Claims
- 1. A circuit for use with a coaxial cable distribution network, contained in a housing having at least two ports,
- a first insulating plate mounting said circuit,
- said circuit including a first RF extent for connection to a first port and a second RF extent for connection to a second port,
- a gap between said extents,
- a coupler circuit having fist and second input terminals for connection to said first and second extents,
- said coupler first and second input terminals being reversible relative to said connection to said first and second extents.
- 2. A circuit as claimed in claim 1 having a choke coil between said first and second extents, in parallel with said coupler.
- 3. A circuit as claimed in claim 1 wherein said coupler circuit is selectively disconnectable from said extents.
- 4. A circuit as claimed in claim 3 for separately connecting said extents before said coupler circuit is disconnected and disconnecting said extents after said coupler circuit is connected.
- 5. A circuit as claimed in claim 3 wherein a choke coil connects said extents independently of said coupler circuit.
- 6. A circuit as claimed in claim 1 wherein said housing has three ports, one said extent being connected to one of said ports and the other said extent being optionally connectable to one of the two remaining ports.
- 7. A circuit as claimed in claim 1 wherein each of said extents includes a connection to respective ends of a choke coil and each said extent includes a capacitor between said extent and said gap.
- 8. A circuit as claimed in claim 1 wherein a second insulating plate mounts said coupler, at least two probes on said first insulating plate and at least two sockets on the second insulator plate.
- 9. A circuit as claimed in claim 1 having a choke coil on said first insulating plate connected to said first and second extents in parallel to said coupler.
- 10. A circuit for use with a coaxial cable distribution network contained in a housing,
- said housing having at least two ports for respective connection of the outer conductor of a coaxial cable to said housing,
- said circuit including an RF path between said ports,
- means defining a ground plane connected to said housing adjacent one port and connected to said housing adjacent said other port,
- said ground plane being arranged relative to said RF path to provide an approximation of the characteristic impedance therebetween.
- 11. A circuit as claimed in claim 10 having means for electrically connecting said RF path to the central conductor of the coaxial cable at each of said ports and means for connecting said ground plane to the outer conductor of a coaxial cable at each of said ports.
