Claims
- 1. A method of cleaning produce using an article comprising a spray container which comprises a manually-activated, trigger-type spray means, suitable for use by an individual to clean produce, containing a cleaning solution which consists essentially of:(a) from about 0.1% to about 5% by weight of sodium oleate; (b) optionally, from about 0.1% to about 4% by weight of a nonionic surfactant; (c) optionally, from about 0.2% to about 4% by weight of organic polycarboxylate detergency builder; (d) optionally, a toxicologically-acceptable basic buffer; and (e) the balance being water or water-ethanol fluid, which has a pH of at least about 9.5 to about 12.5, comprising the steps of: spraying said cleaning solution onto the food product to be cleaned; rubbing; and either rinsing, wiping off with a suitable material, or rinsing and wiping off with a suitable material.
