Abstract
This device entitled the “Cigar Screw” is a pocket sized cigar holder that will allow for a plurality of different sized cigars to be held such that they are secured for consumption. The holder will allow the user to safely, more fully consume cigars in their entirety. The holder consists of a heat resistant material such as plastic with a metal insert. The holder possesses a metal rod within a corresponding opening of the holder base. The base is capable of sliding into the top section of the unit for storage.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a cigar holder allowing a user to secure a cigar to a hand held device for the purpose of consumption.

2. Description of the Prior Art

The use of cigar holders is known in the prior art. More specifically, cigar holders heretofore devised and utilized for the purpose of holding cigars are known to consist basically of familiar, expected and obvious structural configurations, notwithstanding the myriad of designs encompassed by the crowded prior art which have been developed for the fulfillment of countless objectives and requirements.

By way of example, U.S. Pat. No. Des. 300,417 to Knecht discloses a combined upper handle bar clamp and cigar lighter holder for a motorcycle. U.S. Pat. No. 3,921,645 to Hagman discloses a safety cigarette holder. U.S. Pat. No. 3,978,981 to Musick discloses a lighted cigar holder. U.S. Pat. No. 4,685,477 to Valdez discloses a cigar or cigarette holder. U.S. Pat. No. 4,711,254 to Fleisher et al. discloses a cigar holder. U.S. Pat. No. 5,226,647 to Notarmuzi discloses a multi-purpose golfer's accessory.

While these devices fulfill their respective, particular objective and requirements, the aforementioned patents do not describe a cigar holder that is simple in design, readily transportable, and allows a cigar to be held at a proximal location for use.

In this respect, the cigar holder according to the present invention substantially departs from the conventional concepts and designs of the prior art, and in doing so provides an apparatus primarily developed for the purpose of allowing a user to secure a cigar for consumption.

DIAGRAMS OF PRIOR ART
Summary of the Invention

A cigar holder in the shape of a pen capable of safely holding all size cigars for consumption. A cigar holder able to be transported comfortably in a pocket or carried in a cigar case.

A cigar holder that can be carried inconspicuously within a vest pocket or similar clothing, or in a humidor or similar carrying case for transportation.

A cigar holder that is enclosed inside a cap when not in use so as to prevent the odor of smoke to be transferred to clothing, carrying case or any other material the holder may come into contact with when closed.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is the holder in the open position showing the handle and the screw section.

FIG. 2 is the cap and clip of the holder when in the open position.

FIG. 3 is the holder when secured to a cigar showing the screw section protruding into the cigar.

FIG. 4 is the cigar screw in the closed position.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENT

The cigar holder that shall easily screw in to cigars of all sizes by means of a wood screw or similar fastener. (See FIG. 1)

A cigar holder that shall allow the user to safely consume a cigar more entirely by means of a cigar screw attached to the end of the cigar to be consumed. (FIG. 1)

The cigar screw that shall protect the user's fingers from contact with the heated section of the cigar and allow the user to hold the cigar safely upon consuming the cigar to the consumers desired amount of the cigar.

The cigar screw section of the holder shall consist of stainless steel or similar heat resistant metal. The cigar screw section shall be approximately ¾″ in length and fastened to a wooden handle such as rosewood or similar wood or heat resistant material whereby the handle shall be approximately 3″ in length. (FIG. 1)

The cigar screw shall absorb some of the heat produced from combustion of the cigar such that it promotes a more pleasurable consumption of the cigar and allow the consumer to smoke the cigar in more of its entirety or to the consumer's desired amount.

The handle shall be fashioned as to accept a cap that slips on over the cigar screw section of the holder to form the likeness of a pen. For transport or other safety concerns, the cap shall completely enclose and encompass the cigar screw section of the unit to cover the cigar screw section when in the closed position. (See FIG. 2)

Any aroma that may be present on the cigar screw as a result of combustion shall be enclosed in and prevented from escaping by the cap.

The cap shall be hollow and possess a clip attachment whereby the cap may be clipped to a shirt pocket or similar clothing. (FIG. 2)

The cap shall be approximately2½″ in length and the clip shall be attached to the cap lengthwise approximately 2″ in length. (FIG. 2)

The diameter of the cap shall be approximately ⅜″ and capable of sliding over the cigar screw section of the unit being that the cigar screw section is slightly less than ⅜″ in diameter such that the cap will snap on and remain securely in place.

When in the closed position the cigar screw section shall be inside the cap whereby the unit will appear as a single piece and shall be approximately5½″ in length.

The cap shall be made of similar material as the handle to match the appearance of the handle and be consistent with the appearance of the unit.

The handle of the unit shall be curved and may be rounded on any or all edges as to promote a comfortable fit in the hand of the user.

The handle shall fit into the hand of the consumer comfortably and may conform to the contours of the hand and shall possess a shape as shown in FIG. 1 or a variation of said shape to enhance the feel and comfort of usage.

The handle and cap of the holder may be constructed of heat resistant wooden and or ceramic, porcelain, plastic or other similar material. Wooden materials may be finished with stain and varnish or other similar wood finish.

The handle shall be protected from heat transfer of the cigar screw by a rounded base of the cigar screw. (See FIG. 1) A rounded base of the cigar screw shall be approximately ¼″ in height by ½″ in width and may possess a spacer or washer or may be similarly fashioned to prevent an excessive amount of heat transfer to the handle.

The screw section of the holder shall secure the cigar to the holder by means of turning and shall protrude into the cigar as shown in diagram #3.

Modifications to the unit may include a screw on cap, the addition of a working writing instrument, a flash light or cigar punch within the cap or handle.

In summation a cigar holder that is easily carried and transported and that shall allow the consumer to more easily, more safely, more fully and more pleasurably, consume cigars of all
