Claims
- 1. A clutch housing and bearing assembly including;
- a. a cup-shaped bearing housing having a circumferential flange with an inturned web wall at one flange end and an annular retaining shoulder at the other flange end;
- b. bearing means telescopically mounted within the circumferential flange and clamped axially between the web wall and retaining shoulder;
- c. a larger cup-shaped clutch housing having an annular cup wall extending in a radial direction with respect to the bearing housing and terminating in an annular flange; said annular flange extending axially from the clutch housing cup wall in a direction opposite to the bearing housing; and
- d. the clutch housing cup wall being integrally connected with the bearing housing at the retaining shoulder.
- 2. The assembly defined in claim 1 in which washer means is telescopically mounted within the bearing housing circumferential flange and clamped axially between the bearing means and retaining shoulder.
- 3. The assembly defined in claim 1 in which the bearing means includes a pair of bearings; and in which spacer means is mounted within the circumferential flange of the bearing housing between said pair of bearings.
- 4. The assembly defined in claim 1 in which spaced bead means is formed on the circumferential flange of the bearing housing; and in which pulley means is clamped between said spaced bead means.
- 5. The assembly defined in claim 4 in which said bead means includes a pair of spaced beads extending concentrically about the outer surface of the circumferential flange.
- 6. The assembly defined in claim 5 in which at least one of the bead means is formed integral with the circumferential flange.
- 7. A bearing assembly including:
- a. a cup-shaped bearing housing having a circumferential flange with an inturned web wall at one flange end and an annular retaining shoulder at the other flange end;
- b. bearing means telescopically mounted within the circumferential flange and clamped axially between the web wall and retaining shoulder;
- c. an annular mounting flange terminating in a circumferential edge, said mounting flange being integrally connected with the bearing housing at the retaining shoulder and extending radially outwardly from said shoulder; and
- d. a plurality of holes formed in spaced circular relationship in the annular mounting flange between the circumferential edge and bearing housing for mounting said bearing assembly on a piece of machinery.
