Claims
- 1. A combination for use in a coaxial cable distribution network, comprising:
- a conducting housing having walls and at least two ports in said walls,
- means at each of said ports for connecting a coaxial cable, having inner and outer conductors,
- a plate of insulating material mounted in said housing,
- an RF path on said plate and means for connecting each end of said path to a coaxial cable inner conductor at a first and at a second one of said ports a conducting ground plane on one surface of said plate and means for connecting said ground plane to said housing as close as practical to said first, and as close as practical to said second one of said ports,
- whereby said ground plane provides a path between said first and second ports which accompanies RF path.
- 2. A combination as claimed in claim 1 wherein said ground plane is in approximate characteristic impedance relationship to said RF path.
- 3. A combination as claimed in claim 1 wherein an AC path is provided on said plate,
- said AC path forming part of an AC circuit,
- said AC path being electrically reversible.
- 4. A combination as claimed in claim 3 wherein said RF path is separate from said AC path over an extent,
- said extent of said RF path including an input to a directional coupler circuit.
- 5. A combination as claimed in claim 4 wherein said coupler circuit is located an a second plate of insulating material,
- where said second plate includes a second ground plane and wherein said second ground plane is electrically connected to said first ground plane,
- and wherein said second ground plane is electrically connected to the housing.
- 6. A combination as claimed in claim 5 wherein said first mentioned ground plane is in approximate characteristic impedance relationship to said RF path and said second ground plane is in approximate characteristic impedance relationship to said coupler circuit.
