Claims
- 1. An optical fiber waveguide comprising an optical fiber and a protective coating covering the fiber comprising an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer in which the vinyl acetate content is in the range of 10% to 25% of the copolymer, the elastic modulus of the polymer coating is in the range of 2-5 kg/mm.sup.2 and the melt index of the copolymer is in the range of 200-500.
- 2. The fiber waveguide of claim 1 in which the melt index is of the order of 3.
- 3. The fiber waveguide of claim 2 in which the vinyl acetate content of the copolymer is approximately 18% and the elastic modulus is approximately 4.5 kg/mm.sup.2.
