Abstract
A cigar cutter includes a main body and a cutting member configured to move relative to each other, and a locking assembly for locking the cutting member. The main body includes at least one cutting lot extending horizontally, and a vertical through hole formed at the cutting sot. The cutting member includes at least one cutter configured to slide along the cutting slot and a positioning column, and the positioning column is configured to slide along a positioning slot correspondingly formed on the main body. The locking assembly is connected to one end of the positioning slot away from the cutting member and is used to lock or unlock the positioning column, such that the relative positions of the cutting member and the main body are secured during closing of the cigar cutter.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Technical Field

The present invention is related to a cigar auxiliary tool, and in particular, to a cigar cutter with great portability and facilitated operation.


2. Description of Related Art

A cigar cutter is an important portable devices among various types of cigar auxiliary tools, and it allows users to remove or open the cigar cap. In addition, according to the preference of users, known cigar cutters mostly adopt the vertical cutting, V-shape cutting or punching cutting type, in order to allow users to have different tastes during cigar smoking. However, most of the known cutters are able to provide one single type of cutting function, such that they are insufficient to satisfy the diverse needs and preferences of users. Nevertheless, carrying multiple cigar cutters is also inconvenient and impractical, which is also the common problem faced by cigar lovers.


In view of the above, the inventor seeks to overcome such drawback with innovation through continuous research and development as well as extensive attempts in order to achieve the present invention.


BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a cigar cutter, capable of utilizing a simple and smooth sliding structure and a locking structure to achieve great portability and facilitated operation of the cigar cutter for users. In addition, it can be equipped with various types of cutting functions depending upon the needs, in order to satisfy diverse use demands of users.


Furthermore, the cigar cutter of the present invention is able to utilize a sliding mechanism for elastic opening in conjunction with a corresponding locking structure, thereby increasing the use convenience and structural stability significantly.


To achieve the aforementioned effects and objectives, a cigar cutter of the present invention mainly adopts the technical means and structural features comprising a main body, a cutting member and a locking assembly. The main body includes at least one cutting slot extending horizontally, a through hole vertically penetrating through the cutting slot, and a slot opening formed at one lateral side of the main body. The cutting member is configured to perform cutting and is movably attached to the main body. The cutting member includes at least one cutter arranged corresponding to the cutting slot and a positioning column. The cutter penetrates through the slot opening and is configured to slide along the cutting slot in order to allow the cutting member to move between an open position and a closed position relative to the main body for cutting. The positioning column is arranged parallel to the cutting slot and configured to slide along a positioning slot correspondingly formed on the main body. The locking assembly is arranged on the main body and connected to one end of the positioning slot away from the cutting member, and is configured to lock or unlock the positioning column when the cutting member being at the closed position, and to secure a position of the cutting member relative to the main body during locking. In addition, the locking assembly comprises a movable abutment member, the positioning column includes a protruding pin formed at one end facing toward the main body, the abutment member spans across the positioning slot and includes a positioning hole formed to allow the protruding pin to penetrate therethrough, such that when the positioning hole deviates from the positioning slot, the abutment member is in a locked state for locking the protruding pin, and when the positioning hole aligns with the positioning slot, the abutment member is in an unlocked state allowing the protruding pin to penetrate therethrough.


According to the above structure, wherein the positioning column forms a neck portion recessed inward at a location adjacent the protruding pin, and when the abutment member locks the protruding pin, it is locked at the location of the neck portion.


According to the aforementioned structure, wherein the locking assembly further comprises an elastic restoration unit and a pressing portion; two ends of the elastic restoration unit abut against the main body and the abutment member respectively, used to provide an elastic acting force in order to allow the abutment member to be maintained under the locked state; the pressing portion is arranged on one end of the abutment member away from the positioning slot and is exposed on a surface side of the main body in order to allow a user to press thereon and to move the abutment member during pressing, thereby achieving an unlocked state.


According to the aforementioned structure, wherein the protruding pin includes a top surface having an arched shape or a conical shape, and an aperture of the positioning hole adjacent to one side of cutting member is greater than an aperture thereof away from the cutting member.


According to the aforementioned structure, wherein the positioning column includes at least one protruding column protruding from a lateral side, and the positioning slot includes at least one guiding slot formed corresponding to a location of the protruding column.


According to the aforementioned structure, wherein the main body includes a plurality of the cutting slots arranged horizontally and parallel to each other, and the cutting member includes a plurality of cutters arranged corresponding to each one of the cutting slots.


