Claims
- 1. A sinker element for two dimensional displacement in a circular knitting machine comprising,
- a curved planar body portion having a convex and a concave contoured defining marginal edge and terminating in a selectively shaped multilanded point means at one terminal end thereof and in a transversely disposed cross arm at the other terminal end thereof,
- a cam butt disposed at each extending end of said cross arm,
- said selectively shaped multilanded point means being formed by a first essentially straight marginal edge segment serving as a first land disposed above and at an obtuse angle relative to the end portion of the convex contoured marginal edge of said body portion which serves as a second land,
- one end portion of said first land being disposed in overhanging spaced relation with at least a portion of said second land with an arcuate recess disposed intermediate said first and second lands.
- 2. A sinker element as set forth in claim 1 wherein the other end of said first essentially straight marginal edge segment terminates in a rounded point.
- 3. A sinker element set forth in claim 1 wherein the base of said curved body portion and said transversely disposed cross arm are of a generally "T" shaped configuration.
- 4. A sinker element as set forth in claim 1 wherein said cam butts are of generally circular configuration.
