Abstract
A cinching fitted bed sheet device is provided. The device is primarily comprised of a sheet, a perimeter, and a drawstring. The device may fit around a mattress of any size and be secured to the mattress to prevent the device from wrinkling or inadvertently moving. A drawstring lining a perimeter of the sheet may be pulled by a user, cinching the device to the mattress. At least one grommet prevents the device from being damaged by the pulling action of the drawstring.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to the field of bed sheets. More specifically, the present invention relates to a cinching fitted bed sheet device comprised of a bedsheet with a drawstring that allows the device to be cinched around a mattress. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.


BACKGROUND

Fitted sheets are difficult to apply to a mattress and require multiple trips around the perimeter of the bed to secure the sheet to the mattress. The sheet may not be easily placed onto the mattress, resulting in wrinkles and a less comfortable sleeping surface. People may get frustrated having to constantly readjust their fitted sheet because they are not secured to the mattress well enough.


Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an improved fitted sheet mattress. More specifically, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a cinching fitted bed sheet device that may be easily secured to a mattress to prevent the sheet from moving or wrinkling when a person lays on the bed. Furthermore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a cinching fitted bed sheet device that may be secured to cover any mattress of any size.


The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a cinching fitted bed sheet device. The device is primarily comprised of a fitted sheet with at least one drawstring. The device may fit around a mattress of any size and be secured to the mattress to prevent the device from wrinkling or inadvertently moving. The drawstring lining of a perimeter of the sheet may be pulled by a user, cinching the device to the mattress. At least one grommet prevents the device from being damaged by the pulling action of the drawstring.


In this manner, the cinching fitted bed sheet device of the present invention accomplishes all the foregoing objectives and provides an improved fitted sheet. More specifically, the cinching fitted bed sheet device can be easily secured to a mattress such that the device may not wrinkle or move when a person, animal, or other thing sits or lays on the mattress. Furthermore, the cinching fitted bed sheet device may be applied to any mattress of any size.


SUMMARY

The following presents a simplified summary to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some general concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.


The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a cinching fitted bed sheet device that is primarily comprised of a fitted sheet with a perimeter comprised of at least one drawstring. The device is designed to cover a mattress and be secured to that mattress by the tightening of a drawstring such that the device may not move or wrinkle when a person lays on the mattress.


The device is comprised of a fitted sheet that may be made from a material commonly used to cover and/or protect a mattress. The sheet may wrap around a mattress such that a perimeter of the sheet is on the underside of the mattress. The perimeter of the sheet is further comprised of a drawstring that may be pulled on to cinch the device around the mattress. A first end and a second end of the drawstring each exit the perimeter of the sheet via a grommet that protects the perimeter of the sheet. The drawstring may further be comprised of a fastener that secures the drawstring, keeping the sheet cinched around the mattress.


The present invention is also comprised of a method of using the device. First, a device is provided primarily comprised of a sheet, a perimeter, and a drawstring. Then, the device may be wrapped around a mattress such that the perimeter of the sheet is on the underside of the mattress. Then, the first end and the second end of the drawstring may be pulled, cinching the device and securing it to the mattress. Next, the fastener of the drawstring may be secured to keep the device cinched around the mattress.


Accordingly, the cinching fitted bed sheet device of the present invention is particularly advantageous as it provides a device that covers and protects a mattress. More specifically, the cinching fitted bed sheet device may be applied to any mattress of any size. Furthermore, the cinching fitted bed sheet device can be secured to a mattress easily to prevent the device from inadvertently moving or wrinkling when a person sits or lays on the mattress. In this manner, the cinching fitted bed sheet device overcomes the limitations of existing fitted sheets known in the art.


To the accomplishment of the foregoing and related ends, certain illustrative aspects of the disclosed innovation are described herein in connection with the following description and the annexed drawings. These aspects are indicative, however, of but a few of the various ways in which the principles disclosed herein can be employed and are intended to include all such aspects and their equivalents. Other advantages and novel features will become apparent from the following detailed description when considered in conjunction with the drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The innovation is now described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth to provide a thorough understanding thereof. It may be evident, however, that the innovation can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form to facilitate a description thereof. Various embodiments are discussed hereinafter. It should be noted that the figures are described only to facilitate the description of the embodiments. They are not intended as an exhaustive description of the invention and do not limit the scope of the invention. Additionally, an illustrated embodiment need not have all the aspects or advantages shown. Thus, in other embodiments, any of the features described herein from different embodiments may be combined.


As noted above, there is a long-felt need in the art for an improved fitted sheet. More specifically, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a cinching fitted bed sheet device that may be easily secured to a mattress to prevent the sheet from moving or wrinkling when a person lays on the bed. Furthermore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a cinching fitted bed sheet device that may be secured to cover any mattress of any size.