The positioning column is arranged at a location between the two cutters, and the cutting member further includes a retaining tube arranged parallel to two lateral sides of the cutters respectively; each one of the retaining tubes is arranged parallel to the positioning column and used to slide along a retaining slot correspondingly formed on the main body.


According to the aforementioned structure, wherein the main body further comprises two elastic assemblies respectively arranged inside each one of the retaining slots and each one of the retaining tubes; one end of each one of the elastic assemblies is limited by the retaining slot to abut against the main body, and another end thereof is limited by the retaining tube to abut against the cutting member, in order to provide an elastic acting force for driving the cutting member to slide toward the open position.


According to the aforementioned structure, wherein each one of the cutting slots can be a vertical cutting slot or a V-shaped cutting slot.


According to the aforementioned structure, wherein the main body further includes an upper cover and a lower cover respectively attached to an upper side and a lower side of the plurality of cutting slots, and the upper cover and the lower cover include an opening matching with a shape of the cutting slot formed at a location corresponding to each one of the through holes respectively.


To further illustrate the aforementioned objectives, effects and features of the present invention, the following describes a preferred embodiment of the present invention in conjunction with the accompanied drawings weight.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Please refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, According to an embodiment of the present invention, a cigar cutter 1 mainly comprises a main body 10, a cutting member 20 and a locking assembly 30.


The main body 10 includes a first cutting slot 11 and a second locking slot 12 arranged parallel to each other and extending along a horizontal direction. In addition, the main body 10 includes a first through hole 111 vertically penetrating through the location of the first cutting slot 11, and the first cutting slot 11 extends to one lateral side of the main body 10 and forms a first slot opening 112. The main body 10 further includes a fixed cutter 113 arranged at one side of the first cutting slot 11 away from the first slot opening 112. Furthermore, the main body 10 includes a second through hole 121 vertically penetrating through a location of the second cutting slot 12, and the second cutting slot 12 extends to one lateral side of the main body 10 to form a second slot opening 122. Moreover, the second slot opening 122 and the first slot opening 112 are located at the same side of the main body 10.


The cutting member 20 is mainly arranged at one side of the main body 10 having the first slot opening 112 and the second slot opening 122 formed thereon, and it configured to perform cutting and movably attached to the main body 10. The cutting member 20 mainly comprises a holding portion 201 corresponding to one side of the main body 10, and a first cutter 21 and a second cutter 22 arranged parallel on the holding portion 201. The first cutter 21 penetrates into the first slot opening 112 and is able to slide along the first cutting slot 11. The second cutter 22 penetrates through the second slot 122 and is able to slide along the second cutting slot 12. Accordingly, the cutting member 20 is able to move between an open position and a closed position relative to the main body 10 for cutting.


In this embodiment, the cutting member 20 includes a positioning column 23 arranged between the first cutter 21 and the second cutter 22, and a retaining tube 24 respectively arranged at another side of the first cutter 21 opposite from the positioning column 23 and another side of the second cutter 22 opposite from the positioning column 23. the positioning column 23 and each one of the retaining tubes 24 are parallel with each other and extending toward the direction of the main body 10 as well as parallel to the extension direction of the first cutter 11 and the second cutter 12. The main body 10 includes a positioning slot 13 and two retaining slots 14 (please refer to FIG. 4 to FIG. 7) at locations corresponding to the positioning column 23 and the two retaining tubes 24, in order to allow the positioning column 23 and the two retaining tubes 24 to slide along the positioning slot 13 and the two retaining slots 14 when the cutting member 20 moves relative to the main body 10.


In addition, the positioning column 23 includes at least one protruding column 232 protruding from a lateral side, and the positioning slot 13 includes at least one guiding slot 132 formed corresponding to a location of the protruding column 232, in order to facilitate the correction of the relative positions of the positioning column 23 and the positioning slot 13 during the sliding movement.


Please refer to FIG. 3. The locking assembly 30 is mainly arranged in the main body 10 and is connected to one end of the positioning slot 13 away from the cutting member 20, and is used to lock or unlock the positioning column 23 sliding inside the positioning slot 13, and is also able to secure the position of the cutting member 20 relative to the main body 10 during locking.


