FIG. 8 is a perspective view of the holder-clamp portion of the clip-on lamp, the ball-head being omitted for illustrative purposes only.

A clip-on lamp comprises a spherical or ball-shaped hend with a transparent front window and two light-emitting diodes inside the window. The rear side of the head has a series of radial grooves to facilitate unscrewing the rear portion. The head is held at its side by two fork arms that flare up and out from a swivel ball. The swivel ball is in turn mounted in two short fork arms that extend up and are integral with a first leg of a two-legged clamp. The first leg has a projecting arm extending from the leg below its short fork arms. A second leg of the clamp is pivoted on the projecting arm and curves down to a padded foot which is matingly aligned with a padded foot on the first arm. An operating grip projects from the outside of the curved part of the second arm.
