DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1 and 2, a clothes rack 10 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a hanging tube 11, two spaced connectors 12 each mounted on the hanging tube 11, two retractable uprights 13 each having an upper portion connected to the respective connector 12 and a lower portion connected to a stand 14, two substantially T-shaped support seats 122 each mounted on the respective connector 12, and a top frame 15 detachably mounted between the two support seats 122.

The hanging tube 11 has two ends each provided with a secondary tube 16.

Each of the two connectors 12 is substantially T-shaped and has a sleeve 120 mounted on the hanging tube 11, and each of the two support seats 122 is mounted on the sleeve 120 of the respective connector 12.

Each of the two retractable uprights 13 includes an outer tube 131 having a lower end mounted on the stand 14, an inner tube 132 retractably mounted in the outer tube 131 and having an upper end connected to the respective connector 12, and a clamping member 130 mounted between the outer tube 131 and the inner tube 132 to clamp the inner tube 132 onto the outer tube 131.

Referring to FIGS. 1-5, each of the support seats 122 is perpendicular to the respective connector 12 and protruded upwardly from a top of the respective connector 12. Each of the support seats 122 has a top formed with a substantially U-shaped mounting portion 122a having an inside formed with a substantially rectangular slot 122b which is extended longitudinally through a whole length of the mounting portion 122a of each of the support seats 122. The slot 122b of each of the support seats 122 has a side wall formed with an inwardly extending snapping portion 122c.

The top frame 15 has a net-shaped inside provided with a plurality of lengthwise strips 150 and a plurality of crosswise strips 152 intersecting with and perpendicular to the lengthwise strips 150. The top frame 15 has two side rails 151 each inserted into the slot 122b of the respective support seat 122. Each of the side rails 151 of the top frame 15 is detachably locked in the slot 122b of the respective support seat 122 and retained by the snapping portion 122c of the respective support seat 122.

Each of the side rails 151 of the top frame 15 has a rectangular shape corresponding to that of the slot 122b of the respective support seat 122 and has a height substantially equal to a distance between the snapping portion 122c and a bottom wall of the slot 122b of the respective support seat 122 as shown in FIG. 5, so that each of the side rails 151 of the top frame 15 is retained by the snapping portion 122c of the respective support seat 122.

In addition, the mounting portion 122a of each of the support seats 122 has a length substantially equal to a distance between any two adjacent intermediate lengthwise strips 150 of the top frame 15 as shown in FIG. 4, so that the mounting portion 122a of each of the support seats 122 is located between any two adjacent intermediate lengthwise strips 150 of the top frame 15, and the top frame 15 is located between the two support seats 122 to prevent the top frame 15 from being displaced transversely relative to the support seats 122.

Accordingly, each of the side rails 151 of the top frame 15 is pressed directly into the slot 122b of the respective support seat 122, so that the top frame 15 is mounted onto the support seats 122 easily and quickly, thereby facilitating the user mounting the top frame 15. In addition, the mounting portion 122a of each of the support seats 122 is located between any two adjacent intermediate lengthwise strips 150 of the top frame 15, so that the top frame 15 is located between the two support seats 122 to prevent the top frame 15 from being displaced transversely relative to the support seats 122. Further, the top frame 15 is integrally formed with the lengthwise strips 150 and the crosswise strips 152 by soldering, so that the top frame 15 is made easily and quickly, thereby enhancing the working efficiency, and thereby decreasing costs of fabrication. Further, the top frame 15 is supported by the lengthwise strips 150 and the crosswise strips 152, so that the top frame 15 has a greater strength to withstand a larger load.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