In this embodiment, the locking assembly 30 mainly comprises an abutment member 31, a pressing portion 32 and an elastic restoration unit 33. The abutment member 31 is movably arranged at a location to span across the positioning slot 13 and is used to either retain or release the positioning column 23, in order to achieve locking or unlocking of the positioning column 23. Furthermore, the positioning column 23 includes a protruding pin 231 formed at one end facing toward the main body 10, and a neck portion 230 is formed to recess inward at a location adjacent to the protruding pin 231. The abutment member 31 includes a positioning hole 311 formed to allow the protruding pin 231 to penetrate therethrough. Accordingly, under the condition where the protruding pin 231 passes through the positioning hole 311, as the positioning hole 311 deviates from the positioning slot 13, the abutment member 31 is able to abut against the location of the neck portion 230, thereby achieving the locked state capable of locking the protruding pin 231 to prevent it from sliding relative to the positioning slot 13. Moreover, when the positioning hole 311 aligns with the positioning slot 13, it is able to achieve the unlocked state allowing the protruding pin 231 to pass therethrough, and at this time, the abutment member 31 no longer abuts against the protruding pin 231, and the protruding pin 231 is able to disengage from the positioning hole 311 and to slide inside the positioning slot 13. In a feasible embodiment, the protruding pin 231 includes a top surface having an arched shape or a conical shape, and an aperture of the positioning hole 311 adjacent to one side of cutting member 20 is greater than an aperture thereof away from the cutting member 20.


In addition, the abutment member 31 further includes a hollow slot 310 provided to allow the elastic rest unit 33 to be installed therein, and a width of the elastic restoration unit 33 is greater than the abutment member 31, such that the elastic restoration unit 33 protrudes outward at the two lateral sides of the abutment member 31. When the locking assembly 30 is assembled on the main body 10, the elastic restoration unit 33 is retained inside a restoration locking slot 16 (as shown in FIG. 4) of the main body 10 and is used to allow the elastic restoration unit 33 protruding outward at the two lateral sides of the abutment member 31 to abut thereon, such that the two ends of the elastic restoration unit 33 are able to achieve the effect of abutting against the main body 10 and the abutment member 31, thereby providing an elastic acting force to allow the abutment member 31 to be maintained under the locked state. The pressing portion 32 is mainly exposed at the surface side of the main body 10 and is provided to allow the user to press thereon. In this embodiment, the pressing portion 32 is arranged at a side corner of the main body 10 in order to facilitate the holding and pressing operations of the user. Furthermore, the pressing portion 32 is connected to one end of the abutment member 31 away from the positioning slot 13 via a securement pin 320, such that when it is pressed by the user, it is able to drive the abutment member 31 to move and to achieve the unlocked state.


In addition, please refer to FIG. 2 and FIG. 4 to FIG. 7. The main body 10 further includes an elastic assembly 15 respectively arranged inside the two retaining slots 14, and it comprises a spring 151 and a retaining column 152. The retaining column 152 penetrates into the spring 151 and is arranged inside the retaining slot 14, and its top end is abutted by one end of the spring 151. Furthermore, another end of the spring extends into the retaining tube 24, such that each elastic assembly 15 having one end limited by the retaining slot 14 in order to abut against the main body 10 and another end limited by the retaining tube 24 in order to abut against the cutting member 20, thereby providing the elastic acting force capable of driving the cutting member 20 to slide toward the open position.


In a feasible embodiment, the first cutting slot 11 and the second cutting slot 12 are respectively formed to be a vertical cutting slot or a V-shaped cutting slot. Similarly, the first cutter 21 and the second cutter 22 can also be respectively formed to be a vertical cutter or a V-shaped cutter. Furthermore, the main body 10 includes an upper cover 101 and a lower cover 102 respectively attached to the upper side and lower side of the first cutting slot 11 and the second cutting slot 12. Moreover, the upper cover 101 and the lower cover 102 include an opening 103, 104 matching the shape of the cutter formed at locations corresponding to the first through hole 111 and the second through hole 121 respectively.


During the actual use, as shown in FIG. 4, when the cutting member 20 is at the open position, the first through hole 111 and the second through hole 121 of the first cutting slot 11 and the second cutting slot 12 are hollow holes, such that the user can insert a cigar cap into such hollow holes. Next, the cutting member 20 is pressed to slide toward the main body 10 for cutting. When the cutting member 20 slides to the closed position, the protruding pin 231 of the positioning column 23 utilizes the arched top surface to abut against the slanted surface of the positioning hole 311, in order to drive the abutment member 31 to slide away and to allow the protruding pin 231 to pass through the positioning slot 13, following which, the abutment member 31 is then restored back to the locked state, as shown in FIG. 5. To unlock the cigar cutter, as shown in FIG. 6, the user is required to only press the pressing portion 32 in order to drive the abutment member 31 to move. When the positioning hole 311 aligns with the positioning slot 13, the unlocked state is achieved, allowing the protruding pin 231 to be disengaged from the locking position of the abutment member 31. Furthermore, during the locking, as shown in FIG. 7, the cutting member 20 is able to utilize the elastic acting force provided by the two springs 151 and to allow the two retaining tubes 24 to be ejected outward relative to the main body 10 in a direction along the two retaining slots 14, in order to automatically slide to the open position as shown in FIG. 4, thereby achieving an easy and convenient operation mode.


