DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 9 thereof, a new cleaning attachment embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 9, the cleaning attachment assembly 10 generally comprises a ring 12, which has a first end 14 that is configured for insertion of a spray head 16 so that the ring 12 is selectively couplable to the spray head 16 with a second end 18 of the ring 12 extending from the spray head 16.

The first end 14 is at least one of circumferentially equivalent, circumferentially smaller, and circumferentially larger relative to the second end 18 of the ring 12. As will become apparent, relative sizing of the first end 14 and the second end 18 has differential effects on the water sprayed from the spray head 16.

A coupler 20 that is coupled to the ring 12 is configured to selectively couple to the spray head 16 to removably couple the ring 12 to the spray head 16. In one embodiment, the ring 12 comprises the coupler 20. At least the first end 14 of the ring 12 is resiliently deformable and circumferentially smaller than the spray head 16. In this embodiment, the ring 12 comprises at least one of plastic, silicone, rubber and is configured to be stretched to insert the spray head 16 and to rebound to couple to the spray head 16.

A cleaning tool 22 is coupled to and extends from the second end 18 of the ring 12. The cleaning tool 22 is configured for at least one of scrubbing and scraping a soiled article to enhance a degree of cleaning of the soiled article relative to a degree of cleaning of the soiled article achieved solely utilizing water that is sprayed from the spray head 16.

The cleaning tool 22 comprises at least one of a plurality of bristles 24 and a plate 26. The bristles 24 are configured to brush the soiled article and a distal edge 28 of the plate 26 is configured to scrape the soiled article.

The plurality of bristles 24 may be positioned in a plurality of sets 30, or in other configurations, such as, but not limited to, evenly disbursed, irregularly positioned, and the like. The sets 30 are substantially evenly spaced around a circumference 32 of the second end 18 of the ring 12. The bristles 24 comprise at least one of plastic, silicone, rubber, and metal. Bristles 24 comprising at least one plastic, silicone, and rubber would be suitable for an assembly 10 that is to be coupled to a spray head 16 of a shower assembly or to be coupled to a spray head 16 of a kitchen faucet. Bristles 24 comprising metal would be suitable for an assembly 10 that is to be coupled to a spray head 16 of a kitchen faucet, as shown in FIG. 5. The plate 26 is coupled to and extends between opposing sides 34 of the ring 12 proximate to a bottom 36 of the ring 12.

A lip 38 is coupled of the ring 12 and extends radially into the ring 12. The lip 38 is configured to abut the spray head 16 that is inserted into the ring 12 so that the ring 12 is fixedly positioned relative to the spray head 16. The lip 38 is at least one of planar and concavely arcuate when viewed from the first end 14 of the ring 12. An assembly 10 having a lip 38 that is planar would be complementary to a spray head 16 that has a planar terminus. An assembly 10 having a lip 38 that is concavely arcuate would be complementary to a spray head 16 that has a convexly arcuate terminus. The lip 38 is positioned at least one of adjacently to the second end 18 and proximate to the first end 14.

In one embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 1-6 and 9. The first end 14 of the ring 12 is circumferentially equivalent to the second end 18 of the ring 12 and the lip 38 is positioned adjacently to the second end 18. In this embodiment, the sets 30 may be alternately coupled to the second end 18 of the ring 12 and the lip 38, as shown in FIG. 4.

In another embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the lip 38 is positioned proximate to the first end 14. As shown in FIG. 7, the first end 14 may be circumferentially smaller relative to the second end 18 of the ring 12 so that the ring 12 serves to concentrate the water that is sprayed from the spray head 16. As shown in FIG. 8, the first end 14 may be circumferentially larger relative to the second end 18 of the ring 12 so that the ring 12 does not impede the spray of water as it exits the spray head 16.

In yet another embodiment, as shown in 2. The ring 12 is internally threaded so that the ring 12 is configured to be threadedly coupled to an externally threaded spray head 16. In this embodiment, the ring 12 may comprise metal.

In use, a spray head 16 is inserted into the first end 14 of the ring 12 to couple the ring 12 to the spray head 16 with the spray head 16 abutting the lip 38. The plurality of bristles 24 and/or the plate 26 that is coupled to the second end 18 of the ring 12 is configured to assist the user in cleaning the soiled article to a degree of cleanliness higher than could be achieved solely utilizing water that is sprayed from the spray head 16.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the elements is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