The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is comprised of a cinching fitted bed sheet device. The device is primarily comprised of a sheet, a perimeter, and a drawstring. The device is designed to cover a mattress and be secured to that mattress by the tightening of a drawstring such that the device may not move or wrinkle when a person lays on the mattress.


More specifically, the device is comprised of a sheet. The sheet may be made of any material that is commonly used to cover mattresses. The sheet is further comprised of a bottom surface that may contact a mattress and wrap around said mattress to protect the mattress as well as provide comfort to a person who lays on the mattress. The bottom surface may further be comprised of a perimeter which is further comprised of at least one grommet.


The perimeter is further comprised of at least one drawstring. The drawstring may exit the perimeter via the grommet to prevent the perimeter from easily tearing. In the preferred embodiment of the device, the perimeter is comprised of a single drawstring, from which a first end and a second end of the drawstring may each exit the perimeter by a separate instance of a grommet. The first end and the second end of the drawstring may be pulled on to cinch the device to a mattress, preventing the device from inadvertently moving. The drawstring may be further comprised of a fastener that may prevent the drawstring from pulling further back into the perimeter of the sheet, keeping the device cinched over the mattress.


The present invention is also comprised of a method of using the device. First, a device is provided primarily comprised of a sheet, a perimeter, and a drawstring. Then, the device may be wrapped around a mattress such that the perimeter of the sheet is on the underside of the mattress. Then, the first end and the second end of the drawstring may be pulled, cinching the device and securing it to the mattress. Next, the fastener of the drawstring may be secured to keep the device cinched around the mattress.


Accordingly, the cinching fitted bed sheet device of the present invention is particularly advantageous as it provides a device that covers and protects a mattress. More specifically, the cinching fitted bed sheet device may be secured to a mattress, preventing the device from moving or wrinkling to provide a more comfortable experience for a user of a mattress. Furthermore, the cinching fitted bed sheet device may be any size such that it may conform to any mattress of any shape or size. In this manner, the cinching fitted bed sheet device overcomes the limitations of existing fitted sheets known in the art.


Referring initially to the drawings, FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of one potential embodiment of a cinching fitted bed sheet device 100 of the present invention in accordance with the disclosed architecture. The device 100 is primarily comprised of a sheet 110 with a perimeter 130 comprised of at least one drawstring 150. The device 100 is designed to cover a mattress 10 and can be secured to said mattress 10 by the tightening of a drawstring 150 such that the device 100 may not move or wrinkle when a person lays on the mattress 10.


The device 100 is comprised of a fitted sheet 110. The sheet 110 is preferably rectangular in shape to conform to the shape of most mattresses 10 and may be made from any material but is preferably made from a material that is commonly used to cover a mattress 10, such as, but not limited to, cotton, bamboo, polyester, linen, silk, microfiber, satin, etc. The sheet 110 may further be comprised of a bottom surface 120 that may wrap around a mattress 10, covering all visible surfaces of the mattress 10. The bottom surface 120 of the sheet 110 may further be a protective surface for the mattress 10, preventing dirt, grime, dust, sweat, etc., from dirtying or staining the mattress 10.


The bottom surface 120 of the sheet 110 may further be comprised of a perimeter 130. The perimeter 130 may further be comprised of at least one drawstring 150 such that the drawstring 150 may be lined inside of the perimeter 130 of the sheet 110. The drawstring 150 may be made from any material such as, but not limited to, paracord, a fiber, an elastic, aramid, jute, steel wire, wicker, synthetic fiber, coir, nylon, hemp, polypropylene, cotton, manila, polyester, etc. In the preferred embodiment of the device 100, the drawstring 150 lines the entire perimeter 130 of the sheet 110. In one part of the perimeter 130, preferably a corner (but it may be any location of the perimeter 130), both the first end 152 and the second end 154 of the drawstring 150 may exit the lining of the perimeter 130.


In this embodiment, the first end 152 and the second end 154 of the drawstring 150 may exit through different openings of the perimeter 130. Each opening may be comprised of at least one grommet 140 to prevent the hole from easily ripping or getting damaged. The grommet 140 is preferably made from a metal or plastic material.


To use the device 100, a user may pull on the first end 152 and the second end 154 of the drawstring 150, tightening the perimeter 130 and cinching it around the mattress 10. A fastener 160 may be used to secure the pulled drawstring 150 in a tightened position to keep the device 100 cinched and secured to the mattress 10. The fastener 160 may be any fastener known in the art such as, but not limited to, a hook-and-loop fastener, a snap button, two reciprocating fasteners, a spring-loaded fastener, a magnet, an adhesive, etc.


