Claims
- 1. In an archery bow string of the type having a plurality of strands, the improvement comprising:
- a first strand comprising micro fibers, the first strand being twisted in a clockwise manner; and
- a second strand comprising micro fibers, the second strand being twisted in a counter clockwise manner, wherein the amount of twists is approximately the same as that of the first strand.
- 2. The archery bow string of claim 1, comprising a plurality of each first and second strands.
- 3. The archery bow string of claim 2, the first and second strands each comprising a plurality of strings, the strings of the first strand(s) being twisted in a clockwise manner and the strings of the second strand(s) being twisted in a counter clockwise manner.
- 4. The archery bow string of claim 2, further comprising a peep sight having an eye and left and right edges on either side of the eye inserted between and held by the strands, the peep sight having approximately the same amount of strands along either edge of the peep sight, wherein the amount of first strands on one edge is approximately equal to the amount of second strands on the other edge, whereby the forces exerted by the strands on the peep sight over time cancel out to prevent misalignment of the peep sight.
- 5. The archery bow string of claim 4, the edges of the peep sight comprising a peripheral channel through which the strands hold the peep sight.
- 6. The archery bow string of claim 2, wherein all the strands are grouped together and twisted in one direction.
- 7. The archery bow string of claim 6, the first and second strands each comprising a plurality of strings, the strings of the first strand(s) being twisted in a clockwise manner and the strings of the second strand(s) being twisted in a counter clockwise manner.
- 8. The archery bow string of claim 1, the first and second strands each comprising a plurality of strings, the strings of the first strand(s) being twisted in a clockwise manner and the strings of the second strand(s) being twisted in a counter clockwise manner.
- 9. A method of making a bowstring comprising the steps:
- supplying a plurality of bow string strands comprising micro fibers;
- twisting approximately 1/2 of the strands in a clockwise direction;
- twisting the other approximately 1/2 of the strands in a counter clockwise direction, twisting approximately the same amount of times as the strands twisted in the clockwise direction; and
- binding all of the strands together.
- 10. An archery bow string, the bow string having a plurality of strands and being configured and constructed to fit and be usable on a bow, the bow string comprising:
- a first strand comprising micro fibers, the first strand being twisted in a clockwise manner; and
- a second strand comprising micro fibers, the second strand being twisted in a counter clockwise manner, the strands being connected together to form a usable bow string, wherein the amount of twists is approximately the same as that of the first strand.
- 11. The archery bow string of claim 10, comprising a plurality of each first and second strands.
- 12. The archery bow string of claim 10, the first and second strands each comprising a plurality of strings, the strings of the first strand(s) being twisted in a clockwise manner and the strings of the second strand(s) being twisted in a counter clockwise manner.
- 13. The archery bow string of claim 10, further comprising a peep sight having an eye and left and right edges on either side of the eye inserted between and held by the strands, the peep sight having approximately the same amount of strands along either edge of the peep sight, wherein the amount of first strands on one edge is approximately equal to the amount of second strands on the other edge, whereby the forces exerted by the strands on the peep sight over time cancel out to prevent misalignment of the peep sight.
- 14. The archery bow string of claim 13, the edges of the peep sight comprising a peripheral channel through which the strands hold the peep sight.
- 15. The archery bow string of claim 13, the first and second strands each comprising a plurality of strings, the strings of the first strand(s) being twisted in a clockwise manner and the strings of the second strand(s) being twisted in a counter clockwise manner.
- 16. An archery bow comprising:
- a bow frame; and
- a bow string comprising a plurality of parallel strands operatively connected to the bow frame, the plurality of parallel strands comprising:
- a first strand, the first strand being twisted in a clockwise manner; and
- a second strand, the second strand being twisted in a counter clockwise manner, wherein the amount of twists is approximately the same as that of the first strand.
- 17. The archery bow string of claim 16, comprising a plurality of each first and second strands.
- 18. The archery bow string of claim 16, the first and second strands each comprising a plurality of strings, the strings of the first strand(s) being twisted in a clockwise manner and the strings of the second strand(s) being twisted in a counter clockwise manner.
- 19. The archery bow string of claim 13, further comprising a peep sight having an eye and left and right edges on either side of the eye inserted between and held by the strands, the peep sight having approximately the same amount of strands along either edge of the peep sight, wherein the amount of first strands on one edge is approximately equal to the amount of second strands on the other edge, whereby the forces exerted by the strands on the peep sight over time cancel out to prevent misalignment of the peep sight.
- 20. The archery bow string of claim 19, the edges of the peep sight comprising a peripheral channel through which the strands hold the peep sight.
