Claims
- 1. A cleaning apparatus comprising:a paddle, the paddle having a peripheral edge defined in part by first and second opposed ends, the paddle having a concave shape between the first and second ends; a cleaning element removably affixed to the paddle, the cleaning element including a body having a first surface aligned with the paddle, and side edges disposed over the peripheral edge of the paddle, and means, mounted on the side edges of the cleaning element, for elastically and removably securing the cleaning element to the paddle; a handle having opposed outwardly extending end pins; and first and second receivers spacedly carried on the paddle, each of the first and second receivers pivotally receiving one pin on the handle to pivotally connect the handle and the paddle for pivotal movement with respect to each other only about an axis extending between the first and second receivers, wherein the pivot axis is disposed at an angle to the axis of the paddle extending between the first and second ends.
- 2. The cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein:the side edges of the cleaning element are drawn inward by the securing means to form an opening normally smaller than the dimensions of the peripheral edge of the paddle when the cleaning element is affixed to the paddle.
- 3. The cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein the cleaning element is formed of a fluid absorbent material.
- 4. The cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein the cleaning element is formed of a rough textured material to form a scrubbing surface.
- 5. The cleaning apparatus of claim 4 wherein the rough textured material is an open mesh material.
- 6. The cleaning apparatus of claim 4 further comprising:a fluid absorbent material layer interposed between the paddle and the cleaning element for dispensing fluid through the cleaning element.
- 7. The cleaning apparatus of claim 1 further comprising:a cleaning apparatus kit adapted for cleaning surfaces, the kit comprising: a plurality of interchangeably usable paddles, each paddle having a different peripheral edge shape defined in part by opposed first and second ends, each paddle having a concave shape between the first and second ends; one handle connectable to each of the plurality of paddles; means, carried on the paddle and the handle, for releasably and pivotally connecting the handle to each one of the paddles; and a plurality of cleaning elements, each removably attachable one at a time to one of the paddles.
- 8. The cleaning apparatus of claim 4 further comprising:the first and second receivers separately carried on the paddle.
- 9. The cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein:the first and second receivers are integrally molded with the paddle.
- 10. The cleaning apparatus of claim 1 wherein the first and second receivers comprise:a body having a side face, a bore extending from the side face into the body; each bore pivotally receiving one end pin on the handle to pivotally couple the handle and the paddle.
