Claims
- 1. A cleaning pad for use on a cleaning system in which cleaning fluid or other liquid is dispensed onto a surface in front of a cleaning head portion, the cleaning pad comprising:
a central absorbent and scrubbing portion; a back edge portion for removably attaching the cleaning pad to the cleaning head portion; and a front edge portion for removably attaching the cleaning pad to the cleaning head portion, the front edge portion having a notch thereon, thereby allowing attachment of the cleaning pad to the cleaning head portion such that cleaning or other fluid can be dispensed from the cleaning head portion onto a surface in front of the cleaning head portion without interference by the cleaning pad.
- 2. The cleaning pad of claim 1 in which the shape of the notch is hemispherical.
- 3. The cleaning pad of claim 1 in which the notch is centered on the front edge portion.
- 4. The cleaning pad of claim 1 in which the back edge portion has a notch thereon.
- 5. A cleaning pad for use on a cleaning system in which cleaning fluid or other liquid is dispensed from or adjacent to the head portion, the cleaning pad comprising:
an essentially rectangular, central portion; a rear attaching strip portion; and a front attaching strip portion, the front attaching strip portion having a notch therein, whereby cleaning fluid or other liquid can be dispensed from or adjacent the head portion without interference by the front attaching strip portion.
- 6. The cleaning pad of claim 5 in which the central portion comprises an absorbent portion.
- 7. The cleaning pad of claim 5 in which the central portion comprises a scrubbing portion.
- 8. The cleaning pad of claim 5 further comprising a liquid impermeable membrane on one side of the cleaning pad.
- 9. The cleaning pad of claim 5 in which the central portion further comprises an apertured portion for retaining soil and debris.
- 10. The cleaning pad of claim 5 further comprising a scrim portion for retaining soil and debris.
- 11. The cleaning pad of claim 5 further comprising a scrim portion for surface scrubbing and removal of soil and debris.
- 12. A cleaning pad comprising a central, essentially rectangular portion and two side strips, wherein one of the side strips has a side cut notch to prevent interference with flow of cleaning fluid or other liquid.
- 13. The cleaning pad of claim 12 in which both of the side strips has a side cut notch to prevent interference with flow of cleaning fluid or other liquid.
- 14. The cleaning pad of claim 12 further comprising a fluid impermeable membrane attached to one side of the cleaning pad to prevent transfer of fluid through the essentially rectangular portion.
- 15. The cleaning pad of claim 12 further comprising a fluid absorbent portion attached to the cleaning pad.
- 15. The cleaning pad of claim 12 in which the central portion further comprises a cleaning agent.
- 16. The cleaning pad of claim 12 in which the side cut notch is shaped.
- 17. The cleaning pad of claim 12 in which side cut notch is defined by a perforated section in the side strip which is torn out by a user.