The present invention is also comprised of a method 200 of using the device 100, as seen in FIG. 2. First, a device 100 is provided primarily comprised of a sheet 110 with a perimeter 130 comprised of at least one drawstring 150 [Step 202]. Then, the device 100 may be used to cover a mattress 10 such that the perimeter 130 of the sheet 110 is on the underside of the mattress 10 [Step 204]. Then, the first end 152 and the second end 154 of the drawstring 150 may be pulled outwards from grommets 140 of the device 100, thus cinching the device 100 and securing the device 100 to/around the mattress 10 [Step 206]. Finally, at least one fastener 160 of the drawstring 150 may be used to secure the tightened position of the drawstring 150 to keep the device 100 cinched around the mattress 10 [Step 208].

As one skilled in the art will appreciate, different persons may refer to the same feature or component by different names. This document does not intend to distinguish between components or features that differ in name but not structure or function. As used herein “cinching fitted bed sheet device” and “device” are interchangeable and refer to the cinching fitted bed sheet device 100 of the present invention.


Notwithstanding the foregoing, the cinching fitted bed sheet device 100 of the present invention and its various components can be of any suitable size and configuration as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention, provided that they accomplish the above-stated objectives. One of ordinary skill in the art will appreciate that the size, configuration, and material of the cinching fitted bed sheet device 100 as shown in the FIGS. are for illustrative purposes only, and that many other sizes and shapes of the cinching fitted bed sheet device 100 are well within the scope of the present disclosure. Although the dimensions of the cinching fitted bed sheet device 100 are important design parameters for user convenience, the cinching fitted bed sheet device 100 may be of any size, shape, and/or configuration that ensures optimal performance during use and/or that suits the user's needs and/or preferences.


Various modifications and additions can be made to the exemplary embodiments discussed without departing from the scope of the present invention. While the embodiments described above refer to particular features, the scope of this invention also includes embodiments having different combinations of features and embodiments that do not include all the described features. Accordingly, the scope of the present invention is intended to embrace all such alternatives, modifications, and variations as fall within the scope of the claims, together with all equivalents thereof.

Furthermore, to the extent that the term “includes” is used in either the detailed description or the claims, such term is intended to be inclusive in a manner similar to the term “comprising” as “comprising” is interpreted when employed as a transitional word in a claim.

Claims
  • 1. A cinching fitted bed sheet device comprising: a sheet comprised of a drawstring, a grommet, and a fastener.
  • 2. The cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 1, wherein the sheet is comprised of a fitted sheet.
  • 3. The cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 1, wherein the sheet is comprised of a cotton, a bamboo, a polyester, a linen, a silk, a microfiber, or a satin.
  • 4. The cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 1, wherein the sheet is comprised of a bottom surface.
  • 5. The cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 4, wherein the drawstring is positioned around a perimeter of the bottom surface.
  • 6. The cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 1, wherein the fastener is comprised of a spring-loaded fastener.
  • 7. The cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 1, wherein the drawstring is comprised of a paracord, a fiber, an elastic, an aramid, a jute, a steel wire, a wicker, a synthetic fiber, a coir, a nylon, a hemp, a polypropylene, a cotton, a manila, or a polyester.
  • 8. A cinching fitted bed sheet device comprising: a fitted sheet comprised of a drawstring that surrounds a perimeter of a bottom surface of the fitted sheet;a grommet; anda fastener positioned on the drawstring.
  • 9. The cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 8, wherein the fastener is comprised of a spring-loaded fastener.
  • 10. The cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 8, wherein the fastener is comprised of a hook and loop fastener, a snap button fastener, a set of reciprocating fasteners, or a magnet fastener.
  • 11. The cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 8, wherein the sheet is comprised of a cotton, a bamboo, a polyester, a linen, a silk, a microfiber, or a satin.
  • 12. The cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 8, wherein the drawstring is comprised of a paracord, a fiber, an elastic, an aramid, a jute, a steel wire, a wicker, a synthetic fiber, a coir, a nylon, a hemp, a polypropylene, a cotton, a manila, or a polyester.
  • 13. A method of using a cinching fitted bed sheet device, the method comprising the following steps: providing a cinching fitted bed sheet device comprised of a sheet comprised of a perimeter comprised of a drawstring;covering a mattress with the sheet;pulling the drawstring outwards from a grommet of the device; andsecuring the tightened position of the drawstring via a fastener.
  • 14. The method of using a cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 13, wherein the sheet is comprised of a cotton, a bamboo, a polyester, a linen, a silk, a microfiber, or a satin.
  • 15. The method of using a cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 13, wherein the sheet is comprised of a bottom surface.
  • 16. The method of using a cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 15, wherein the drawstring is positioned around a perimeter of the bottom surface.
  • 17. The method of using a cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 13, wherein the sheet is comprised of a fitted sheet.
  • 18. The method of using a cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 13, wherein the drawstring is comprised of an elastic.
  • 19. The method of using a cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 13, wherein the fastener is comprised of a spring-loaded fastener.
  • 20. The method of using a cinching fitted bed sheet device of claim 13, wherein the fastener is comprised of a hook and loop fastener, a snap button fastener, a set of reciprocating fasteners, or a magnet fastener.
