Claims
- 1. An attachment clip for attaching a member to a wall member, said attachment clip comprising:
- a head to which said member is attached and which is positioned on one side of said wall member;
- a leg projecting integrally from said head and penetrating through said wall member, said leg having a distal end portion for insertion through an opening in the wall member;
- pawls provided on said leg, said leg being radially expandable after penetration through said wall member to clamp said wall member between said pawls and said head for preventing said leg from slipping out of the wall member; and
- tubular thin-wall portions made of soft resin and formed around respective outer peripheries of said pawls and said leg, each thin-wall portion having a distal end spaced from the head and extending toward the distal end portion of the leg, said thin-wall portions being interconnected to prevent the thin-wall portions from moving relative to at least one part of the leg and the pawls in the direction of the extension of said leg, whereby said thin-wall portions come into contact with an inner peripheral wall of a through hole in said wall member, when said leg is inserted into said through hole, for preventing damage of said through hole due to direct engagement of said leg against the inner peripheral wall of said through hole, at least a portion of said head being free of the thin walled portions.
- 2. An attachment clip according to claim 1, wherein said thin-wall portions are formed with a substantially uniform thickness around the outer periphery of said leg.
- 3. An attachment clip according to claim 1, wherein a flange extending from said thin-wall portion is positioned over a surface of said head associated with said wall member for being brought into abutment against said wall member.
- 4. An attachment clip according to claim 1, wherein said leg has intermediate portions in the lengthwise direction thereof for providing a maximum diameter portion of said leg, said pawls being formed at said maximum diameter portion.
- 5. An attachment clip according to claim 1, wherein said pawls are disposed at the end of the leg adjacent the head, and the tubular thin-wall portions cover the respective outer peripheries of said leg and said pawls.
- 6. An attachment clip according to claim 1, wherein said leg has a diameter that is gradually reduced from an intermediate portion to a distal end thereof and which is directed ahead at the time of insertion, and said thin-wall portions form a diameter that is gradually reduced correspondingly.
- 7. An attachment clip according to claim 5, wherein said leg comprises a pair of branched arms and said thin-wall portions comprise a pair of tubular sections coated around said pair of branched arms, respectively, and another tubular section coated around an outer periphery of said leg, said pair of tubular sections and said another tubular section being interconnected together at a part.
- 8. An attachment clip according to claim 5, wherein said thin-wall portions are coated over the distal end of said leg as well.
- 9. An attachment clip for attaching a member to a wall member, said attachment clip comprising:
- a head to which said member is attached and which is positioned on one side of said wall member;
- a leg projecting integrally from said head and penetrating through said wall member, said leg having a distal end portion for insertion through an opening in the wall member;
- pawls provided on said leg, said leg being radially expandable after penetration through said wall member to clamp said wall member between said pawls and said head for preventing said leg from slipping out of the wall member;
- tubular thin-wall portions made of soft resin and formed around respective outer peripheries of said pawls and said leg, each thin-wall portion having a distal end spaced from the head and extending toward the distal end portion of the leg, said thin-wall portions being interconnected to prevent the thin-wall portions from moving relative to at least one part of the leg and the pawls in the direction of the extension of said leg, whereby said thin-wall portions come into contact with an inner peripheral wall of a through hole in said wall member, when said leg is inserted into said through hole, for preventing damage of said through hole due to direct engagement of said leg against the inner peripheral wall of said through hole;
- said leg having intermediate portions in the lengthwise direction thereof for providing a maximum diameter portion of said leg, said pawls being formed at said maximum diameter portion; and
- wherein the distal ends of said tubular thin-wall portions are partially interconnected.
- 10. An attachment clip according to claim 9, wherein the leg comprises a pair of branched members having ends adjacent the head, and wherein said branched members are plate-like members each having a rectangular shape in cross-section at a right angle to the lengthwise direction thereof for being pliable so as to elastically deform during and after insertion into said wall member, and are narrower in the area ranging from said intermediate portions of the leg to the ends of the branched members adjacent to the head, and said tubular thin-wall portions are correspondingly narrower in the area of said leg ranging from said intermediate portions to the ends of the branched members adjacent to the head.
- 11. An attachment clip having a lock portion to which an ornamental member is attached, and a leg fixedly insertable into a through hole in an attachment member such as a plate, said attachment clip comprising:
- a head integrally interposed between said lock portion and said leg, having a diameter larger than that of said leg, for pressing against one surface of said attachment member;
- a connecting member extending from said head;
- a pair of branched members connected to said head by said connecting member and constituting a part of said leg, approaching each other gradually toward and joining integrally at the distal end of said leg, which is directed ahead at the time of insertion, said branched members being deformable elastically;
- a pawl formed on each of said pair of branched members, the pawl being located at portions of the branched members spaced away from each other by a maximum distance, for pressing against the attachment member to fixedly hold said leg to said attachment member; and
- a pliable thin-wall portion fixedly coated around respective outer peripheries of said pawls and around at least that outer periphery of said leg which comes into contact with an inner periphery of said through hole during insertion of said leg into said attachment member for preventing damage of said through hole due to direct engagement of said leg against the inner peripheral wall of said through hole;
- said pliable thin-wall portion comprising thin tubular sections coated around respective outer peripheries of said branched members, said tubular sections being interconnected together at one part for preventing movement of the tubular sections as the leg is inserted in said through hole, at least a portion of said head being free of the thin wall portions of soft resin.
