Claims
- 1. A method for preventing or treating a gastroenteric disorder in a patient, which comprises administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of a cinnoline compound of the following formula (I): ##STR45## wherein X is --O-- or a group of the formula: ##STR46## (wherein R.sup.4 is a hydrogen atom or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group); A is a group of the formula: ##STR47## (wherein n is an integer selected from 1 to 3; R.sup.5 is a hydrogen atom, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl group or C.sub.7 -C.sub.15 aralkyl group); R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group, C.sub.2 -C.sub.5 alkenyl group, C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkynyl group, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl group, C.sub.4 -C.sub.9 cycloalkylalkyl group, C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 alkoxyalkyl group or C.sub.7 -C.sub.15 aralkyl group; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each is independently a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, trifluoromethyl group, hydroxyl group, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy group, cyano group, nitro group, amino group, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkylamino group, C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 dialkylamino group, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkylthio group, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl group, C.sub.7 -C.sub.15 aralkyl group or C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 acyl group or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, its N-oxide derivatives, or solvates thereof.
- 2. A method for preventing or treating nausea and/or emesis in a patient, which comprises administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of a cinnoline compound of the following formula (I): ##STR48## wherein X is --O-- or a group of the formula: ##STR49## (wherein R.sup.4 is a hydrogen atom or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group); A is a group of the formula: ##STR50## (wherein n is an integer selected from 1 to 3; R.sup.5 is a hydrogen atom, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl group or C.sub.7 -C.sub.15 aralkyl group); R.sup.l is a hydrogen atom, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group, C.sub.2 -C.sub.5 alkenyl group, C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkynyl group, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl group, C.sub.4 -C.sub.9 cycloalkylalkyl group, C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 alkoxyalkyl group or C.sub.7 -C.sub.15 aralkyl group; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each is independently a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, trifluoromethyl group, hydroxyl group, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy group, cyano group, nitro group, amino group, C.sub.l -C.sub.5 alkylamino group, C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 dialkylamino group, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkylthio group, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl group, C.sub.7 -C.sub.15 aralkyl group or C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 acyl group or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, its N-oxide derivatives, or solvates thereof.
