DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIG. 1 thereof, the preferred embodiment of the new and improved cigar support system embodying the principles and concepts of the present invention and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

The present invention, the cigar support system, is comprised of a plurality of components. In their broadest context such components are individually configured and correlated with respect to each other so as to attain the desired objective.

From a broad view point, the present invention is a cigar support system including a strap having first and second ends with upper and a lower edges. The strap has interior and exterior surfaces with hook and loop fasteners whereby the strap may be removably wrapped around the cigar. A magnet has a rectilinear configuration with inner and outer faces and with a rectangular magnet periphery. The magnet periphery has a magnet circumference. An intermediate component has a rectilinear configuration with a chamber there within. The chamber has a size removably receiving the magnet. The intermediate component has a front opening with a front circumference less than the magnet circumference. The intermediate component has a rear opening with a rear circumference greater than the magnetic circumference. The intermediate component has slots on opposite sides of the chamber for the passage of the straps.

More specifically, the preferred embodiment is a cigar support system 10 is for securely holding a cigar 11 and for removably positioning the cigar at an elevated position on a golf club 12 during a round of golf. The securely holding and the removably positioning are done in a safe, convenient, and economical manner.

The system includes, in combination, a strap 14 having a first end 16 and a second end 18 separated by a strap length and with an intermediate extent 20 between the first end and the second end. The strap has an upper edge 22 and a lower edge 24 separated by a strap height. The first end of the strap is cut to form an acute angle. The second end of the strap is cut at a right angle with respect to the upper edge and the lower edge. The strap has an interior surface 26 and an exterior surface 28.

Hook and loop fasteners 29 are on the interior surface and on the exterior surface whereby the strap may be removably wrapped around the cigar with the first end overlapping the second end. Such arrangement of the coupled strap ends facilitates the tactile locating of the strap ends when coupling and uncoupling the strap with respect to a cigar. It also ensures a more secure coupling of the strap ends when holding a cigar.

Next provided is a magnet 30 having a generally rectilinear configuration with an inner face 32 and an outer face 34 and with a rectangular magnetic periphery 36 between the inner face and the outer face. The magnet periphery has a magnet circumference.

Lastly provided is an intermediate component 40 having a rectilinear configuration with a chamber 42 there within. The chamber has a size to removably receive the magnet. The intermediate component has a front opening 44 with a front circumference less than the magnet circumference to preclude passage of the magnet there through. The intermediate component has a rear opening with a rear circumference greater than the magnet circumference to allow passage of the magnet there through. The intermediate component has laterally spaced slots 46 on opposite sides of the chamber for the passage of the strap there through for retaining the magnet in the chamber.

The strap and magnet and intermediate component are devoid of an adhesive. The magnet thus effectively floats with respect to the strap and intermediate component for a more secure and comfortable coupling.

As to the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
