Claims
- 1. A door assembly adapted to be mounted in alternate positions on the front panel of a clothes dryer cabinet so that the door assembly can be configured to be opened from either the left or right side, said door assembly comprising:
- a door panel having a handle and a latching mechanism mounted adjacent to one lateral edge and hinges mounted at the opposite lateral edge; and
- an inner liner comprising means for mounting said liner to said front panel in alternate inverted orientations of said door panel wherein said door panel can be inverted to reverse the respective sides of said edges to reverse the opening side of said door assembly while maintaining said inner liner in the same orientation.
- 2. The door assembly recited in claim 1 wherein said inner liner comprises a lower region with a hollow having perforations and a bottom aperture to provide a passageway for air to flow through said door assembly.
- 3. The door assembly recited in claim 2 wherein said door assembly comprises an upper region having a thickness less than the thickness of said lower region.
- 4. The door assembly recited in claim 1 further comprising screws inserted at corresponding locations through said one and opposite edges of said door panel into said liner to secure said liner to said door panel.
- 5. The door assembly recited in claim 4 wherein predetermined ones of said screws mount said hinges to said door panel.
