can serve as a base or a cover for the holder, and an ash screen. Notably, the reducer rings can be used to accommodate various types of tobacco products.
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to an apparatus made to of hold and/or snuff cigars, cigarillos and cigarettes.


In accordance with an aspect of the invention, there is provided a device that has a shaft with an opening at the top and bottom portions, and the bottom portion of the shaft connects to a bottom shaft for. The device also has a porous screen installed within the shaft, in the radial plane, that creates a divider between the top and bottom portions of the shaft. The device shaft is connected to the bottom shaft using complementary threading on the outer surface of the bottom portion of the shaft and the inner top portion of the base shaft.


The device base shaft can be screwed on or screwed off from the shaft by turning either the base shaft of the shaft. The device base shaft, screwed onto the shaft, creates a container with a cavity for holding ash. The device opening of the top portion of the shaft receives a reducer ring. The device reducer ring has a seal located around its outer diameter which sits flush within the inner diameter of the opening of the top portion of the shaft. The device has a magnetic receptacle integrated on the outer surface of the shaft.


The Device has a base/top cap, the base/top cap includes a seal within the radial plane in the inside portion of the base/top cap, and adjacent to the seal and on the outer surface of the base/top cap are one or more port openings. The device base/top cap is installed on the opening of the top portion of the shaft, creating an enclosed device. The device base/top cap is installed on the bottom portion of the base shaft.


BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Some cigar aficionados and tobacco purchasing clientele use a device which allows them to temporarily store a lit tobacco product and sometimes to snuff it out.


For example, a portable cigar humidor called the “Cigar Save it” exists for holding a cigar and or snuffing out the fire so that it can be used at a later time. This product (shown at the following URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MR-zbGb36-4) allows a user to place a tobacco product in a telescoping tube, so that it can snuff out the fire.

SUMMARY

The present invention relates to but is not limited to a tobacco product holder and snuffer.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

An embodiment of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device is described herein. However, it will be clear and apparent to one skilled in the art that the invention is not limited to the embodiments set forth herein. The cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device is used both to securely and temporarily hold a tobacco product in place and/or to snuff it.



FIG. 1 shows the various components of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100. At the top of the device, the reducer ring 101 sits flush on the shaft lip 103. The reducer ring 101 is a metallic ring that is sized to fit around the diameter of a tobacco product such as a cigar 102. Cigars come in different sizes measured by a ring gauge. A higher ring gauge cigar has a bigger diameter than one which has a lower ring gauge. For example, a 50-ring gauge cigar has a 50/64 inch diameter whereas a 56 ring gauge cigar has a 56/64 inch diameter. The reducer ring 101 is slightly bigger than the ring gauge of the tobacco product so that it can be inserted into the shaft 105. The shaft 105 of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100 is designed to both accommodate different sized cigars and ensure that they stay upright without allowing the snuffed contaminants to affect the integrity of the cigar, its taste, smell and overall look. The reducer ring 101 snuggly holds the cigar 102 so that it does not move readily in any direction. The reducer ring 101 can come in many sizes which are made to fit around the diameter of different shape and sized cigars, cigarillos and even cigarettes. Moreover, the reducer ring 101 makes for an air-tight seal around the cigar so that it snuffs quicker. Thus, the reducer ring 101 serves both to keep the cigar, cigarillos and cigarettes upright and secured but also to provide a seal against air getting in such that air is deprived in the chamber for putting out the heat and fire.


The reducer ring 101 is made of some metallic substance such as steel or aluminum and has an internal reducer ring wall (not pictured) which comes into contact with the internal shaft wall (not pictured) of the shaft lip 103. The internal reducer ring wall has a circular groove (not pictured) which holds the shaft lip “O” ring (not pictured). The shaft lip “O” ring is made of some rubber or silicone to seal and secure the reducer ring 101 unto the shaft 105. In some embodiments, the shaft lip “O” ring is not used and the internal reducer ring wall has threaded pattern grooved into it which matches the threaded pattern grooved unto the internal shaft wall. In such an embodiment, the reducer ring 101 is screwed tight unto the shaft.


The cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100 is designed so that various length tobacco products may be inserted into the shaft 105. This is easily achieved when the base/top cap 107 is installed at the base of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100, acting as a support base. The base/top cap 107 may also be installed unto the top of the shaft 105 in order to completely close the opening of the reducer ring 101. The base/top cap 107 then becomes a top cap in such a configuration. This may be done in order to transport the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100 without worrying about spilling the contents, such as ash, out of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100.


The base/top cap 107 also has an internal cap wall (not pictured) which has a circular groove (not pictured) etched into it in order to hold the cap “O” ring (not pictured). The cap “O” ring also seals and secures the fitting of the base/top cap 107 either on the base of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100 or on the top. The base/top cap 107 has some pressure-port openings placed alongside on the perimeter of the base/top cap 107. These pressure port openings 109 are bored all the way through and reach the cap “O” ring on the internal side of the base/top cap 107. The base/top cap 107 can have any number of port openings 109. In one embodiment, instead of port openings on the base/top cap 107, vertical line carvings or grooves can be embedded in parallel direction to the shaft 105 of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100 where the base/top cap 107 slides into at the bottom of the base of the shaft 105. In one embodiment, four pressure port openings 109 are placed at 90 degrees from one another, however other embodiments are also contemplated. The pressure port openings 109 are used to release any pressure generate by the environment internally or external to the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100. The use of the pressure port openings 109 allows the user to easily remove the base/top cap 107 from its resting place on the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100.