It shall be understood that the above description is provided to illustrate the preferred embodiments of the present invention only, and it shall not be treated as limitation to the implementation scope of the present invention. All mere and equivalent changes and modifications made by a person skilled in the art in the technical field of the present invention based on the technical content disclosed by the present invention shall be considered to be within the scope of the claims of the present invention.

Claims
  • 1. A cigar cutter, comprising: a main body having at least one cutting slot extending horizontally, a through hole vertically penetrating through the cutting slot, and a slot opening formed at one lateral side of the main body;a cutting member configured to perform cutting and movably attached to the main body; the cutting member having at least one cutter arranged corresponding to the cutting slot and a positioning column; the cutter penetrating through the slot opening and configured to slide along the cutting slot in order to allow the cutting member to move between an open position and a closed position relative to the main body for cutting; the positioning column arranged parallel to the cutting slot and configured to slide along a positioning slot correspondingly formed on the main body; anda locking assembly arranged on the main body and connected to one end of the positioning slot away from the cutting member, and configured to lock or unlock the positioning column when the cutting member being at the closed position, and to secure a position of the cutting member relative to the main body during locking;wherein the locking assembly comprises a movable abutment member, the positioning column includes a protruding pin formed at one end facing toward the main body, the abutment member spans across the positioning slot and includes a positioning hole formed to allow the protruding pin to penetrate therethrough, such that when the positioning hole deviates from the positioning slot, the abutment member is in a locked state for locking the protruding pin, and when the positioning hole aligns with the positioning slot, the abutment member is in an unlocked state allowing the protruding pin to penetrate therethrough.
  • 2. The cigar cutter according to claim 1, wherein the positioning column forms a neck portion recessed inward at a location adjacent the protruding pin, and when the abutment member locks the protruding pin, it is locked at the location of the neck portion.
  • 3. The cigar cutter according to claim 2, wherein the locking assembly further comprises an elastic restoration unit and a pressing portion; two ends of the elastic restoration unit abut against the main body and the abutment member respectively, used to provide an elastic acting force in order to allow the abutment member to be maintained under the locked state; the pressing portion is arranged on one end of the abutment member away from the positioning slot and is exposed on a surface side of the main body in order to allow a user to press thereon and to move the abutment member during pressing, thereby achieving the unlocked state.
  • 4. The cigar cutter according to claim 3, wherein the protruding pin includes a top surface having an arched shape or a conical shape, and an aperture of the positioning hole adjacent to one side of cutting member is greater than an aperture thereof away from the cutting member.
  • 5. The cigar cutter according to claim 1, wherein the positioning column includes at least one protruding column protruding from a lateral side, and the positioning slot includes at least one guiding slot formed corresponding to a location of the protruding column.
  • 6. The cigar cutter according to claim 5, wherein the main body includes a plurality of the cutting slots arranged horizontally and parallel to each other; each one of the cutting slots is a vertical cutting slot or a V-shaped cutting slot; the cutting member includes a plurality of cutters arranged corresponding to each one of the cutting slots; the main body further includes an upper cover and a lower cover respectively attached to an upper side and a lower side of the plurality of cutting slots, and the upper cover and the lower cover include an opening matching with a shape of the cutting slot formed at a location corresponding to each one of the through holes respectively.
  • 7. The cigar cutter according to claim 6, wherein the positioning column is arranged at a location between the two cutters, and the cutting member further includes a retaining tube arranged parallel to two lateral sides of the cutters respectively; each one of the retaining tubes is arranged parallel to the positioning column and used to slide along a retaining slot correspondingly formed on the main body.
  • 8. The cigar cutter according to claim 7, wherein the main body further comprises two elastic assemblies respectively arranged inside each one of the retaining slots and each one of the retaining tubes; one end of each one of the elastic assemblies is limited by the retaining slot to abut against the main body, and another end thereof is limited by the retaining tube to abut against the cutting member, in order to provide an elastic acting force for driving the cutting member to slide toward the open position.
  • 9. The cigar cutter according to claim 2, wherein the positioning column includes at least one protruding column protruding from a lateral side, and the positioning slot includes at least one guiding slot formed corresponding to a location of the protruding column.
