The rotatable lint remover is a cylindrical tube in shape having a sticky exterior surface that can pick up fuzz, hair, and lint from clothing when it is rolled over the clothing. In one embodiment, the rotatable lint remover has an opening along the length of the cylindrical tube so that it can be clip over on the transverse bar of the coat hanger. Thus, when a user holds the coat hanger and put the rotatable lint remover on the clothing, the sticky tube can pick up fuzz, hair, and lint from the clothing while it is rolled on the clothing.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a coat hanger and, more particularly to a coat hanger with a lint remover rotatably mounted thereon.

2. Description of Related Art

The use of coat hangers to hang clothes is known in the prior art. Everyone uses and has used coat or garment hangers to hang clothing while not being worn. However, surfaces of clothing, especially coats, frequently get soiled with particles from the environment, such as lint, human hair, pets shedding hair, dust, etc while they are hung on a hanger or worn on. Numerous devices have been developed for removing these foreign particles from the clothes including vacuuming, sweeping, brushing, or using adhesive tape lint removers. However, they are either suffering from cumbersomeness or generally easy to be misplaced and cannot be located when they are in urgent need before a person puts on a coat.

Therefore, it is desirable to have a device that users can hang their clothes on and also use to remove foreign particles (i.e. fuzz, hair, lint, etc.) from the clothes before they are put on.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

One object of the present invention is to provide a coat hanger . . .

Another object of the present invention is to provide means for removing foreign particles including fuzz, hair, and lint from clothing.

A further object of the present invention is to provide a coat hanger with capability of removing fuzz, hair, and lint from clothing.

In one embodiment, the coat hanger comprises a standard coat hanger which includes a hook, a pair of diverging garment arms, and a long transverse bar extends between both terminal ends of the diverging arms, as well as a rolling lint remover mounted onto the transverse bar. The rolling lint remover is an elongated cylindrical tube with a sticky exterior surface which can remove foreign particles including fuzz, hair, and lint from clothing when rolled over the clothing. The rolling lint remover has an opening along its length which enables it to clip over on the transverse bar of a standard coat hanger and roll over the clothing to remove fuzz, hair, and lint on the clothing.

In another embodiment, the coat hanger of the present invention does not have a transverse bar that extends between both terminal ends of the diverging arms. Instead, the coat hanger has two short side bars; each extends from the terminal end of each diverging arms. The rolling lint remover is an elongated cylinder or cylindrical tube that has a sticky exterior surface. However, instead of an opening along the length, the openings are on the two sides of the cylindrical tube. The two transverse bars on the coat hanger are push in to the two openings on the cylindrical tube or the cylinder to rotatably support and enable the lint remover to roll over the clothing for removing fuzz, hair, and lint from the clothing.

The lint remover is rotatably supported by the coat hanger so that it can quickly pick up foreign particles on the clothing while it rolls over the clothing than it is blotting over the clothing. A sheet of paper may cover over the sticky surface of the lint remover until the user decides to remove the paper and use the sticky lint remover. Advertisements may be put on the paper covering the sticky surface.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIG. 1, there is disclosed a standard coat hanger generally shown by numeral 10 comprising a hook shaped hanging structure generally shown by numeral 11 in the center and top of the coat hanger and a pair of diverging garment arms generally shown by numeral 12 which extends outwardly and downwardly from the bottom of the hook 11, and a long transverse article bar generally shown by numeral 13 which extends horizontally between terminal ends of the diverging arms 12.

Referring now to FIG. 2, the device generally shown by numeral 1 in accordance with a first embodiment of this invention comprises a standard coat hanger 10, and a lint remover generally shown by numeral 20 rotatably mounted on the transverse bar 13 of the standard hanger 10. The length of the lint remover 20 is slightly shorter than the length of the transverse bar 13. The coat hanger 10 of the present invention is preferably made from a metal wire which is bent into a hanger shape having a hook 11, a pair of diverging arms 12, and a transverse article bar 13 as shown in FIG. 2. The coat hanger 10 of the present invention may be made from other materials including plastic, wood, etc. The coat hanger 10 may be one single-piece or unitary plastic structures. Or it may have wood diverging arms 12 and a metal wire transverse bar 13.

The exploded view of the coat hanger with the rotatable lint remover according to a first embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG. 3. The rotatable lint remover 20 is an elongated cylindrical tube in shape with adhesive material disposed on its exterior surface 21. Hence, the lint remover 20 of the present invention is a sticky tube. The lint remover 20 may be made of different materials including cardboard, plastic, etc. The preferred embodiment is made of cardboard. Suitable adhesives known in the relevant art that can form a tacky surface for picking up lint and other foreign particles from fabric surfaces may be employed. The adhesives may be pressure sensitive adhesive and are normally sticky to the touch and can pick up foreign particles by the application of light pressure. Before it is ready for use, the sticky surface 21 may be covered by a sheet of paper 22 to keep the roll clean until the user decides to remove the paper 22 and use the lint remover 20. An advertisement can be written on the paper 22 covering the sticky surface 21.

FIG. 4 shows the cross-sectional view along the line 3-3′ on the lint remover (sticky tube) 20 shown in FIG. 3. The lint remover 20 has an opening 23 of which the size is slightly smaller than the diameter of the transverse wire 13 along its length. Because the flexibility of the cardboard (and/or plastic), although the opening 23 is slightly smaller than the diameter of the transverse wire 13 the lint remover 20 can still clip over on the transverse wire 13 of the standard hanger 10 and will not fall off the transverse wire 13 while rotating. The bore 24 of the sticky tube 20 is slightly larger than the diameter of the transverse wire 13, thus, the transverse wire 13 can stay inside the sticky tube 20 and serve as an axis providing rotatable support to the lint remover 20. As a user holds and rolls the device 1 over a piece of clothing, the lint remover 20 picks up fuzz, hair, and lint from the clothing.

Referring to FIG. 5, there is disclosed an exploded view of a second embodiment of the invention which comprises a coat hanger 10 including a hook 11, and a pair of diverging arms 12. But instead of having a long transverse wire 13 extending between both terminal ends of the diverging arms 12, the coat hanger 10 has two short transverse wires, each extending from each diverging arms 12 and facing towards each other. The second embodiment further comprises a cylinder or cylindrical tube shaped rotatable lint remover 20 with openings on the two sides 25. The lint remover 20 in this embodiment also has a sticky surface 21 and work in the same fashion as described in the first embodiment. The two short transverse wires 14 are inserted into the openings 25 of the lint remover 20 so that the device works in the same fashion as described in the first embodiment. The length of the lint remover 20 is slightly longer than the distance between the terminals of the two short transverse bars 14.

As shown in FIG. 5, a metal wire can be bent into a hanger shape having a hook 11, a pair of diverging arms 12, and two short transverse wires 14 which are then pushed in to the sides of the rolling lint remover 25 to form the device of the present invention 1. The hanger may be made of other materials including plastic and wood.

While there have been shown and described and pointed out the fundamental novel features of the invention as applied to the preferred embodiments, it will be understood that the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention and not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed. Obvious modifications or variations are possible in light of the above teachings. The embodiments discussed were chosen and described to provide the best illustration of the principles of the invention and its practical application to enable one of ordinary skill in the art to utilize the invention in various embodiments and with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated All such modifications and variations are within the scope of the invention as determined by the appended claims when interpreted in accordance with the breadth to which they are entitled.