In another embodiment, the base/top cap 107 does not have a cap “O” ring, a groove or pressure port openings 109 and instead has threads placed on the internal cap wall which matches thread patterns placed on both ends of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100. Thus, with this embodiment, the user can install on the base/top cap 107 either on the base or top of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100.


The cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100 also contains threads towards the outer surface of the base (not pictured) of the shaft 105 that complements threads placed within the inside diameter of the neck 117 of the bottom shaft 111. The complementing threads allow removal of bottom shaft 111 in order to empty the contents of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100. The inside cavity of the bottom shaft 111 holds the ash that is collected from the snuffed tobacco product 102. The user turns the bottom shaft 111 opposite the direction of turning the shaft 105 in order to unscrew the two parts from one another and provide the user with access to the cavity of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100. In some embodiments, threads are not used and instead, another locking mechanism such as a slot-key is used to lock into the place the bottom shaft 111 with the shaft 105.


The cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100 also incorporates a magnetic receptacle 119 on the side of shaft 105. The magnetic receptacle 119 is used to attach the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100 to a stand a clip or any other attracting object capable of interacting with the magnetic receptacle 119 to provide a hold, albeit temporarily. For example, a clip intended to be installed unto an automobile's air vents can have a metallic piece or another magnet integrated in it. In which case, the user can “snap” connect the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100 with use of its magnetic receptacle 119. The magnetic receptacle 119 comes into contact with the clip's magnetic or metallic fixture and provides the necessary hold. The magnetic receptacle 119 may be either a magnet integrated into the shaft 105 of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100 or a metal piece protruding from the shaft of 105 of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 100



FIG. 2 shows the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 200 with the base/top cap 207 installed on top of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 200. The cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 200 also incorporates the magnetic receptacle 219 on the side of the shaft 205. Moreover, the pressure-port openings 209 can be seen on the base/top cap 207 as it is installed on the top part of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 200.



FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 300 with the base/top cap 307 being installed on the top of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 300. The internal reducer ring wall 327 is also shown to be adjacent to the internal shaft wall 325. An ash screen 329 is shown to be inserted inside the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device's 300 shaft 305. The ash screen 329 sits on a groove channeled in circular fashion in the inside cylindrical wall of the shaft 305. The ash screen 305 is meant as a barrier and a resting place for the tobacco product (not pictured). The ash screen 305 also aids in separating the burned ash from the lit tobacco product. The cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 300 also shows the threaded inside wall 310 of the bottom shaft 311 which is complemented by the outside threaded wall 312 of shaft 305 which allows unscrewing and screwing of the shaft 305 from the bottom shaft 311. The cavity 331 within the bottom shaft 311 holds the collected.



FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 400 with the base/top cap 407 being installed on the base of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 400. The shaft-lip “O” ring 402 is shown installed in the groove of the reducer ring 401. The cap “O” ring 406 is also shown installed in the groove carved circularly on the inside wall of the base/top cap 407. The bottom shaft 417 of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 400 is shown sitting flush with the internal cap wall 408 of the base/top cap 407. Finally, the cavity 413 is shown where the ash is collected.



FIG. 5 is a top down view of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 500. The ash screen 529 is shown to be a porous metallic screen used to separate the ash from the tobacco product. The magnetic receptacle 519 of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 500 is also shown to be on one side of the cigar, cigarillo and cigarette snuffer and holder device 500.


Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiment thereof, it is apparent to those skilled in the art that a variety of modifications and changes may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention which is intended to be defined by the appended claims.

Claims
  • 1. A device, comprising: a shaft with an opening at the top and bottom portions; andthe bottom portion of the shaft connects to a bottom shaft.
  • 2. The device of claim 1, further comprising: a porous screen installed within the shaft, in the radial plane, that creates a divider between the top and bottom portions of the shaft.
  • 3. The device of claim 1, wherein the shaft is connected to the bottom shaft using complementary threading on the outer surface of the bottom portion of the shaft and the inner top portion of the base shaft.
  • 4. The device of claim 3, wherein the base shaft can be screwed on or screwed off from the shaft by turning either the base shaft of the shaft.
  • 5. The device of claim 4, wherein the base shaft, screwed onto the shaft, creates a container with a cavity for holding ash.
  • 6. The device of claim 1, wherein the opening of the top portion of the shaft receives a reducer ring.
  • 7. The device of claim 6, wherein the reducer ring has a seal located around its outer diameter which sits flush within the inner diameter of the opening of the top portion of the shaft.
  • 8. The device of claim 1, further comprising, a magnetic receptacle integrated on the outer surface of the shaft.
  • 9. The device of claim 1, further comprising: a base/top cap;the base/top cap includes a seal within the radial plane in the inside portion of the base/top cap; andadjacent to the seal and on the outer surface of the base/top cap are one or more port openings.
  • 10. The device of claim 9, wherein the base/top cap is installed on the opening of the top portion of the shaft, creating an enclosed device.
  • 11. The device of claim 9, wherein the base/top cap is installed on the bottom portion of the base shaft.