  • 10. The cigar cutter according to claim 9, wherein the main body includes a plurality of the cutting slots arranged horizontally and parallel to each other; each one of the cutting slots is a vertical cutting slot or a V-shaped cutting slot; the cutting member includes a plurality of cutters arranged corresponding to each one of the cutting slots; the main body further includes an upper cover and a lower cover respectively attached to an upper side and a lower side of the plurality of cutting slots, and the upper cover and the lower cover include an opening matching with a shape of the cutting slot formed at a location corresponding to each one of the through holes respectively.
  • 11. The cigar cutter according to claim 10, wherein the positioning column is arranged at a location between the two cutters, and the cutting member further includes a retaining tube arranged parallel to two lateral sides of the cutters respectively; each one of the retaining tubes is arranged parallel to the positioning column and used to slide along a retaining slot correspondingly formed on the main body.
  • 12. The cigar cutter according to claim 11, wherein the main body further comprises two elastic assemblies respectively arranged inside each one of the retaining slots and each one of the retaining tubes; one end of each one of the elastic assemblies is limited by the retaining slot to abut against the main body, and another end thereof is limited by the retaining tube to abut against the cutting member, in order to provide an elastic acting force for driving the cutting member to slide toward the open position.
  • 13. The cigar cutter according to claim 3, wherein the positioning column includes at least one protruding column protruding from a lateral side, and the positioning slot includes at least one guiding slot formed corresponding to a location of the protruding column.
  • 14. The cigar cutter according to claim 13, wherein the main body includes a plurality of the cutting slots arranged horizontally and parallel to each other; each one of the cutting slots is a vertical cutting slot or a V-shaped cutting slot; the cutting member includes a plurality of cutters arranged corresponding to each one of the cutting slots; the main body further includes an upper cover and a lower cover respectively attached to an upper side and a lower side of the plurality of cutting slots, and the upper cover and the lower cover include an opening matching with a shape of the cutting slot formed at a location corresponding to each one of the through holes respectively.
  • 15. The cigar cutter according to claim 14, wherein the positioning column is arranged at a location between the two cutters, and the cutting member further includes a retaining tube arranged parallel to two lateral sides of the cutters respectively; each one of the retaining tubes is arranged parallel to the positioning column and used to slide along a retaining slot correspondingly formed on the main body.
  • 16. The cigar cutter according to claim 15, wherein the main body further comprises two elastic assemblies respectively arranged inside each one of the retaining slots and each one of the retaining tubes; one end of each one of the elastic assemblies is limited by the retaining slot to abut against the main body, and another end thereof is limited by the retaining tube to abut against the cutting member, in order to provide an elastic acting force for driving the cutting member to slide toward the open position.
  • 17. The cigar cutter according to claim 4, wherein the positioning column includes at least one protruding column protruding from a lateral side, and the positioning slot includes at least one guiding slot formed corresponding to a location of the protruding column.
  • 18. The cigar cutter according to claim 17, wherein the main body includes a plurality of the cutting slots arranged horizontally and parallel to each other; each one of the cutting slots is a vertical cutting slot or a V-shaped cutting slot; the cutting member includes a plurality of cutters arranged corresponding to each one of the cutting slots; the main body further includes an upper cover and a lower cover respectively attached to an upper side and a lower side of the plurality of cutting slots, and the upper cover and the lower cover include an opening matching with a shape of the cutting slot formed at a location corresponding to each one of the through holes respectively.
  • 19. The cigar cutter according to claim 18, wherein the positioning column is arranged at a location between the two cutters, and the cutting member further includes a retaining tube arranged parallel to two lateral sides of the cutters respectively; each one of the retaining tubes is arranged parallel to the positioning column and used to slide along a retaining slot correspondingly formed on the main body.
  • 20. The cigar cutter according to claim 19, wherein the main body further comprises two elastic assemblies respectively arranged inside each one of the retaining slots and each one of the retaining tubes; one end of each one of the elastic assemblies is limited by the retaining slot to abut against the main body, and another end thereof is limited by the retaining tube to abut against the cutting member, in order to provide an elastic acting force for driving the cutting member to slide toward the open position.