- 12. An attachment clip according to claim 11, wherein said thin-wall portion is formed with a substantially uniform thickness around the outer periphery of said leg.
- 13. An attachment clip according to claim 11, wherein the ends of said tubular sections being interconnected near the distal end of said leg for preventing slip between said thin-wall portion and said leg.
- 14. An attachment clip according to claim 13, wherein a flange integrally extending from said tubular sections is provided to cover that portion of said head which is pressed against one surface of said attachment member.
- 15. An attachment clip having a lock portion to which an ornamental member is attached, and a leg fixedly insertable into a through hole in an attachment member such as a plate, said attachment clip comprising:
- a head integrally interposed between said lock portion and said leg, having a diameter larger than that of said leg, for pressing against one surface of said attachment member;
- a connecting member extending from said head;
- a pair of branched members connected to said head by said connecting member and constituting a part of said leg, approaching each other gradually toward and joining integrally at the distal end of said leg, which is directed ahead at the time of insertion, said branched members being deformable elastically;
- a pawl formed on each of said pair of branched members, the pawl being located at portions of the branched members spaced away from each other by a maximum distance, for pressing against the attachment member to fixedly hold said leg to said attachment member;
- a pliable thin-wall portion fixedly coated around respective outer peripheries of said pawls and around at least that outer periphery of said leg which comes into contact with an inner periphery of said through hole during insertion of said leg into said attachment member for preventing damage of said through hole due to direct engagement of said leg against the inner peripheral wall of said through hole;
- said pliable thin-wall portion comprising thin tubular sections coated around respective outer peripheries of said branched member, said tubular sections being interconnected together at one part for preventing movement of the tubular sections as the leg is inserted in said through hole; and
- wherein said thin-wall portion is coated throughout the outer periphery of said leg except for the vicinity of a connecting portion of said leg with said head.
- 16. A clip having a lock portion to which an ornamental member is attached, and a leg fixedly inserted into a through hole in an attachment member comprising:
- a head integrally interposed between said lock portion and said leg, having a larger diameter than that of said leg, for pressing against one surface of said attachment member;
- said leg includes a pair of branched arms projecting from a distal end of said leg, which leg is directed ahead at the time of insertion, said branched arms being integrally joined near the distal end of the leg and progressively spaced closer to each other from the head toward the distal end of the leg and deformable elastically;
- pawls provided at the respective distal ends of said branched arms, for pressing against an inner periphery of said through hole on the side of the other surface of said attachment member to clamp said attachment member between said pawls and said head; and
- tubular thin-wall pliable members formed and fixedly coated around respective outer peripheries of said pawls and around at least those outer peripheries of said branched arms which come into contact with the inner periphery of said through hole during insertion of said leg into said through hole for preventing damage of said through hole due to direct engagement of said leg against the inner peripheral wall of said through hole, said portions of said pliable member surrounding the outer peripheries of the pawls being interconnected to be relatively immovable in the direction of movement of the leg when the leg is inserted in the through hole, at least a portion of said head being free of the thin wall portions of soft resin.
- 17. A clip according to claim 16, wherein said pliable members are coated throughout the outer peripheries of said leg except for a portion of said leg connected to said head.
- 18. An attachment clip having a lock portion to which an ornamental member is attached, and a leg fixedly insertable into a through hole in an attachment member such as a plate, said attachment clip comprising:
- a head integrally interposed between said lock portion and said leg, having a diameter larger than that of said leg, for pressing against one surface of said attachment member;
- at least one extending member projecting from said head and constituting a part of said leg, which is directed ahead at the time of insertion, said extending member being deformable elastically;
- pawls formed on said extending member, the pawls being located at portions of the extending member and separated from each other by a distance greater than a width of said hole, for pressing against the attachment member to fixedly hold said leg to said attachment member;
- a pliable circular flange, having a surface directed towards said attachment member, said surface of the flange having means for linearly contacting the attachment member around the through hole in the attachment member, said flange being provided at a portion of said head which is pressed against said attachment member, for cooperating with said pawls to pliably and closely attach said attachment clip to said attachment member; and
- pliable thin-wall portions fixedly coated around respective outer peripheries of said pawls and around at least the outer periphery of said leg which comes into contact with an inner periphery of said through hole during insertion of said leg into said attachment member for preventing damage of said through hole due to direct engagement of said leg against the inner peripheral wall of said through hole, said pliable thin-wall portions being coated around respective outer peripheries of said extending member, at least a portion of said head being free of the thin wall portions of soft resin.
- 19. The attachment clip of claim 18, wherein the thin wall portions are interconnected at one point.
